i have owned this phone for almost a year now and its great! the size and thickness is perfect. Not that bulky in the pocket. no 3g and no GPS but with Wifi.
latest firmware v31 is very stable and fast now. You should upgrade it to latest firmware to get the best of 5530. So far i dont see any problems with the latest firmware.
*UPGRADE TO LATEST FIRMWARE* before complaining. When buying this upgrade it first before using it.

al, 08 Sep 2010Hi Jett
Thanx man! really useful info. Just wondering - ... morehi al,
you're welcome...
but brother if you plan to hack your phone it needs to be on v20 firmware. after the v30 or v31 update you'll be unable to hack so be sure to check the firmware vn.
not that smaller brother, only smaller to 5800's fonts due to the smaller screen. :)
Goodluck!

al, 08 Sep 2010Hi Jett
thnx for the quick reply! anyway, I'm getting it... morehi there al,
don't mention it brah.. im always willing to help like brother Nuwan and Nikko helped me..
no brother, not the phone, nokia will upgrade the phone's firmware.. and im sure there wouldn't be any issues because the purpose of updating phone's firmware is to correct all the previous issue's that the phone may encounter...you may bring your phone to nokia care center and have your phone updated for free ofcourse under warranty or pay 500 php.
or you can do it at home via OTA(update over the air) or using your internet connection in pc suite..
yes brother you can drag and drop or copy paste it thru 'mass storage'(just connect your phone to your usb and plug it in the computer).
Cheers!

Nikko, 08 Sep 2010To those who have doubts on getting this phone. Do not hesi... moreDear Nikko,
I need to tell you one thing brother... After installing 'Widgetizer' my phone was bit slow... So I did some research about it and here's what I found...
* Widgetizer and 3rd party themes have complications... (So I recommend you to use one of default themes with Widgetizer otherwise there'll be performance issues..)
* If you want 3rd party themes so badly, then you better get rid of Widgetizer
* Widgetizer is very light application so it doesn't eat RAM that much only it has complications with themes...
* If you shut down your mobile and remove the battery for some time, then you restart, you'll get bit more RAM than the amount you get just Rebooting the phone..
* You better disable Widgetizer auto start (using NetQin anti Virus) and manually start it... or you can even set an Auto start it using 'Jbak taskman' which turned out to be very very smart application...

I'm glad that you've solved 'Patching' problem... One more thing... You don't have to 'enable' patches all the time phone is rebooted... You can set it as 'Auto' (There is an option in Rom Patcher patches...) then it'll be automatically set to enable each time phone restarts... (But remember DO NOT SET Auto for 'Open 4 all' patch... Because it has some complications with some applications like 'Ram Blow')
I'm glad to read your comments and posts... (You're helping others and it's great...)

xplit, 06 Sep 2010have anyone tried swype on this handset???
i've just insta... moreDear xplit,
Nice to hear from you brother... after a considerable time... Right..? and of course with a good news...!
Thank you very much for your recommendation regarding 'Swype' from Nokia Beta labs... I just installed it in my 5530 and it seems to work just fine... (I still like to use normal key pad where I can type very very fast with T9 dictionary on...) But still that 'Swype' input method is cool and some other people may find it very useful..
as an application as well as a creative thought... that's very nice.. Cheers Nokia again... (But I think some Android phones already has that 'Swype' feature... Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...)
