need help, 30 May 2010hi i need help...is anyone here using this cell for around ... morei am usin this mob for more than 1 year, and till now i have not seen any major problem, but there are some minor problems like sometimes the mobile is very slow, mobile restarts on multi tasking,etc.
otherwise the touch is perfect......

Thank you so much for taking the time out to explain it to me. Sadly i tried it and its not successful. I get some prompt msg saying signtool is not recognised as in internal or external command operable program or batch files. So, no clue once again.
Do you think that smthing is wrong with the helloox2 files that i downloaded?

There is an application called 'Pencil Key' which enables a pencil key in your Nokia touch screen mobile too... Most probably the green color button will be assigned as the pencil key if you install that software...
Pencil key is a useful key when selecting multiple files from a single click for each...
Please google it for more details...
P.S.: If you have Nokia 5530 then don't worry about things to be done... Because you've got a smart mobile and you can get done so many things via 3rd party applications... Only thing is you will have to find them with an effort...

It's always being debated which one would win in terms of Music Quality between Nokia Xpress Music family or SE W series.. Actually human ear is not a good basis for those kind of tests because it's so subjective as it's directly connected with our brain... For unbiased test result we must check both audio devices with a machine which exactly GSMarena team does...!
So what has been the result so far...?
Without any doubt... Nokia Xpress Music family WINS over SE W series....!
If you don't believe me, please compare the Audio quality graphs of following phones.. (Please scroll down and have a look at the statistics of the tables too... Not only the graph itself...)
Apple i-phone 3GS: (Ideal Audio quality - for reference)

If you go through above links and study them carefully, then you will realize that SE W series can't even come near to Nokia Xpress Music family in terms of MUSIC QUALITY... (I'm talking about the Music Quality out put which depends upon the Music Chip inside the mobile..) But in terms of matters like 'Volume', 'Loudness of external speakers' etc... SE would win over Nokia... But I commented this whole thing not for Ordinary Music lovers... This whole details set is for Professional Music lovers... Apple i-phone would be the ideal solution for Professional music lovers... But i-phone can't come near to Nokia in terms of Software flexibility.. With Nokia, we've got plenty of 3rd party software support, Multitasking, more customization etc... But i-phone still don't provide them..
But SE W series phones (and even very expensive SE mobiles like Xperia X10) don't give us such a perfect graphs or statistics as either Apple or Nokia give us... But that's all about Music chip out put... The good part about SE W series phones is not the Music out put quality... It's indeed the default SE headset they provide with the Box... Nokia (or even apple) default headsets are really weird... But SE provides us very good quality headsets which are capable of hiding SE devices internal music chip distortion levels... (Nokia should learn from SE...!)
But regarding Camera...! Sony Ericsson Rocks...! Nokia can't even come near to Sony Ericsson mobiles in terms of Camera quality.. Specially SE K series have great mobile cameras... Now Sony has so many new mobiles which have better cameras.. (Eg: Satio with 12 MP but I heard it's not as impressive as the no of Mega pixels it shows..)
So... at last, I can say this...
If you want a Great Music Player...
Then Buy Nokia Music Xpress Series phone or X series phone.. (But through away the default Nokia headset and buy a decent headset...)
But if you want the camera more than the Music,
Then Buy Sony Ericsson mobile...

Well... You seem to be unknown about file extensions... OK.. Doesn't matter..
If you're using windows, then do the followings in order to see the file extensions...
Open My Computer - Click on Tools in Menu - Folder Options - Go to Tab 'View' - Remove the tick 'Hide file extensions'
Now you will see your 'HelloOX2' as 'HelloOX2.SIS' and certificate file as (file name).cer and key file as (file name).key (Those last parts beyond the full stop are called file extensions... In windows operating systems those are hidden default...)
Yeah.. Your guess is right... SIS means 'helloOX2'
You have to select HelloOX2 as the SIS file
Then there are two other spaces just like SIS... One is for Certificate and other is for Key... You said you already have those two files... Right...? Then select them just like you did with HelloOX2... (I mean key file to the Key selection and cer file to the certificate selection...)
You don't have to do anything with a password... After selecting above 3 files just click on 'Sign' button... Then a command prompt will appear and will show the message 'Signed Successfully'
(That means your 'HelloOX2.SIS' file is ready to be installed in your mobile...)
Then close the signer application (because it's job is over..) and transfer the signed HelloOX2 to your mobile... (Copy and paste it in memory card) and open the file manager from your mobile and go to the particular location and open the 'HelloOX2'
Then Installation will take place... Very Easy...!
(If you don't want to see file extensions in each and every document you have... Then put the tick again besides 'hide file extensions' in folder options...)

There is no "Mark Several" option neither in the Gallery nor in the "File Manager"... There is only an option either to mark one-by-one or marl ALL ...
How am i supposed mark several files at a time???

In file manager/gallery there are two options, either "select" or "select all". Don't know if you noticed that, maybe it helps.

I am so sorry but I am really not getting it. I opened the signer file and i got this window which asks me to enter SIS file.Is that Hello Ox2?
I can't figure out what the key file password is either...
If i try to open the HelloOx2 file then my computer just shuts down.. is that normal? Please send me the instructions step by step.. its driving me nuts and i am sure with all my questions.... you are going nuts too.. so sorry.. please help.... thanks

Hei.. You've almost done if you have downloaded both .cer and .key files & HelloOX2 and Sign tool...
And who told you to copy them to your mobile...?
You have to sign the 'HelloOX2' first using your computer...!
Just unzip the 'Sign tool' and use that signer application to sign 'HelloOX2'... When doing this you should insert .cer and .key files to signer application... When you open the application you will realize what to do... (You should do this in your computer... You can't do this in your mobile...!)
After signing you will see a message 'Signed successfully' in command prompt and you're good to go.. That means, after successfully signed, you can transfer this 'HelloOX2' to your mobile (through bluetooth or data cable) and you should open it in the mobile.. Then it'll be installed... (click 'yes' to all the questions..)
Then follow the rest of my instructions...

I'm also from Sri Lanka.. So I can answer you better I suppose..
The first thing is brother...
Nokia 5530 doesn't have a GPS receiver in built... (Like Nokia 5800 or 5230 does...)
So you'll have to buy Bluetooth GPS receiver which can be bought around 7000 Rs from ebay.com (If you have a credit card and paypal account....)
The Second thing is brother...
Even though you get a mobile like 5800 or 5230 which has GPS, you won't be able to catch GPS signal in most of the areas in Sri Lanka specially when you're moving fast and if you're covered by trees and all...
There are two reasons I can think,
a) There are no sufficient GPS satellite above Sri Lanka
b) In-built GPS receivers in 5800 and 5230 are not that powerful..
I have a separate GPS receiver which I bought from ebay... And it (paired together with 5530) catches GPS signal better than my 5800 does... But even that can't be used for navigate while watching google maps just like we can do in European countries..

Even though your SIM card and the service providers support 3G & 3.5G, if you mobile phone doesn't support it, you can't get the facility at all..
As for your second question, yeah.. You can make calls via skype through wifi and it's very fast if your wifi internet speed is fast enough...
I totally agree with you when it comes to the looks of this mobile... I have both 5800 and 5530 but I always carry 5530 with me as my primary mobile phone... Just because it's great Music quality and Sexy look....!

overall its a good mobile. bought it yesterday. loving it. if u r looking for music, small in size and internet browsing go for this mobile. camera recording is not so good but no big deal in this much reasonable price.
