i think some voice function was accidentally turned on in my phone because every time someone calls, it literaly speaks out theyr names, if i have them in my contacts list. this is kind of annoying because i don't know how to turn it off. HELP!!!

let me know how it goes plus they shouldnt check the memory card but even if they do its the phone not the card thats covered.

Don't worry I'm really not so dummy:).About the warranty,a few days ago i bought a new microSD card and i sold the old one,so is it still covering me?I am afraid that i kind of "uncovered" the phone with this thing and the ones from nokia center won't fix it for free,let's hope that they won't check to see what kind of memory card i have :D.First thing i do tomorrow is taking my phone at the center.I'll keep you in touch. thanks alot.

you dont have to pay for the repair
The phone is under nokia warranty and there is no way of them telling that you did this as its not physical damage. Say your phone crashed during something eg sending message turned itself off and wouldnt switch back on. They will fix it for free or if it is not fixable then you will recieve a new phone but whatever you do dont make the mistake of telling them you tried to upgrade the fiemware yourself because the repair could cost hundreds.

Yes I talked to my mom and she accepted to do the paying for the repairs.Now let's just hope that what I did is fixable.Tnx for helping.

well im sorry but i dont know what it could be then alin. The best thing to do is take it to a service centre and i am 100 per cent certain they will do it for you because they dont have to know you updated it yourself just say it crashed

helper i think my problem is bigger than that.i tried what u said with the sim card but stil my phone doesn't want to switch on.it's certainly a soft problem and i really don't know how it could be fixed if the phone won't start.i hope they have other methods.tnx for the effort and i could really use some more suggestions.

i had the same problem with my sony ericsson w800i. One day i switched it on but it just wouldnt start up,it stuck on the SE logo. What the problem is, its your sim card, the phone ate it, put another sim in and im sure it will work, let me know how it goes.

Is the loudness on the 3250 louder than walkman phones including the new w850i? if its louder does it mean the quality is worse and is it stereo speaker or mono cos some reviews say it is and some say it aint

please tell me what can i do about my soft prob,my phone won't start and i'm pretty desperate.i tried pluging it once again,the pc makes that normal sound telling me that it recognized the phone but the phone...stil dead :

Hey,i got a serious prob with my phone,i tried to reinstall the soft but unfortunately the cable came out from the phone and now,it won't start anymore,it's dead.How can i fix this by myself cause my warranty won't cover for the soft reinstall by an unauthorised person :|.My question is,is this thing fixable,i mean my phone can't just die.Showld i take it to an unauthorised center? Pls reply asap!!!

re u r not able to use music player on ur 3250, first backup all ur data (internal mem) using backup utility in PC suite then press "*#7370#" wyl on standby screen and press "12345" when asked to reformat ur phone. hope dat solves d problem. if problem persists, update ur firmware using NSU

i think nokia software updated won't work on ur cel (coz it getting stuck on d startup screen) d best way to do is ask for a replacement from nokia or hav it repaired at their authorized center in ur area

obviously, i'l choose 3250 (coz i already got 1 for more than 7 months with no problems!) besides, its alot faster than N70! plus d multimedia features of 3250 is better (except for 3G services and video recording) like sound quality, loudness et al!

juz b sure dat u don't have duplicate nos. saved (i.e. a contact named Jon with no. 12345 and contact named Ron with no. 12345 too). if not then i guess u were not able to copy ur sim contacts yet to d phone memory contacts, u can do it by going to contacts > options > sim contacts > sim directory > options > mark all > options > copy to contacts. if dat doesn't work, do this: backup all ur data in ur phone mem using nokia pc suite backup then press *#7370# and input 12345 when asked wyl on standby screen to reformat ur phone (all data wil b erased, dat's y back it up first b4 doing it)

re deleting pre installed sounds, jus reformat ur phone mem (it wil not delete microSD card) but it wil restore some pre installed sounds but at least u wil b able to play em.. press *#7370# wyl on idle screen and press 12345 when asked (b sure to back up ur phone mem manually [do not use backup utility coz it wil save d same deleted sound files) before doing dat)

re battery, average use wil last u 2.5 to 3 days (calls, msgs, some gaming/browsing/bluetooth). due to its lower resolution screen, 3250 is faster in operation compared to N80 (which has a high resolution screen, like when u change a PC screen resolution with 350mhz PII processor) not sure with N73 though.. total RAM of 3250 is 32MB and free RAM after booting is 11.7MB approximately..

3250 plays more music/video formats and has better sound quality (and higher volume) thru loudspeaker (even 3250 only has 1 speaker) and inbox earphones than 6233. plus music management in 3250 is way better than 6233 coz u can search ala phonebook in d music library. also eAAC+ 48kbps files played on 3250 sounds like mp3 128kbps (when ripped directly from an audio CD using latest nokia music manager) unlike 6233, d sound is horrible when playin eAAC+ 48kbps. also, stereo widening and bass boost is present in 3250 unlike 6233.. also bare in mind dat 3250 is a S60 phone simply means "open to new features" =)

as of this date, 3250 is a nearly 8 month old nokia model. yes u can hav songs sent to u via bluetooth, MMS as ringtones!

3250 is a S60 3.0 phone, previous themes made for models like 7650, 7610, 6630, 3230, N70 wil not work. b sure to install themes made for S60 3rd edition with 176 x 208 resolution

re laggin sound on smartmovie, besides adjusting d right preroll time, updating to firmware 3.23 or higher wil solve ur problem in sound lagging too.

re ur mem card, go to organiser > memory > options > format mem card. after formatting and ur phone stil can't recognize it, then its time to ask for a replacement of ur 3250 (u got a defective unit)

yeah, 3250 camera works in almost full screen landscape mode when taking pics! (if dat' wat u meant..); yup, it supports mp4; re music quality, i beg to disagree but walkman phones never scores better in quality (its just dat) Walkman phones usually comes with a better inbox earphone against 3250. put in sennheiser px 200 or A4tech MK-620 and im sure walkman phones wil sound inferior!

i think nokia juz included dat field so it will come handy in d (future?), so u know what someone's video call # is. also, as i understand, EDGE is constantly being improved (juz take a look at N93 and N95's EDGE speeds) its almost around d speed of 3G which means dat in future a video call may b available with EDGE handsets soon, provided dat a secondary camera or rotating cam like 3250's or cam attachment is available (i think 3250's max EDGE uplink and downlink speeds r juz enough to stream a CIF video to conduct a video call, its just dat nokia disabled d feature and/or network solutions r not yet deployed/installed thru network operators worldwide [if nokia plans to make EDGE handsets to make vid calls soon]...)

When you see the call menu (contacts->options) there is "Video call" but the phone doesnt support UMTS(3G video call) :P

hey guys i bought the 3250 xpress music version and its aweeeeeesome it doent differ than the normal one but its color is niiiiice and it comes with 1gb memory card and im not facing any slowness with it, but i need to ask u guys wt is the newest software for it called, its not cuz im facing problems with the software i hav its cuz i want to know wt is the new software number is and thankyou guys and i hope i did something good buy telling you the difference between both phones
