never change the keapad only original ones works fine you can change the housing only, take care of the music keys it might brake if you press it very hard many times, 2gb card works fine even if it's copletely full sound is awsome according to the head phones , the phone gives it all it's power exactly like computer , try a good computer headphones and you'll hear the same sond and the same bass like winamp, it's like an ipod. cam is good without zooming the pics are uup to 1280*1024 and this is good
for any one say it's camera is bad, thats pecase the scratches and the dust on the back cover, try to remove the back cover and clean the camera lens and take a photo and you'll see the difference, i have like 1000 games with j2me and s40 ( jar, jad, sis ) and it's 320 x 240 so all the games works fine, update the software via your usb cable and it will remove all problems. it's on'y proplem that with my 2gb memory card it takes about 3 mins every time i replace the battary yo update songs library , and also when you chose a song from the list for the firist time after replacing the battary but the second time it works fine, very good keas and slider, screen, perfect sound, good, fast camera in the light but night mode is too slow and it's only for very still pics, it makes a much better light but very slow
video player plays most of mobile vids, eqalizer is perfect, it can blow your ears , it supports many animated s40 themes and scran savers and this awsome, buy it but if you can get 5610 it's way better :) and 5310 is better in music but not in the camera cause it spport up to 32 gb memory 5610 spports only 4 gb .

I Had been using this phone for like 8 months now and right now I am using a Sony Ericsson K800i. Not a bad phone. Great music quality. Nice screen resoloution. The camera aint that nice. Well it snaps a bit better quality pictures with night mood on. Otherwise when the pictures are transfered into the computer(snapped without night mood) it becomes worse. The phone never let me down. Initially a very great phone for regular usage. And out of 10 I would rate it 8.

Hi all,
i have been using this phone for a year now and must say it is a good investment. Battery life is decent, build quality is good, It works just fine even though it has fallen down a few times. The quality of the music is good enough for someone who isnt too fussy. The camera is okay for a 1.3MP, when i tramsfer the pics to my PC it looks eevn better. Havent experienced call drops except in places where th e signal is weak. i can carry on a conversation in a lift as well. The slider works fine and has never creaked or groaned on me. The only con I feel is that the memory card is not hot swappable and the back cover is annoyingly difficult to remove. I transfer data to my card in USB mass storage mode as I feel that transerring to phone first is a little annoying.
I have wanted to buy a smart phone for some time now but cant get my self to stop using my 5300. Its a good phone. dont think twice before buying it.

I recently purchased a Nokia 5300 and it has the best camera ever. I think the internal memory could be slightly larger rather than being 10MB only. It can hold up to 15 pictures with the internal memory. It's perfect when you buy a 2GB memory card.

does anyone know how to delete a virus from the nokia 5300?
i have 2 folders on my memory card in the images folder that i am unable to delete.. if i try to delete it will say "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk." and if i drag it to the recycle bin.. it will say "Cannot copy file: Cannot read from the source file or disk."
i'm not sure if it is a virus.. but it is very bothersome
my screen also turns white sometimes when i slide open the phone... and my speaker doesn't work either when I slide the phone.. i have to use loudspeaker instead
i've had this phone for almost 2 years now and im not sure if it is going broken already.. can someone please help? thank you =]

I've been using this phone for about a year now, so I've got my own opinion about it.
The camera is pretty much good enough to get the main subject of your shot as long as you can get close enough to it. I feel that the camera's zoom gets too blurry after you zoom though so the more you have to zoom, it tends to be harder to see your subject clearly. It shouldn't be used as a main camera (or as a substitute for a digital camera)
The speakers are pretty damn clear, loud and nice. Definitely a fairly good music player.
The buttons are quite good and easy to use. I haven't had any problem with them at all over my year, except when I changed my shell for the first time a few weeks ago, the new buttons that came with the new shell felt very tight and it was hard to press. More so the keypad, so I asked for the keypad to be changed back to my old one.
The side buttons are quite useful, but be careful if you're in school and you don't want your music to suddenly blast out through your speakers so make sure your phone's locked =P (not that it's happened to me before) - however I should add, and I have no idea how, but my play/pause button became lose and I had to get that fixed.
Battery life is a little bit short for me. With the new-ish battery I bought recently, it can probably last a little over 2 days (I switch my phone off when I sleep) before it needs a recharge.

perfect user interface, perfect sound with big headfone, super bass according to the headfone it really has very good sound chip and player and battary is fair enuf 4 music good camera,i got it used with bad loud spaker but it's original one is fine, but remember its amazing in music and it's software is very nice and you can instal whatever you want, it's really nice music fone. with good camera

5300, 14 Feb 2009features are almost same but the resolution of 5300 is quit... moreonly thing i liked in this mob is its slide........
its the cheapest music edition mobile.
