Nokia 3.4 renders and specs leak
HMD Global’s participation in IFA 2020 is already quite certain, along with info that the company will be unveiling a slew of new budget to mid-range devices at the show. The Nokia 3.4, codenamed “Doctor Strange”, will likely be among these, alongside the Nokia 2.4, known as “Wolverine”.
Having stopped by GeekBench already, the Nokia 3.4 is clearly out there, in industry-insider circles. That’s how today’s leak came into existence, with a tipster claiming to have the unit or, at least, actual pictures of it, which can not be released. Enter what is essentially a “fan made” render of the device, allegedly based on the real thing.
Before somebody points it out, the author notes that the volume keys are misaligned. Apparently, a dedicated Google Assistant button will be one of the buttons on the device. Clearly, there is something funky going on with the buttons, the way they are drawn, so we’ll be ignoring those. The more revealing bit is definitely the back design, with a memorable circular camera module, quite reminiscent of the recent Nokia C5 Endi.
The Nokia 3.4 is clearly not just a re-badge of the C5 Endi, though. The punch hole selfie camera is one proof of that. It is expected to be an 8MP snapper. That display will allegedly be a 6.5-inch, 19:9, HD+ unit. The circular camera array should consist of a 13MP + 2MP + 5MP triple setup. Sources also claim the Nokia 3.4 will have a 4,000 mAh battery, with 10W charging, via a microUSB port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Also, as per several sources, the Nokia 3.4 will be based on a Snapdragon “Bengal” chipset, along with 3GB of RAM. That codename is associated with either the Snapdragon 662 or the Snapdragon 460. Both chips are nearly identical, differing mainly in clock speed (the advantage goes to the 662, naturally).
Geekbench 5 results: Nokia 3.4 (Doctor Strange) • Nokia 2.4 (Wolverine)
Either way, we are looking at a slightly more-potent device here, compared to C5 Endi and its MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. A part, which rumors claim will also be at the core of the upcoming Nokia 2.4 (Wolverine).
We expect both of these handsets to be unveiled on September 3. Likely joining them will be the mid-range Nokia 6.3 and 7.3 – a logical pair to further flush-out the current Nokia lineup.
