i have 3250 for over 8 months already and tried firmwares 3.21, 3.23, 3.24 and finally 4.14, here's d fact:
now dat i hav 4.14, d volume on d music player wen d supplied earphones r plugged in really decreased wen compared to previous firmwares but dat's only true on d said HS-20 earphones coz i own an A4Tech MK-620 and d volume is d same as 3.18 (i even think it is even louder and hav better quality overall!) so if u hav another earphone aside from d default one, u'll not hav any problem in d volume of music. u can follow my best equalizer settings for respective headsets/usage, follow dis link:

here r some of d improvements in 4.14:
a) generally faster operation overall
b) background image does not get distorted wen scrolling down on long msgs plus d font became bold in format for better readability
c) new theme wil b available named, "together"
d) backup phone mem on microSD now works (unlike in 3.18)
e) white balance effect on camera works again (unlike 3.21, 3.23, 3.24)
f) smoother digital zoom wyl video recording, same with still image
g) no need to install SMS accelerator
h) opened msgs wil b in white or lyt blue in color so u can distinguish read and unread msgs better unlike in 3.18, it stays yellow..
i) louder and clearer midi/polyphonic tones wen set as alert tones (not wen played in music plyr but wen a msg or call is actually rcved)
and a few more! so its up to ya whether u want to upgrade or not. =)

dont upgrade to any other firmware,stay with the 3.18 coz right now that is the best firmware for the nokia 3250,if u have a problem with the messaging then download the sms accelerator and dont use any themes for ur phone it slows the phone,use the default theme.

hey roger, do you have any software that increases the video resolution of the phone? instead of the sucking QCIF? at least QVGA or higher(if possible) could someone help?:-D

guys any firmware version after 3.18 has less volume,i guess nokia may release the next firmware version with higher volume output because they have been receiving many complaints from customers.so i suggest do not upgrade the firmware version and those who have the firmware version 3.18 then your lucky.

@insane: you can't reinstall it, but if you go to an authorized service with it, they will restart it for you. if its still in warranty, you can tell them it simply stopped working, out of no reason, and they may beleve it and restar it for free.

Another question,
my version 3.23, is it the same with version 3.18? i mean the volume? is it loud?

somebody please help me,i tryed to update my firmware to 3.24 and the cable came out of the phone and now it won't even start.does anyone know a program to recognise my phone even if it's turned off an have and install my soft?please mail me ASAP.tnx

Hi..can sumbody tel me the advantages and the disadvantages of updating nokia 3250 firmware to 4.14? I'm using this hp since august and its quite fantastic. the firmware version is 3.23. List the advantages and disadvantages so i can easily compare it.. thanx.

hi i have a bad problem with my 3250. yesterday i was tried to install some themes on the phone and they installed with no problem, then i found those thems that should appear in app manager do not exist in there, so u can't uninstall them from the phone. i siwtched the phone off and on and some of them appeared on app manager. anyway i decided to format my memory card and install the themes later. and here is the problem, i can not reinstall any of the themes i previously installed on my phone!!! it made me crazy, why i should not install them again? i found the record of them in the installation log file, may be it is way i can not reinstall them. but how i can del the log file? please help me, i'm very sad about this...

hey guys, does anyone know if there is a software that could enable this phone to browse Html files in full and not compressed in vertical,and landscape mode browsing capable like what other s60 3rd editions could do? like in e50,n80,n91, etc.. please post if someone knows it

guys its quite logical,whats the use of having a music phone with no volume so i would suggest not to upgrade ur firmware.
