            Hi all,

I just got my mobile, and everytime i turn it on it doesn't read the memory card even though it is in the slot. I have to remove it then put it back in again before it reads, do you know how i can fix this problem. thanks.

to store lots of music tracks on ur card use d format eAAC+ (M4A) and choose 48kbps (mobile optimized format). yes, d quality is almost d same as MP3 files encoded at 128kbps as long as u ripped directly from d audio CD! i'll rate their quality against d original (ripped directly from audio CD), MP3 128kbps = 96%, eAAC+ 48kbps = 91 to 94%! but if ur converting ur current mp3s and WMAs into mobile optimized format (m4a 48kbps) d quality wil not b as good, its roughly 75 to 84% only.. use d latest nokia pc suite (6.81) which has d latest music manager to achieve those results. i use lots of eAAC+ 48kbps, WMA and MP3 formats on my 3250

                      Blank and toto:
only difference is dat this updated version has a cd dat includes PC suite 6.81 which has d latest music manager and yahoo go application pre loaded (which we current 3250 owners can hav too by juz downloading on their respective websites) soon on yahoo..

                      http://go.connect.yahoo.com/go/mobile/download?download=nokia

and of course d 1GB microSD included in d sales package and 2 new preinstalled themes (but take note dat in d official nokia statement this updated 3250xpress music will b sold at 400 euros so it means its more expensive than 3250, its juz like buying a 1GB microSD immediately..) oh yeah, also d new youthful colors! don't worry, both 3250's support 2GB microSD!

                        ng:
video call is a 3G service allowing u to see d person u r talking with on d other line, but it requires both parties (u and called person) to hav 3G capable handsets under a 3G network. i think nokia juz included dat field so it will come handy in d (future?), so u know what someone's video call # is. also, as i understand, EDGE is constantly being improved (juz take a look at N93 and N95's EDGE speeds) its almost around d speed of 3G which means dat in future a video call may b available with EDGE handsets soon, provided dat a secondary camera or rotating cam like 3250's or cam attachment is available (i think 3250's max EDGE uplink and downlink speeds r juz enough to stream a CIF video to conduct a video call, its just dat nokia disabled d feature and/or network solutions r not yet deployed/installed thru network operators worldwide [if nokia plans to make EDGE handsets to make vid calls]...). re tracks, if u hav a 512mb microSD (with around 484mb free space), u can store about 350-400 tracks (encoded with eAAC+ 48kbps by nokia music manager).

                        Mrigank Pawar:
i hav 90++ images, 50++ videos, 190 tracks, etc on my microSD but when i open my gallery, it only takes 1.5 seconds for all d stuff to appear.. perhaps u used nokia music manager in transferring tracks (resulting into all folders & subfolders 2be saved onto ur microSD too [e.g. folders "Blue or Artist" and "All Rise or Album name"] hence 3250 is havin a long time to search in d subfolders of each track..) i suggest dat u go to ur default file mgr and look into ur tracks and double check if folders of artists and subfolders of album names r present, if it is then juz move d mp3/eAAC or whatever music file itself to microSD directory "sound clips/digital sounds. to prevent folders and subfolders of Artists and Album names, juz use d USB mass storage n do d drag n drop stuff! =) my firmware is also 3.23. and yes, i hav an operator logo, i already changed it many times like 15x! haven't tried colored operator logos though..

                        John:
juz go to ur neareast authorized service center by nokia and hav ur firmware upgraded to at least 3.21 or higher to solve ur problem in service commands so u can check ur prepaid balance. its free as long as u hav d limited warranty by nokia.

                        Chris:
i hav 3250 in six months now, as of now d keyboard is still d same as d first tym i got it! it still works 100% twist to music, phone or camera! really COOL

                        sudhir:
if ur usin AAC d best is 128kbps but if ur usin eAAC+ (M4A) 48kbps is d best bitrate (it has almost d same quality as 64kbps and u won't hear their difference). u can store around 350-400 tracks on 512mb microSD (songs with duration of 3:45 encoded in M4A format 48kbps [mobile optimized format])

                        pratik:
since im not havin d SMS laggin problem too, i didn't installed d accelerator juz yet. but i think nokia won't do anything to harm our phones.. perhpaps i'll install it eventually!

no apps yet, but flash game here!

FYI, current 3250s now supports 2GB microSD cards too! u can check it here:

what type of music files u r trying to convert to mobile optimized format, mp3?

                        rigved:
what PC suite version u hav? if it's not 6.81 then u really hav d older version with d problematic mp3 to eAAC+ conversion! u can get d latest here:

                        http://www.europe.nokia.com/A4144905

                        666_devil:
                        1) currently u can upgrade ur firmware thru authorized nokia service centers, but soon 3250 wil b included in this list so u don't hav to go to any service centers, all u need is ur PC and d USB cable and internet connection!

                        http://www.europe.nokia.com/A4176089

                        2) i think dat's normal, and besides not all has dat issue, only some of em, especially tracks recorded at high volumes or edited by a software with increased volume from d original one..

                        prettynpetite00:
100%, u can set mp3 and other supported music files by 3250 as ringtone, message alert, email alert! my reception never been this great, its 1 of d best units i hav! did not experienced any dropped calls unlike SE phones!

3250 is a good fone....but after few months u will seriously dislike it due to its bulkiness and slightly low 2megapix quality as compared to w810i..when played thro headfones w810 bass element is higher than 3250...i am using this fone for 3 monts and now i really want to sell it and go for w810i....moreover the twisting mechanism can also give many problems..

                                hi viperkid,
i bought the phone a few days back and its truly awesome. i needed a few tips from you though.
                                1) how do i upgrade the firmware.
                                2) the speakers seem to hav a slight disturbance while playing mp3 files at high volume. is it a prob. with the speaker? or will it reduce if i use the conversion program of the pc suite?

thnx a lot and this fone rocks otherwise.

                                  Thanx a lot Massive...

                                  Oh and one more thing
for those who want to PREVENT SCRATCHES ON THE NOKIA BODY(especially the plastic back), you can use this tip:
Instead of leaving the cell on its backside(the side with the music keys), you can place it SIDEWAYS(preferably the side opposite to the charging port, just so that nothing enters any of the two ports.)
                                  This prevents two things:
1)REDUCES the number of scratches on the plastic body, as it wont come into contact with any surface...
2)If the cell is put on any surface on its backside, the MUSIC keys start to lose their colour(especially the 1st and last key), and become white-ish.By placing the cell sideways, this problem is prevented.

By placing the cell on its side, there'll hardly be any more scratches on the plastic back.
Till now, i dont even have ONE visible scratch on the plastic back, but several tiny scratches, which are visible only if sum1 looks carefully(bcoz i too used to place the cell on its back).

                                  Trust me, its very useful!!!

                                  Hope i've helped...
                                  Cheers!!

my brother has w810i and i hav 3250..except the speaker w810i is much much better than 3250...its very user friendly...the camera of w810i is awesome!! 3250 is a symbian phone, but who needs that crappy symbian os!!! i personaaly use symbian phones for the past 2 yrs and i think symbian fones r useless!!if u keep installing more and more applications one day ur fone will crash and then u will hav to go to those idiotic nokia care centre!!! trust me go for SE...i will also shift to the SE camp after about six months by selling this crap fone!!
but truly the 3250 loudspeaker is worth appreciating!!!good work by nokia in that aspect!!

Had this phone for 3 mths and then I saw W810 my sister have and was blown away by the sound of W810 and the user friendly SE created for that music phone. I decided to sell my 3250 and now I am the happy owner of W810 and it has a very good battery life. Will last 3 or 4 days even listening to music alot, and making calls very often.
