many blamming nokia 3230 and say that this phone can't beam datas directly to memory card so RAM of phone is enforced which leads to hang the phone. there is a simple solution- buy a memory card reader for rs 200(kolkata price, brand "enter") attach it to ur usb port and enjoy.

to all readers in ithis forum-
1)nokia 3230 don't support "STEREO MP3".it supports "DUAL MONO" which is pretty well if u hear the song in bedroom or even in a bus in kolkata.jst use some mp3 apps like power mp3.
2)the latest firmware ver"5.0604.x"is very good and recovers hang problem. u must buy it from "NOKIA PRIORITY DEALER" like wireless comm in salt lake, kolkata.
3)u must equip it with an antivirus like kaspersky,simworks,f-secure.norton aka symmentec is not suitable bcoz it drains memory which may lead to slower performence.
4)remember "AUTO SCANNING TIME" of anti virus and close all apps during that time.don't push ur phone too hard bcoz it may lead to "RESTART"
5)always "INSTALL APPS IN MEMORY CARD" only "LOAD ANTIVIRUS ON PHONE MEMORY".CLEAR UR RAM AS LARGE AS POSSIBLE.
6)use memory card of 128,256,512mb max.
7)large memory card needs time to open & when u open gallery phone shows"LOADING PLZ WAIT...".but once open it works normally. don't buy 1gb card.3230 supports rs-mmc,mmc micro(dv)
nokia 3230 is gr8 mobile it's the base of "N-SERIES" so get 1 right now

Cool mobile. But some imperfections.
1. Stereo MP3 are not playing in stereo despite MP3 player displays stereo. Can somebody help?
2. Any application available to power off and power on at scheduled time?
3. Any option to stop camera going standby?
4. Any application to custom set zoom level in shoot mode (still camera)?
5. A hiss noise is heard during MP3 playback. Any method to stop?

bottom line: this handset sucks. Ok? please! if you have some cash to shed, go for a better phone. This is at the same price range as the w800i or u just need to add a little. At least thats the price here. Uh, and trust me, i have used this phone. What the people said about it here, like its restarting and stuff? ALL TRUE. SO, do yourself a favor. Save your money. And use that to buy a quality phone.

I bot this handset couple of months ago n i liked it. Its user friendly, cheap n serves mostly all the things!! Ppl who have got problem wid 1 gb card, that's so obvious. use at the max. 512mb card that works best.Yeah sometimes it re-starts on its own thats a negative point, but no cellphone is perfect evrything has got its pros n cons.
so people who wanna buy ...u can surely buy it...as its quite a cheap deal!!

omg lyk ive had this fone 4 2 yrs and lyk b4 i bought i wos lyk OMG YAY MY FAV FONE buh now im so sik ov it! it keeps restarting at random times, randomly shuts off evn wen it has full battery during a call and it looks fugly =[ i want a new fone that has a gud camera, blutooth and infrared but i cant seem 2 find a gud fone that dus except 4 nokia n95 buh onli problem with that fone is the price!

This phone, huh.. i have been using it for TWO years. Ugh, i'm sick of it. The first few weeks i had it, i was totally ecstatic. Kept on playing with it for days, but then, you will soon realize that this 2 yr old phone, compared to today's phone, is a lot slow. so slow man, to the point of annoyingness. and if u do buy it, don't expect the casing to last. It RUSTS! As in, the silver color would fade. Whether black or wine red version, same goes for both. Battery life is crap as well. Longest it lives is about 3 days, then dead. ANd at that i even use it minimally. I'm afraid to buy a memory card for it because i am afraid to waste my money, Its too slow. if you buy even a 1gb card, it'd probably stop functioning all together. 30 mins talking and this phone consumes half of its battery life. Radio is ok. I get good signals all the time. But you'd get a bad signal if you live in the province. Truth is, i'm not satisfied with this phone, so planning to upgrade maybe to newer phones. Just, this is a horrible experience for me, owning this phone for 2 yrs. I am so sick of this I probably would never get a symbian phone again. Oh and it crashes a lot. As in it suddenly restarts or sometimes it displays "Insert sim card" when the sim card IS inside. I like the brightness and clarity of the display. So the pics taken with this phone is ok if you view it on the phone but if you view it on the computer, tends to shoe the blurriness. i am ok with the keypad as i am used to it. Um,i was able to install a lot of stuff in it. which is the good part of symbian. but since i said that it crashes, bad. Um, so, my point is, if you are ok with a sluggish phone, that restarts occasionally, low battery life, mediocre cam, low quality casing, go for this. Haha, otherwise, forget about it. Though today, i think this phone is really cheap so, if you want a symbian cheap phone, get this. As for me, I'm buying a new phone. Really, if you would want to put mp3s in this phone, forget about it. Its so slow its bound to get stuck.
To anyone who loves this phone, no offense, i am just telling the truth and trying to give an honest advise.

I've used 3230 for 2 years (since 2005) and i've got no problem with this phone at all. If you're talking of mjor problem of course. Sometimes it just restart by itself. 3230's performance according to me is not bad, but lack in camera and sound. It only produced mono sound while the camera if is just below average for megapixel standard.
The text capacity is approx 400 chars.
Something i hate about this phone is the chrome color could fade. But despite of those mnus points, i still have no plan to change my phone yet.
You could buy this phone if you don't care about the music sound, camera. and the appearance (if the color get faded).
One last thing, to start the phone takes about 10-20 seconds. Does it matter to you?

Its not the mobile . Slow with filckering on screen.
I god my mobile repaired once for this filckering and now it goes all blank.
Problem is recurring everytime I use it for even 5 mins continuosly.
Any body having same prob. pls suggest how to get it fixed.

u ve to transfer your pictures, tones and other stuff to memory card and whenever u load or install software or any thing do it on ur memory card and right now shift all data to memory card then it will work. bye
