      Great phone with 2 reservations :-

      1. No flash (at least you should know this before buying)
      2. The keypad, this has completely peeled off my phone, rendering the unit useless. I'm hoping Car Phone Warehouse as tyhe nominated Nokia repairer will sort this out for me, but I am not sure how long the repair will last.

          just got this fone, absolutely blistering. brilliant features (heart monitor is a nice touch). if you need a tough fone get it, much better than 5140.

            @Muhammad Tahir
            Nokia 5500 has all connectivity solution but it's processing speed is slow, Key pad is ease, one of my friend changed its key pad if Nokia improve its key pad then sure it will sell more and inspire the active youngester.

                      @Jimmy

                      Have you really tried other S60v3 themes on the 5500? I've tried but it doesn't work. The installer simply says that the installation isn't supported. Did you alter any settings? I just might be doing something wrong.

                        Just got a 5500. The text input languages which are there are Dutch/French/Enlish/German and Turkish. I really need Italian as well. Does anyone know how to add another language to create SMS?

                          in terms of themes, any series 60 v3 theme will work. so themes for n91, n73, 3250 ect

                          and my KEYPAD has stuffed up for the 2nd time. its not as bad as last time yet but its already bubbled. im just gonna keep on getting fixed until its end of warenty then sell it off

                            That's a problem in most (if not all) Symbian phones.

                            @5500
                            No, it's not a 3G-capable phone. It's one of the few that aren't in Nokia's latest releases.

                              nokia nutters.. what a shame.. its supposed to be a sport or durablity spec phone and the keypads falling down like marbles... they oughta publically apologise.. and pay ppl who bought the phone in the first place.. like me.. sigh.. but apart from that.. its a good phone..

                                I love the motion sensor, flash light, and the resolution of this phone, but this phone is testing my temper! Two months into using it, the keypads start to peel off and the phone couldn't get any signal. After half a month of waiting for Nokia Care Philippines to sort it out, the problem is still there and it only got worse. My calls are choppy and most of the time being cutoff even with full signal bars displaying on both phones. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that Nokia is making me wait for the arrival of the new front cover to fix the keypad issue which I know will start to peel off in a month or two. Sorry Nokia I won't be waiting for your keypad to arrive because im going to trade in the phone and this is the last Nokia phone that I'll ever buy.

                                Definitely a lemon if I saw one.

                                  This phone looks great-but why no flash for the camera, for a phone like this, not having a camera flash is really putting me off buying it. Its such a specd up phone, you would expect a camera flash but it seems to be the only thing missing.

                                    What on earth is nokia playing at. I've always been a nokia user, but as of late. I am turning towards the SE range. especially wiv the new W810i - K610i & the V630i. Come on Nokia, some more decent MP3 phones WITHOUT the dreaded joystick.

                                        At one time, I couldn't turn off the phone the normal way and the menu wasn't visible. The remedy was to remove the battery and then replace the battery.
