converting MP3s into eAAC+ or M4A wil vastly save u lots of free memory! let's say, normally a MP3 w/ 128kbps bitrate is about 3.5mb to 5mb (depending on how long a song is) but if u convert it to eAAC+ w/ bitrate of 48kbps it will only hav 1.3mb to 2mb only, using nokia music manager 1.0 wil compromise on sound quality only (also w/ other converters out there) its about 70%-82% from d original audio source... but if u rip directly from ur audio CD, dat's a different story, coz d quality wil b around 92%-96% from d original one (when u use nokia music manager 1.0 usin eAAC+ or M4A 48kbps)! to giv u an example, if u hav 512mb microSD, if u use MP3 128kbps, u will save rougly 120-150 songs whilst usin m4a 48bkps (nokia MM 1.0) wil let u save approx 280-350 songs!

          Amir:

          addendum:
when ur on data transfer mode, juz close d "windows auto-play" window then locate all files converted by dBPoweramp which has d edited tags by nokia music manager 1.0 and copy em and paste it to this location of ur microSD:

          e:/sounds/digital sounds

where "e:" is d drive letter of ur microSD (depending how many drives u hav..) when goin to my computer..

            Amir:
            here's a more detailed explanation:

on d PC suite menu, choose transfer music then click on options > settings > under general tab hit browse and select d folder where u saved ur converted tracks by dBPower and click on OK, when all d tracks r loaded on d "My Collection", simply click on d track u want to edit tags then right click each column of d track u clicked (e.g. artist name, song, album name, genre and stuff) to edit them so when u transfer em to ur 3250, ID3 Tags wil b read by ur phone. juz use d drag n drop thing (after connecting d usb cable, juz choose "data transfer" when asked)

              Amir:
i guess u missed some instruction, carefully follow my suggestions and im 100% sure u can make ID3 tags appear on ur 3250 by editing it on nokia music manager 1.0 (after converting MP3s into eAAC+ usin dBPoweramp provided dat u've installed d Nero codec here)

              ftp://ftp6.nero.com/tools/NeroDigitalAudio.zip

after u unzip d "win32" folder, copy all 4 files therein and paste it to this directory on ur PC (if u installed dBPower in default location)

              C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\Nero Digital Audio (AAC)

d first tym u use d Nero codec, it dBPower wl ask u for d location, juz hit ok when d msg box appears..

              here it is again:
on d PC suite menu, choose transfer music then click on options > settings > under general tab hit browse and select d folder where u saved ur converted tracks by dBPower and click on OK, when all d tracks r loaded on d "My Collection", simply right click on d track u want to edit tags then click each column (e.g. artist name, song, album name, genre and stuff) to edit them so when u transfer em to ur 3250, ID3 Tags wil b read by ur phone. juz use d drag n drop thing (after connecting d usb cable, juz choose "data transfer" when asked)

OK im STUMPED! i updated my pc suite and did everything as u told me i copied 2 tracks to my fone: one MP3 and the same one in m4a (eaac+) they both had the same info in the tag but the MP3 was ok and the eAAC+ wasnt! any idea why? maybe the tagging options in the dbpower arent alright bcz as i said b4 the m4a files that were converted through the nokia music manager were ok.

Hi! im a proud 3250 owner but i got a small problem converting my MP3's to eaac+. when im using dBPower the conversion is perfect but when im moving the songs to my fone it shows "unknown artist" to everything because the songs are not in the folder arrangement the fone likes : artist folder/ Album folder/ song.m4a
when i convert the same songs using the pc suite music program i get the songs in the folder arrangment from above but the songs have worse quality. so my question is: how can I convert the songs using dBpower tools but still get them in the desired folder arrangment? thx in advance!

To many who still do not know how to convert tunes to eAAC+ format, here goes:

Firstly, I do not use Nokia Music Manager to convert my tunes. Namely, because it sucks. Why? Because it uses old-tech codecs, produces songs that are noisy, distorted, and worst of all, if you try and convert multiple music files at one go, the files won't get cut properly (meaning you will here the ending of the previous song in the beginning of the next song).

My solution to all this is to use a freeware program called dbPoweramp. Try googling for it, you will get it. Next, download the Nero AAC+ codec from their website. It's that simple. Now follow the instructions on their website to convert tunes to eAAC+ format.

Hey viperkid.. I've observed your many posts here and I'm glad to find such a 3250 enthusiast such as you! =)

First off, I have a few questions, which I dont seem to be able to get answers from the internet:

                            1. What is the latest firmware for the asia pacific 3250 which supports chinese language as of now, 6th October 2006? I live in Malaysia and I bought my 3250 around late August.. my firmware is v3.23. I searched around on i-phone and found v3.24, is this a true Firmware from nokia?

                            2. When listening with earphones, and when I skip to next track, I get an annoying "pop" sound before the next song starts. Tell me, are you experiencing this? how are you living with this problem? Any ways to minimise this annoying sound?

                            3. The camera barrel effect - Try using your 3250 camera and shoot an image of a completely White background, eg A4 paper. You will notice there is a red-tintish circle in the middle of the image. Is this a firmware problem?

                            4. White balance not working. Is this firmware problem?

                            5. Worst problem of all. My phone cant read contact's names. When i save my contacts WITH the country code, eg: +60xxxxxxx, I get to see their names during SMS BUT NOT during calls. Likewise, when i save them WITHOUT coutnry code, eg: xxxxxxx, I get to see their names during CALLS BUT NOT SMS! This is a big problem which i think should be solved because it is so basic that even the cheapest of phone should have no problems with! Any solutions?

Your attention is kindly appreciated :)
