OK... First very briefly 'Hacking your mobile is not harmful at all'... If somebody thinks that way, that is ridiculous... Please read the following instance in order to understand why I said so...
Let's say you bought a barren land... Which is infertile... Now you want to make it a beautiful garden with vegetation (flower trees, fruit trees etc..) everywhere... Then what would you do...? You fertilize your land and plant the trees you want... Without the fertilization you can't plant any tree because it'll not be successful..
OK.. Now back to the point... Think about buying your symbian mobile is just like buying a bare land.. Then you want to fertilize it... That's hacking... Then you can plant anything you want... Just like, after hacking you can install any software application in your mobile as you want...
So if I ask,
'Fertilizing a infertile land... is it harmful to the land...?' What would be your answer...? (The obvious answer is 'No.. Not at all...')
Well... If somebody asks 'Symbian Hacking... is it harmful to the mobile...?' The answer is the same as above...!
Without the vegetation... What is the use of a bare land...? You can walk on it.. You can sit on it... That's all... But after the vegetation your land becomes a heaven.. Just like that, without hacking your mobile, it's just a phone.. You can call somebody and sms sombody... But if you hack your mobile... Then, the things can be done using it, become limitless...!
Now you see... Hacking your mobile is not harmful at all and instead it's the best thing to do..... Indeed it will brighten your mobile... (Personally I really don't like this word 'Hacking'. Not a good name for this purpose...! Many people afraid to do this, just due to this Bad name...!)
Remember one thing.. Just like fertilizing your land is not an easy task, as a newbie hacking your mobile also will not seem to be that easy for you... Please read following link to learn more about hacking, how to hack etc...

The screen looks small compared to 5800 much like its battery life which are exactly the feartures confusing me between these two phones..

I don't understand what did you mean by 'direct video calls' because without 3G and the secondary camera video calling is not possible anyway... But that is only through the service provider...
If you use Skype for the video chatting, then of course you can achieve direct video calling... But as 5530 doesn't have front camera, the other person can't see you though you can see him/her... OK..? If you would like to call that sort of a conversation as a direct video call, then YES.. this phone is capable of that... (What you have to do is search google for 'fring' for mobiles.. Then select the mobile as 5530 and download 'fring' then install it... After installing it in your mobile, you can chat though google talk, Skype, yahoo messanger, facebook etc... And through skype you can call anybody who's logged in to skype at the same time... Even video calls..)
As far as we refer the same to 'direct video call' then yeah... If the internet connection is fair enough, then there should not be any hassle at all... (Provided that the other person can't see you...!) Anyway may be there's a possibility to use the camera at the back, but I really don't know anything about it... Somebody please give more details if there's such option... At least we can use a mirror to show ourselves...!)

Yeah... You'll probably have to hack your mobile in order to install the cracked version of quickoffice... (Still you can sign the cracked software and try, but I can't guarantee you the success.. But hacking always works...)
If you're a newbie then 'hacking the mobile' will make you bit nervous because you will feel it's as bit complex... But actually it's not.. Yeah... It is normal that you have to set the date and time whenever you switch off the mobile and remove the battery for more than 60 seconds... But if you don't remove the battery, then that is not normal... There's one more possibility... Actually even after your mobile is switched off, the time and date still is secured and working because there's still a battery charge is available.. Even the battery went die for the mobile operations, the small amount remaining will be enough just to run the timer... But even that's gone, then you can't hope your phone to remember the time because it's got no power to do so... I think you can understand what I'm saying...
So in brief, even if you don't remove your battery, if the battery charging has gone dead completely (this may take considerable time because there is still a small amount of charge even for few hours which is sufficient for the timer only..) then you'll probably have to re-set the date and time... That's normal...

Neither the Screen nor the Camera cover at the back is scratch proof... Sorry... But if you don't loose your protective screens, then there will not be any problem in this regard... However even if you want to replace the protective sticker, there are plenty of great deals in ebay for very cheap prices...

Yeah... Of course you can hack almost all the Symbian phones of Nokia... So it's same for 5800 Music Xpress as well...

OK... There's a Youtube icon in 'Internet' group of the main menu... You're talking about that... Right...?
Hei... That's not really an application... That's just a bookmark to the particular site... For the application called 'Youtube' you have to search in google and download it to your mobile...
Why you should go for the application rather than the default youtube bookmark you have... OK... Answer is simple... The application is capable of playing High quality flv files and if you compare it with the book mark you have now, then you'll notice the difference...
Just go ahead and download the application 'Youtube' and it's totally free...

Hei Bro.. I brought this phn.. actually my GF brought it from dubai for me.. Its a Hungarian made and cost only Rs 24,000 there..
Phone is really great and its very user friendly. I dnt feel its bad to buy this besides due to one severe lack in the phn.. i.e the phn restarts automatically after appearing red and green strips.. dat is a huge lack in this phn bro.. I upgraded the firmware to v 20.0.080(the latest), and formatted the memory card, phn (by hard resetting with *#7370#) and removed all contact details and messages from SIM.. but the problem still exists.. if u found any solution plz let me know bro.. it will a great help for me.. my mobile num is 0777001304.. thnx 4 everything bro..

Greetings all...
I am a big fan of windows mobile OS, i had an I-mate JAMin, HTC Tytn II, and i was going to buy the new HTC HD2, but unfortunately it was still cost much (900+ USD), and my Tytn II got smashed on the floor, so i decided to buy a cheaper phone till the HD2 price go down.
So i bought the NOKIA 5530 XPRESSMUSIC, for only 240 USD, and after using it for 10 days now, guys i am very satisfied and glad that i bought this phone.
Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages between Symbian and Windows Mobiles:
Advantages:
1- 16M colors
2- Lighter OS and apps
3- Real digital camera
4- Stereo speakers, and loud ones
5- No need to install 3rd parties for alarms, interfaces, etc...
6- No more slow Bluetooth
7- No more screen alignments
8- No more restarts
9- Rarely use the pen
10- Wide range of apps, and games
11- You still can synchronize with MS Outlook and PC
12- You can assign your WAP connection to use it as default and run MSN, faster Gmail and other applications if you don't have a GPRS connection
Disadvantages:
1- You need to buy MS Office Suite
2- You need to buy Adobe Acrobat
3- No right click option
In conclusion, i never thought that i can work on Symbian OS after using Windows OS, but after using this phone i m sure i will never buy anymore expensive phones for just using windows, maybe just to try Android but Nokia phones features with the light Symbian OS is the perfect combination.
