I asked the price at a Nokia Gallery in Bangalore. The price in bangalore/mumbai should be the same considering 5800 is available at 16500/- in bombay and bangalore. The guy told me it will be available in 2 weeks time at 11.5k :)
If you got friends working in Nokia, they can get it at 1.5k less :) ... I am asking my friend in Nokia to order it once its available :)

I am from india and i can positively say i don't even know ONE person who uses 3G over the free wifi.
So is there any new news about the phone? Release dates and such?

new firmware updates should provide 5800 with the kinetic scrolling and all that it misses...and regarding the processor clock speed is a matter of assinging withing a range..both 5800 n 5530 and along with many others like n95 use same ARM processor..
still i'm not sure about the info about the processor because i didn't understand most of the stuffs i red..but the fact that they both use same processor is accurate..

its a good phone for the price it is selling.nokia could have lauched 2 models of this phone one with 3g and one without 3g like samsung did with star so that it would have satisfied both who want 3g and others who dont want 3g.
one question about this phone can anyone tell me if this has tv out feature?

Hey u better go and have some cookie.....People like are just there to critisize w/o any proper info...About battery even LG chocolate will come w/ 1000 mAh power which is same as 5530. I feel 4 GB space is also very much enough to store most of the stuffs.Infact u will get a 8GB card in just 1000bucks.
Buddy I will tell u this phone is rather coming coming out strongly as a high end phone with low price....
Its processor is far better than most of the high end phone. Forgot about 3G & GPS. iPhone having said a high end phone coming w/ just 3 MP, y it is so....
Sound quality will better in 5530 as compared to iphone,lg chocolate.
I love the way lg is coming out with so many good phones.I have already used 2 Lg handsets. but if we look at the price tag we are getting everything in 5530....

Lower battery life (has a crappier battery), sound quality, single LED instead of dual LED, coming with only 4Gb instead of 8GB, no 2nd camera for video calls, headphone jack at the bottom.
I can't stress this enough, it's good but still inferior to the 5800. Nokia isn't that stupid.

Also, the sharpness will be the same. The difference isn't big enough to see any possible difference with the human eye. When you say "a lot", you don't really know what you're saying.
The difference is big enough, however, to notice when watching fullscreen videos and pictures or playing games on a smaller screen.
You want a smaller screen? Go buy a normal non-touchscreen alphanumeric phone with a 1" screen.
There's the new LG Chocolate coming out with a 4" screen and I don't see anyone complaining, must be even better for watching videos.

What, you were actually thinking Nokia would give you a better phone at a smaller price? They're just making it look that way, so that they can sell more 5530 for those that can't afford the 5800.

Besides, they won't go for more than 434Mhz. With a touchscreen, high resolution, and made for intense music and video playback, the battery wouldn't last.
Sorry, but don't get your hopes up, it's just not happening.

in my own opinion, i think this mobile phone needs a lot of work, rubbish video, led for the flash is terrible and no 3g and also 1000MAH battery power is extremly poor for this type of music phone, because think of how much info and music you are going to put onto this espeically when you want to put your work documents onto this rubbish mobile. I wouldn't agree on buying this mobile, and the mobile looks shi*e in my own opinion.
