Rory, 28 Jan 2009I don't think it can, I just made the same mistake, I bough... moreIt says in the PDF manual, available on the Nokia website, that the phone cannot handle more than a 2GB card, hence the "R" in "RTFM" which stands for "read".
On the bright side, you still have a working microSD RAM card.

I guess I need to get a 2gig now. oops.

nunu, 25 Jan 2009I bought the phone two weeks ago and I have a problem with ... moreIf you're still reading this page try this:
1) Remove the cover and battery.
2) Look closely at the bottom right corner, at the slot for the microSD RAM card. Using your fingernail, slide it to the right and it will pop open.
3) Insert the card, name side toward you (the back of the phone). Which way should be obvious: microSD cards have a raised bump on one end, and that lines up with the metal slot.
4) Using two digits (your thumbs would be best), push down the card and slot with one. As it's held down, use the other digit's nail to slide the slot inward, toward the centre of the phone.
If you did it right, you card should be recognized when you put the battery back in and turn it on.

The "Classic" Nokia models are old technology repackaged, which is good and bad.
Good: lower price and proven parts
Bad: fewer features and capabilities
I've had mine for six months with no problems, and didn't have to break the bank to get it. It's not fancy, but it has been reliable and the ability to add my own MP3 ringtones is great.
This phone's biggest pain in the drain, however, is NOT mentioned ANYWHERE in the documentation: this phone can only handle S40 Java software, which means newer Java applications (S60) won't run on it, and nobody tells you that. Also, the headphone jack is NOT a standard 1/8th inch, which means you can only use a Nokia headphone set, not just any brand.
Overall, I'm mostly satisfied. I was looking for the lowest price with the most features, which this phone is: a compromise. But if money is no object for you, you can easily find something better.

I bought the phone two weeks ago and I have a problem with inserting the memory card...totally not cool.How do you insert the mnemory card so that it works.I want the back to close properly too but that never happens with the memory card n al.....HELP!!!

Could please someone give me an idea if nokia 3500 text font size is as big as nokia 2600? i really like nokia 3500 but before i buy it, i hav to be sure that it has a feature of huge font size for texting.
i will appreciate it so much if someone can give me the answer as soon as possible. thank you.

I just want to ask if nokia 3120 phones without NTC Seal and Nokia Care warranty are genuine...? I'm about to buy this unit by month end... and it's a gift so i don't want to get embarassed by its genuinity. I would gladly appreciate anyone who would respond. Thank you. And which is better? Nokia 7210 supernova or Nokia 3500 or Nokia 3120 classic?
