yes it have the video calling capability, here is the rule: any phone which is 3G or more and have a camera is capable for video calling, but if if have a front camera video calling is easier and face to face, while when no front camera is exists you will only be show the caller of the video of the back camera.

Bought this phone for 8100 indian rupees and been using it for 3 weeks ..
Its absolute value for money... Dont think twice to buy this mobile.
1.Screen resolution and video playback is great.
2.touch sensitivity and feedback is very good.
3.In 1 day of using u will learn tat UI is infact very good and easy to use, with kinetic scrolling, and very fast response, while opening , editing messages, photos, music etc.,
4.Loudspeaker volume is decent and yes headphone volume is limited.. but thats because nokia sticks to some outdated European standards that protects for health concerns for loud Music etc., But if u attach any other good headphone other than nokia , sound is quite loud.
5. camera is decent for 2 MP but the options like geo tagging, ISO tweaking etc.,30 fps video recording are too good for the price.
6. Yes applications are limited, but you can always download any application tat fits for nokia 5800 to this phone.. I have installed Power MP3 (very good),quick office, adobe reader , Ybrowser etc., and yes the lates ovi maps and all the available maps downloaded via internet.
7.Without charging, battery lasted for 2 days after i just bought inspite of the fact that I was meddling with every phones features for those 2 days.
8. Music quality is awesome, I own ipod and had SE walkman.. this phone beats both.
9.Just installed the 'forever free' ovi maps. GPS navigation is very good.. with free voice navigation in so many languages. I downloaded both the maps application and Country maps via internet. Best part is unlike google maps since you download maps via pc, there is no data charges and google maps does not have voice navigation. There is a map loader software with which we can directly load maps via pc to phone. there is some European Maps of size more that 2 gb. India map is around 110 mb.
10. fm is too good with RDS function also.
11. Browser was also very good with http, flash support. btw you can also download and use opera mobile for symbian touch series.
some limitations that i found were,:
Music player has limited functionalities ..
screen legibiility is poor over sunlight.
Limited applications... for such cheap price i guess u can buy this phone handsdown.

Anybody know where the US(WCDMA 850/1900) version of this phone is available? I saw it online a few months ago but can't find it now. A call to Nokia USA regarding this was totally useless.

Friends,
I store music in my PC in different folders. I had transferred the folders to mem card. Can I create a playlist from folder i.e. adding all files in a particular folder in one go instead of clicking on each file to add to playlist

Probably the biggest news ever from Nokia which is going to change the Navigation market forever : "Nokia blesses all its smartphones with free voice-guided navigation"
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_blesses_all_its_smartphones_with_free_voiceguided_navigation-news-1397.php
Nokia 5230 is included. Just getting GPS in its price range was not enough it seems, that Nokia now provides free voice guided navigation. This means you can download your city map (or any other city's map) on your phone and never get lost. Whenever you want to use it just start the application and it will, literally, speak to you, tell you where to go, which direction to turn.
Rest all competing handsets in its price range can take a hike, its an xtreme value addition to 5230 owners. Samsung Star, Corby, LG Cookie, you're finished.
