i think guys you have to switch your old version to the newest. like what i did.
after switching version my battery life lasts for 2 days with normal usage. no joke. and i was surprised. :)

Hennessy, 01 Jan 2010try SENNHEISER headphones. I promise you, they're the best ... morei owned a senheiser b4 it's great, forgot the model though.. Well depends i liked the 5530's sexy looks than the 5800 really it's sexy especially the pink variation but the 5800 has a bigger screen,a more power stereo speaker qnd a carl aeiss branding (although the branding isn't a very big deql because it bring almost the same performance , I mean very bad performance. . That maked me wish my k800 comes back) so depends if you want a sexy hot chik than choose 5530 if you want more brains 5800 is better for you

The 5530 has really some high distortion compared with other phones, but it's easy to adjust the equalizer, and there are two phones that i admire with clarity the Aino and the 5220 xpress music, don't get me wrong when i plugged in with the shp1900 philip earbuds it was crisp and clear reqlly clear with a default preset.. But the one from the 5220 was crispier.. And the light fx is a welcome bonus (the 5530 doesn't not even dedic8ed buttons)

Regarding earbuds I will strongly suggest you to buy one of followings,
1) Creative EP 630
2) Creative EP 830
The first one is cheaper but have great overall performance. Second one is more expensive and has extra bass but I personally find it more than needed...
So If I were you I would go with Creative EP 630.
Hei... Don't get caught to fake creative products...! They are everywhere and you really can't identify them... So please buy those ear buds from an original and trustworthy retailer...
I've heard Sony also has very good ear buds... But I know very little about them.. I know about creative and it has served me for past few years even with my PC... (For great sound, you must go with Creative Labs...!)

My opinion is not for all Sony Ericsson phones... Please understand that...
I read the review of SE W995 and the sound quality check done by GSMArena...
When I compare those test results in Nokia 5530 what I could get was, Music quality is very good in both 5530 and SE W995... (More or less in each quality measurement category)
1) Frequency response - SE W995 wins
2) Noise level - Nokia 5530 wins
3) Dynamic Range - Nokia 5530 Wins
4) THD, IMD - SE W995 wins
5) Stereo cross talk - Nokia 5530 wins
As you can see, both phones have very good music chips... Further you may say this and that is better based upon your personal preference...
The friend who told K230 is better than 5530... Please have a look at above details... I compared Nokia 5530 with SE Walkman series W995 (the newest SE walkman phone so far...).
Do you still have anything to say about your sister's K230....? Then sorry... Check your ears...!

Guys. . especially nuwan and other people around this forum may I ask what good earphones are great paired with this sexy hot phone. . . I am planning to buy an Mdr (Sony earbud or head phones, not Sony ericsson's ok?) or a Phillip earbuds or even a Bose, please post your answers right now. . . thanks I'm an audiophile, and the earbuds that came preinstalled (the in-ear thing) isn't sufficient with me,it's good but but not Great! ! so please, advice me with a good pair I only got Mdr-XD200 for a replacement but it's quite big so I used it with my computer. . . thanks

I think you know me already and what I'm telling here I tell you with facts and with reasons...
This is as a reply for our anonymous friend who tells us about his sisters SE k series phone (which is cheaper) which has overpowered Nokia 5530 in terms of music quality...!
I don't really know about k230 because personally I haven't experienced it... But I have already checked my handset (5530) with SE k800 and SE W660 (Walkman phone) under following conditions.
1) Same song
2) Same equalizer settings
3) Same room & time (Humidity, environment noise level and room temperature should be almost similar)
4) Same headset (which is most important)
5) Same ears (certainly my ears)
The results were in favor of Nokia not SE. I'm sorry for SE lovers but I'm telling the truth...
Also I observed followings.
1) Nokia Music Chips are similar or better than Sony ones
2) Sony Headsets (ear buds) are way better than Nokia headsets
So once anybody just buy a phone, and when he/she checks its music quality using it's own headsets, then it's obvious why Sony always wins...! Because it provides very good ear buds with fair enough sound chips..
Nokia provides extremely poor ear buds with very good sound chips...!
So people at the first glance will say,
"Ooh my god... SE is way better than Nokia..."
But that is only until you buy a very good Creative headset and check the two phones with that same headset...!

...how ironic!!! my 11k N5530xm is OVERPOWERED by my sister's SEk320i in terms of music quality. just to mention that k320i isn't a music phone!!!
