I'm sorry but this phone is crap. Got one a couple of months ago: battery life sucks, sounds quality is Ok but music player software is horrible. Each time you refresh the music content of you micro-SD, the music player do a full scan of the card that takes about 3 minutes to complete in a fully loaded 2 GB card. After doing this, the swaping from an album to another will take about a minute to the music player, when a single music file launched from browser takes about 2 second to load. This is a clear bug on the firmware, and still is unresolved. After several fights with Nokia service center, finally I get my money back and bought an awesome SE W810. The difference between the two devices is simply brutal.

FYI nokia does not cover warranty for cracked or broken stuff on the phone. warranty comes under faults with the phone. That is not a fault that is just normal use. Cant do anything about that im afraid. just have to deal with it. So yeah nokia won't refund that under the 1-2 year warranty you get with the phone.

My son and I bought these phones in late May, both screens are jacked up. I was talking on my phone coming home from work last night, finished call and put it back in my "holster" went to use it again and the screen had a cracks underneath the clear "plastic"! Happened to my sons as well. Very fragile I guess. Moral of story you better have insurance when you buy this phone........

p.s yes the screen is a bit flimsy, with slight pressure the screen can bend it. and it scratches easily too. it is not embedded that is why

ok i have had this phone since Feburary. I no this phone and am going to answer some questions
Yash is full of it. you can only listen to it for 8 hours in flight mode. and it isnt even 8 hours. they say 8 hours under the assumption that the volume is very low, the screens light is never on, the phone is not touched at all. still not 8 hours. trust me i have tried.
Farhan - I am sorry to say but that sounds pretty real. People do anything to get a good profit and selling it under the name of nokia is a perfect example. do not buy it from that store
Shaam - They dont have to look at Sony Ericson. The Sony Ericson phones have a very big disadavantage. Each phone that is a really good one, K750, K790, W800(list goes on) have a joystick. They wear out from frequent use in about 6 - 12 months. So if you do go for a sonyericson...be careful which one u buy
Wael - cam is not bad in good light, in bad light u can switch night mode on and that solves the problem
Video?? well dont fall over your feet or anything, its nothing spontaneous. Sound is good at start but does wear out. is crackly on full volume
S - You are definatly over exadurating. the internet is no different to any other non 3G phone, so no1 get too excited. Sound is very average. yes it is a good size but wat about the flimsy slide? they sacrificed too much in making it compact and good for a simple and VITAL feature of a firm slide.
strypz - wait six months then get back to us on how it is
nokia 5300 - wait a little while and be more conservative. it is a great BASIC phone.
finally to the person who didnt give a name - if the cam isnt the main feature then wat is? i thought it was the music player but u sed that is crap too. but u gave the camera more credit then the sound. wow man make ur mind up
i am not a noob with phones. i can give u a hand. email me or ask me here i have no troubles with answering questions. i no a lot about nokia and sony ericson particularly (these are the brands of phones i have had)
It is not a bad phone. it gets you through the day. one thing people haven't said is i don't reccomend this phone to people who text a lot. the battery isnt amazing and when u are sliding the phone up and down every few minutes. wow it munches at the battery. "but the reviews say its got amazing keys" yeah keys are amazing. just they put the idea on the wrong phone!!

This fone is the best my opinin is to buy that fone and who ever say that nokia 5300 sucks they are a loser

ehh it kinda sucks. after a while the loudspeaker can mess up. the sound quality is also fuzzy and crackly when it's loud. and then the loudspeaker may have problems playing, like sometimes sound wont' come out or the volume wud mess up if you were pressing buttons while listening to things with the speaker. and then you'd need to tap the phone a lot to get it to play again. well that's what happened to me. don't know if anyone else had the same problem.
the camera's only ok. kinda lame. but the camera's not the main feature of this phone so i guess it's meant to be crappy?
and the power button at the top is kinda hard to press. you can't just hold the phone in one hand and finger the power button.
overall this fone sucks. don't get it. get something better.

i adore this phone..im really wishing that my father is willing to buy me this phone..haha..n to the people that hate or saying this phone sucks..don not open this page anymore..coz..if u really hate this phone..go ahead n find other phone..we that love this phone is willing of u guyz not opening this page anymore!! =)

Good Phone! In russia I use it every day and use card 2Gb and everything ok. And i like the camera, without flash, but good for art photo. Use it! ) But sometimes when I prevew photo, memory write: "Don't have free memory". ((

I got the phone yesterday. I love it! speakers are very loud and camera it 1.3 MP! video is good quality

weak LCD..
average sound quality
captured images are grainy with a blue tint..
if u r lukin for a camera phone please look for another company like sonyericcson..

This is a fantastic mobile set no doubt!But my q is abt another thing.U see i'm living in Bangladesh where the only licenced Nokia distributor imports all Nokia sets probably 4m India under the banner "Made By Nokia".I heard that this mobiles r assembled in India & at some point they lack of some key feachers that the original finnis sets!& somtimes they produce problems make the satisfaction level to Zero!
Is it really true???
Pls hep me find out!
So that I can buy this awsome piece of eqipment without hesitation...

In my opinion, I recommend you buy Nokia7610 because for the slide phones easily damage the connection cause white screen or some problems but if you want to upgrade you can choose Nokia5300, decision be detemined by yourself.

hey,i've read some comments here about the nokia 5300 can u tell me plz...if its a worthy phone or not...because im gonna buy it within 2 weeks...i dont know which is which...because there are statements that bias and unbias to these phone..

this phone sucks. it also comes in lilac, which is the color i got, and its as ugly as hell. the screen is really really flimsy. camera shots at night are below average and so are the recording capabilities are mediocre. this phone sucks a lot
