My Nokia 3250 has a 512MB card with 83MB free. I tried to upload an mp3 file of approx. 5500Kb via bluetooth from another phone and my phone gave a not enough memory message. WHY? Are there any tools to direct data input to the memory card instead of the phone memory? How do you view the SIM memory?

After tinkin thru for a long time whether to get this phone.....

i have to say that this is a really FANTASTIC phone!!!!!!

To thos concern about the sound quality... this is my verdict:

            1. The Sound quality through the HS-20 headphones provided is hopelessly lousy..

            2. HOWEVER,if u use a sony or panasonic or any branded earphones of your own, the sound quality totally, and i mean totally ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can;t stress this enuff... to those who posted that the inear sound quality is lousy might be because of the HS-20 provided...

            3. As everybody have testified about the fantastic loud speaker sound quality... i shall not brag about it much..

Thus to those who intend to use this phone as a replacement for their faulty mp3 players(like i did) or wadever... do not hesitate anymore n just go get it!!!!!! the sound quality just rox!! can't stress this enuff!!!!!!!!!!

Also... having symbian is such a bonus too! only prob is dat there isn't much symbian v9.1 programs out there YET.. so just wait a while more n i believe there'll be tons n tons of programs to install.. n of course not forgetting multiplayer games that u can play thru bluetooth which obviously W800 n W810 can't! this phone OWNS!!!

Ps. i'm not bias against sony ericsson phones, in fact i have considered w800.. but after testing out w800, their speakers, screen size and lack of symbian just turned me off...

                            Hey readers...
I've made this damn cool discovery - YOU CAN SEND PROTECTED FILES(eg. sis files, jar files,etc...)FROM THE CELL'S FILE MANAGER ITSELF!!

But this method will work only if the other device has an advanced file manager, like Fileman(s60) or FExplorer(s60),both of which are NOT compatible with the 3250.basically,you can send java games and sis files to any s60 device OTHER THAN s60 3rd edition phones including the 3250,as there still hasn't been any advanced file manager developed for the cell.

This is what you gotta do:

                            1) open your 3250's file manager and go to the file that you wanna send.

2)Select 'options' and then select 'rename'

3)Rename the extension of the file to .mp3 ,for example,

                            game.jar to game.mp3

4)After you're done with the renaming, you simply press the 'options' button again and select 'send' via whichever way you wanna send it.

5)Once you send the file to the other device(a cell with an advanced file manager, preferably 'Fileman'), you would have to open that file manager in the other device, and search for the file that you just sent.

6)Once you've found the file, you simply rename the extension back to what it originally was. For example,

                            game.mp3 back to game.jar

Thats it!!! You can then access the file which was supposed to be 'protected' .
I use this method mainly to transfer JAVA GAMES from my cell to my friend's nokia 7610 cell, which has 'Fileman'.

I know that the process is a bit long, maybe about 2 - 5 minutes, but what the heck- you've just succeeded in tricking nokia's security system!!

So basically,i've realised that the cell doesn't allow any file with extensions like .sis, .jar, etc... to be sent.Once the extension name is changed,it can be sent.

Incase anyone didnt understand my explanation,or if anyone has some doubts, post the question back on this site, and i'll reply back...

                            Hope i've helped...

                                  My tips for the phone:

Copy all the contacts periodically to your memory card for anytime restore.

Buy a Philips or a Sony headphone and attach it to the handsfree for remarkable sound quality. The earphones provided with the phone are hopelessly bad.

Dont use a tight fit cover as it presses all the music buttons.

I got this toy a week back. It has 3.23 firmware. The following are the pros and cons:
                                    +
                                    Good camera
                                    Loud mp3 on loudspeaker
                                    Great symbian
                                    Unique twist ability
                                    Great looks
                                    Big memory at 512mb
Very contingent active stand by mode

                                    --
Camera twist does not work at times
Very ordinary sound quality inear headphones
Video capture could have been better
Menu access button does not press properly
