I got this phone last month from a T-mobile store and after about 1 week I took it out of my pocket and noticed the screen had a big crack in it. I hadn't dropped it and can't think of any thing that would have caused this. Neither T-mobile or Nokia would replace the phone or screen, so I bought a new screen from ebay for about $30. It is still working after a month, but I would not recommend this phone to anyone b/c of the screen breaking issue.

wow !! i bought the nokia 5300 hp todae ( black colour wan lah !) Sorri i so long never post liao !!! its s good fone...but how long mus we charge the hp...mine is 10-12 hrs.....wat about u all ??? :)

To date I have had the worst experience with any company, EVER!!!, with Nokia.
I purchased a Nokia handset (Brisbane, Australia) in March this year. From the very first moment I used this phone it would reset itself all the time making receiving and making calls impossible. I went back to the shop I bought it from and they advised me it would probably be a software problem and fixes were available on the internet. I tried all the software updates but this did nothing to help the problem, so I took my phone in for repairs at Fortitude Valley (Brisbane Australia) Nokia Care Centre. I received a call from them telling me that there were two problems with my phone. 1. The resetting problem and 2. The slider was coming away on the inside which would cause problems with my ringer. The quote for fixing the slider was something like $77. I declined to have the slider fixed as I had not been experiencing any problems with the ringer and knew that my phone had not received any physical damage whilst with me. They told me the resetting problem had been fixed and that I could collect my phone. I picked my phone up and was told the work to fix the resetting problem had been carried out and that it should be fine now. Well it is not. It is worse than ever actually. It resets more than ever and now wont play music without cutting in and out.
I called the Nokia Care Centre and explained my problems. I was put through to Sheralyn, an extremely aggressive supervisor who delighted in yelling at me and letting me know that the phone hadn’t been fixed at all because I declined the quote to have the slider fixed. I tried many times to explain to this aggressive woman that my problem was with a resetting issue which I was told had been repaired. I could not get through to her, she kept yelling too loudly at me to hear anything I had to say.
I called the Sydney office number, diverted to the Kuala Lumpur call centre, where I spoke with two customer service representatives and then Ben, the Customer Service Supervisor who insisted that the problem rested clearly with me, despite the fact that I'd put the phone in to the "Care Centre" with only the resetting problem and it came out still with the resetting problem plus a new problem. I was on the phone with him for over 20 minutes, requesting that they replace my handset, which he said he had authority to do, but would not, as I had elected to not have the handset slider issue fixed, "the phone warranty conditions were not met"
I am extremely disappointed in how my problem with this phone has been handled. The phone not working has been a terrible inconvenience, as I have had to buy a new handset, with which my sim and memory card work perfectly. The problem is obviously a faulty handset, which after searching on the internet reveals that this common occurrence with this model Nokia. I am about to buy 2 new phones for the family and was set to buy Nokia again but after this horrific encounter I will not and I'll tell as many people as I can of my experience........
I am a Business Unit Manager of a global, Australian ASX listed company, and we currently purchase thousands of Nokia phones per year. Based on my experience I can only recommend that we should actively seek an alternate supplier in case this response is the norm. I cannot understand your warranty stance and lack of consideration of costs associated with trying to deflect warranty claims. I am sure that by the time you and all of your employees have read, listened to and responded to my concerns, that you could have replaced my handset many times over.
Also, FYI, I will be taking this issue to The Office of Fair Trading if a positive outcome (a new handset) cannot be achieved within 7 working days.

dont buy dis fone its too poor.i've just bought it and the sound is very bad without the earpiece.i consider dis fone the last of last

Nope can not install .sis files. They are only for symbian or series 60 phones. this is a series 40

This model doesnt come with a flash. you dont have to pay for music bro just connect it to pc and do the drag and drop and put your music on to the memory card
If you are talking about downloading music on to the phone, you cant do that.

this phone is not bad... the only thing is the battery life nt up to standard.... i charge it everyday... everything seem okay for me... the music is good... but if u wan to get a phone whice has good in music try this or walkman phone... P.S i been using this phone for 6 mths.... nth happen... only battery

this phone is a good phone because it has a lould speaker, fm radio,nice song and a music player that i always wanted.this phone is soooooooooooo expensive that i buy last time but now it is soooooooooo chip.at list this phone has a 1.3 magapixel camara that i always wanted and the camara is very clear.and this phone speed is very fast not like my nokia 6070 last time the speed is very slow like a mouse and the screen is very small at list my nokia 5300 screen is big enough that i always wanted.this phone is very fat but this phone is still the best. you shoud buy the nokia 5300 then nokia 6070 because the speed is very slow like a mouse and the screen is very small and it is a verrrrrrrrrrrrry old phone aredy.

i had this phone for about 5 months until it was lost and i had no problems with it except that the battery is the worse i had to charge it everyday

The 5300 phone really sucks... compared to my old z800. speaker sometimes not working!!! and If I'm going to use the camera, a CAMERA ON STANDBY message always appears... I already updated the firmware but still the same issue. Anyone can help me for this waste of money gadget... Please... just email me. Thanks
