eshaan, 11 Aug 2009Ok i understand what your saying and about the UI being mor... moreI'm not saying 4GB isn't enough for everyone. What I'm saying is that given the tendency that people have for always needing more, having 8GB will be better, even if 4GB are enough for you now.
And of course there's people like myself, which have a music collection of 6GB (and some people think that's small) and 4GB just isn't enough. Besides, you forget that the space is also for videos and pictures, which may or may not have been taken from the phone. Movies, for instance. I have quite a few of them in my mp3/mp4 player. (doesn't really play .mp4 so I call it an mp3 player that can play videos).
About buying additional cards. For that matter, I can go buy an 8MP camera, and a 32GB mp3 player. Ok, they're alot more expensive than a new card, but that's not the point here. The point is, you have to buy it, it doesn't come with the phone.
If you're that opposed to paying for using 3G, why is buying a card acceptable?
Also, GPRS is slower than 3G. You pay for what you get.

Well, you can always try. We might see some good changes in the near future.

IEatCookiesForBreakf, 11 Aug 2009About 3G. Almost everywhere? Are you really sure it's almos... moreOk i understand what your saying and about the UI being more responsive i visit the dailymobile forums which is dominated by 5800 users. Attleast 90% of the peopl there have 5800's. So one of them who bought the 5530 and already has the 5800 has reviewd the phone and given extremely detailed reviews.
He says that the UI of the 5530 is definitely better and it is more responsive and the whole phone itself is very quick. And this is also the view of most of the sites who have reviewed this phone already.
Anyway that guy also said that the difference in the 2 phones is minimal so if you want the cheaper option 5530 is definitely better for you.
And well if you have urgent internet work and your not in the wifi spot you can yet easily use GPRS. I have a 6300 right now and all i use is GPRS and that's not so inconvenient and is DEFINITELY cheaper than what 3G is. And my house/building and college where i study have loads of wifi connectivity so that is again not as issue.
And well as for the 5800 getting the new features there s nothing confirmed by nokia yet so one can just speculate.
And yes about the processor being upped. There is again lots of debate over that. One nokia site had stated that the processor is clocked at a higher rate but many people who use the 5800 and have got the latest firmware update do not necessarily agree.
And come on you can't compare 50mb to 4gb. Ipod have their 3rd gen nano which is 4gb and that is immensely popular. 4gb will be enough space and if anyone wants to they can go buy a 8gb card which is quite cheap nowdays anyway. People who buy the 5530 know what their getting into so im sure they don't mind the 4gb

mediterranean, 11 Aug 2009well man stuck to your precious 5800
you are free to have ... moreCountering my question with another one? Why are you avoiding it?
I've used the cookie before, that's what showcases are for. Am I forcing someone here? I'm not pointing a gun at you. I'm merely pointing out the differences between both devices. If you don't like that, well who cares.
I'm as free to talk about it as you.
And about 3G, like I said, just because your country doesn't have it, doesn't mean other countries don't have it as well. So my point about it being 3G-less is still standing. It might be irrelevant for you and your country, but if you didn't think the world spins around you you'd see that it matters a lot to other people and their respective countries.
I am right when I say having no 3G is a big disadvantage. Whether that applies to your country or not is another completely different matter.

eshaan, 11 Aug 2009Well sometimes people just might want to buy a cheaper phon... moreAbout 3G. Almost everywhere? Are you really sure it's almost everywhere? And is it free in all of those places?
Look, the 5800 can also use WIFI. But, when I can't use it, and if I need to, I can use 3G. With the 5530 you are limited to that one option, and if it isn't available, then that's it. And you might think it's not a big deal, I can wait until I get to a WIFI hotspot, etc. But when that happens, you'll think how great it would be if I had 3G.
Trust me on this one, this is the human mind.
About the space. 4GB aren't enough for me. Nor is it enough for a lot of people. My music library isn't all that big, so 8GB is enough (for now). But I can tell you there's a lot of people to whoom 16GB isn't enough for all their songs.
We're not in the age of those 50MB mp3 players. People need space, more is better.
The processor has been upped, I've mentioned it before, tells how much of my posts you've read.
And it's official, so don't bother argumenting against that.
I've also mentioned before, a manager at Nokia said so himself, the 5800 will be getting the scrolling and homescreen of the 5530.
And about the UI being responsive, I'd appreciate you'd cite some source, because I can tell you have a preference for the 5530, so even if both have the same responsivness, you'll subconsciously prefer the 5530. Really, people are like that.

IEatCookiesForBreakf, 11 Aug 2009If you can buy the n96 then you can surely buy the 5800, ri... moreWell sometimes people just might want to buy a cheaper phone and the 5530 gives you that. And 5530 has kinetic scrolling and a better processor than the 5800 and looks better and sleeker. I have an option to buy the 5800 too but i would prefer the 5530 myself. Even after 2 firmware updates the 5800 does not have the kinetic scrolling and the UI is not all that responsive as compared to the 5530.
And as for 4gb and 8gb. Well 4gb quite honestly speaking is more than enough for music specially when songs get converted and reduced in size when being transferred. I could easily fit in 2000 songs on a 4gb card and that's way more than what i need anyway. I won't have over a 1000 songs anyway.
And well the touchy topic of 3G. I agree with Kabir on this. Even though places might offer 3g i don't really feel the need for it when you have the FREE wifi available almost everywhere.

explain to us about a processor, it's MIPS, it's Clock speed, their relation, their range, if they can be changed,..and any other details your brain has understood??? and relate these details with the rumours that the clock speed of 5800 has been increased from 369 to 434MHz...

n96?... moreIf you can buy the n96 then you can surely buy the 5800, right? Go for it, why'd you go for the 5530?
Even if you don't use 3G, regarding music the 5800 is the best. And it starts with space, having double the storage than the 5530.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970you don't know what i can do...you might regret later on what you saying now...so think before you write..
but let's end this here..
your logic are based on a false base..
and when did i say that my country doesn't have 3G...NTC which the best service provider at my place offers 3G service up to 12Mbps..and there are 2 others providing good 3G service, i dont know about the bandwidth they offer....and the service has been around here for 6-7 years now...and i bet it's in almost all countries ...i just said that people don't use it much..
there was more i liked to say...but who gives a f-ck...i don;t want to waste my time on a stupid ignorant stubborn fool like you!!
don't act like pus-y talking about reporting..you are making me laugh..

Anil, 11 Aug 2009Rightly said Kabir :))))
Hey u better go and have some coo... moreGreat. I talked about the new chocolate as an example, regarding the large screen. And there you go comparing the 5530 to it and the iPhone and whatever, when I'm talking about the 5800... Did you even read my entire post?
The only comparison between the 5530 and the 5800 was the 4 and 8GB cards. And 4GB isn't nearly enough for today's music needs. The thing is, the need for more space is always present. Even with 8GB, let alone half of it.
Those 128MB mp3 have long since faded into nothingness, even if you still think they're big enough.

"Simultaneously, wireless telephony networks using 3G offer smart phone users a sub-set of TCP/IP networking services, typically Web browsing and e-mail, but with far broader coverage than hotspots."
