If I wanted Stereo MP3 playback, I wouldn't buy a phone. I'd buy an MP3 player instead.

there were rumours that the 3230 was out today. has anybody got it yet?how is the phone?

Everyone has their own opinions.While some of you couldn't care a hoot about music playback,others think that it's cool your phone can play your favourite tunes while on the move.
Some of us take long trips to get to work or school,and listening to music helps with the boredom.Having a mp3 player in a phone,also helps to keep down the number of gadgets we carry in our pockets.This is the purpose of "Convergence".
Anyway,if you aren't at home you can't listen to your home stereo :p

So what ? Another 7610 with a new face, just ad radio and a slightly better camera. They did the same thing with the 6670 for the business people, which is a big flop. Being a Nokia fan I am very disapointed. I had a look at the new phones from Samsung for 2005, which are amazing with tones of functions. If that's all that Nokia can do, Samsung is going to be the world number one very soon...

i emailed nokia asking if the nokia 3230 will have stereo mp3 playback i will post their reply here once they reply back.

some others also said that mp3 playback is stereo so it is getting confusing it would be better to be stereo since so many people are complaining about other rumours saying that it is mono.

some guy called messus posted this on a symbian site:
"I have e-mailed Nokia (Norway) and asked them specifically about which of these units (6670, 6260, 6630 and 3230) have 44Khz Stereo playback of MP3. (I did NOT ask about the FM-radio)
They replied that the 6630 and 3230 have stereo mp3-playback. :icon14:
Simultaniously they add at the end of the mail, that their answer is based on the information I gave them (my question), and that it is only general information, and that they can not promise or guarantee anything, and that the answer I have got is not legally binding for Nokia in anyway.

So, hehe, I personally do believe that the 3230 is supporting MP3 playback in stereo, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

yeah i agree Alfredo the stereo thing isn't putting me off the nokia 3230. i'm sure lots of people will still be happy with it. i listened to music on phones that weren't stereo mp3 playback and they were still loud. not a big deal to me.

Why is it that everybody seams so "hung up" on this "stereo" thing...It is a telephone for Christ sakes....if we give such importance to the "stereo" why don't we just listen to it at home in the "home theatre?

its not exactly a web address its my friend who sells mobiles for cheap and i get him the money and he then gives me the mobiles to give to the people who paid for them.

It might be aimed at the youth but without stereo mp3 playback its nothing.I have waited for this phone a month and im disappointed to hear that its not stereo.I'm gettin the 6630 because its mp3 playback is stereo and its processor is 2 times faster only the lack of FM radio is the 6630s bad point.(THATS MY OPINION)

6630 is more for business use and faster networks with 3g and a bigger lense for clearer and better pictures but 3230 still has sharp pictures as i seen on nokias site

I think 6630 has mp3 stereo playback but 3230 doesn't(not sure about 3230)

Yes i really agree that about nokia, and i think everybody does. The problem is, whether to buy or not to buy from them
