Cyber-shot under dog, 05 Feb 2010yeah they have different hardware, with the 5530 in the v40... moreAdjusting the screen's sensitivity refers to either setting it to the maximum or lowering it to the desired level within its range. An overall hike in sensitivity than the original cannot be improved just with a tweak in the firmware.
Thanks.

Yeah this phone is AWESOME..
the answer to your question is that...
.open your music player
.clcik options
.there 'll be an option saying refresh library
.click on it and wait for few min, it will show how much new songs you have and add to your library, do this whenever you copy songs in your mobile! ;D

Nuwan, 05 Feb 2010Dear Luisito, Cyber-shot under dog, Kkkabirkkk or anyone wh... moreyeah they have different hardware, with the 5530 in the v40 I believed the guys from Nokia "configured" or tweak the UI to be more sensitive (example for some touch screen panels you can configure or adjust the sensitivity from the panels but it might eat more power)
Partial Kinetic scrolling must be the limited kinetic scrolling we're experiencing (a.k.a no kinetic scrolling through the main menu)

Thanks for your reply... If I have understood properly, I think you've misinterpreted what I've said... I meant this.
5800 screen looks darker when it's switched off.
5530 screen looks gray when it's switched off.
Remove the batteries of both phones and then have a look on both screens...
You will clearly see the difference..
I don't know why they're different but I guess it's because of the different touch sensing layers both phones have... (Just a guess...)
Could anyone please confirm or deny this...?

Wow man.. That's great... Just like I thought... I don't personally think I'll be able to get used with 'capacitive touch screen' as it's too sensitive... Resistive touch screen would be the optimum selection for me...
However as so many people argued 'Touch screen' sensitivity can be improved by firmware update I couldn't accept that and now it's clear that I was not wrong on that..
Even though you've compared Samsung Jet's resistive touch screen with Nokia, still I didn't get the reply for what I asked... Can any body compare 5800 touch screen response with 5530 touch screen response and comment about it...?
I personally think 5530 touch sensitive layers are different than those of 5800 (When you look at the both screens you'll see there's a difference... 5800 looks bit dark while 5530 screen looks gray when the phone is switched off... I think that's because they have different touch sensing layers...) Please correct me if I'm wrong... Because that's just a guess...
Anyway, thanks a lot dear brother Lokesh... You just cleared a big doubt in me...

Dear Nuwan,
Though the smoothness and functionalities of a touch interface can be augmented with a firmware update, the sensitivity of the touch screen purely depends upon its hardware counterpart. Like the quality of two resistive circuit layers used. Though 5530 is brilliant, still it cant even make near the Samsung Jet's resistive screen. Or can a firmware update break the underlying technology to match the sensitivity of a capacitive screen of the Apple's? Though i haven't tested the 5800 with V40., this is wat its going to be.
Thanks.

Dear Luisito, Cyber-shot under dog, Kkkabirkkk or anyone who know better,
There are so many comments are posted saying,
'With the V 40 firmware upgrade now 5800 touch response is just like that in 5530.' but I honestly thought 'Touch response' was something more about hardware based thing rather than software based matter...
Can you please check the both phones (V 40 5800 & V 20 5530) and clarify this matter on behalf of all of us...? (I have checked 5800 with the previous firmware version and it is nowhere near to 5530 regarding 'touch response'. But I still didn't get the chance to hold a 5800 with V 40 firmware...)
In certain forums I read that '5800 has obtained many things from V 40 firmware but kinetic scrolling is partial...' Can anybody confirm or reject this too please...?
But anyway, I have to tell you guys this thing also... even though the touch response is proved to be exactly same in both phones, I still go with 5530 because I am so much used to this pretty device... (I'm not saying 5800 is ugly... But for me, the look of 5530 rocks... I will not even compare it with 5800...! No hard feelings mates..)
I don't really use 3G anyway... But I have to admit that I really miss the good Battery of 5800.

Jean, 04 Feb 2010Hi Nuwan and everyone else, i was wondering if u know how t... moreDear Jean,
Sending text messages from one Nokia mobile to another is quiet easy...! Don't you worry about it..
Go to Menu - Settings - Connectivity - Data Transfer - Sync
And in there you'll see there are a lot of things you can transfer or extract from one phone to another... You only want to extract your text messages, so select that one only and click 'Options' then 'Synchronize'... It'll ask to turn on your bluetooth... (Turn on the bluetooth in your old N70 as well..) then search for devices... Select your N70 and here we go...! Everything is done...!
(If you have a lot of SMS in your mobile, then it will take considerable time I'm afraid... May be half an hour... Be patient OK...)
Good luck dear friend...
