I have nokia 5530 for part 4 months it is just amazing music device,its design is very good and the application live Win7 and N desk are amazing.

has any1 else had major probs wid this fone? mines been in 4 repair n upgrades so many times (15times plus at least) the nokia shop dont even ask my name or 4 my details anymore! have even been told that nokia hav a prob wid the o2 network n ther fones is this true?

NUWAN BRO..got a question. Mine freezes sometimes. when I went to open the menu; it took time to load the applications. There's no running application on the phone. It still has the v31 OS on it. What is needed to be done? I pretty much delet some of the applications pre-installed.

Symbian Operating System is the OS which most of Nokia smart mobile phones use as their OS... It's Open source and extremely customizable OS compared to other mobile phone OSes... For more details please google it or find in wikipedia...

I've used several Nokia Xpress Music series phones for past 2 1/2 years of time and I'm pretty happy with the Audio quality of those handsets.. (I have tested my old 5220 Xpress Music phone which is a very basic mobile, with one of Walkman giants of Sony Ericsson, W980, W660 etc and finally came to the conclusion that SE can't come near to Nokia when it comes to Music...)
You can check what I say by yourself and see but the Music quality tests should be unbiased as I tested...
I used,
Same Headset, Same Song (with same bit rate), Default equalizer settings, and similar volume in both mobiles when I checked...
Nokia Music came crystal clear while SE music was bit modified & distorted.. (This same fact we can see by GSMarena Music quality test graphs...)
However please keep in mind, I'm not talking about Music loudness or loudness of external speakers... I'm talking about the Music QUALITY through headsets... As a Music lover, I'm pretty sure you know the difference between Quality and Loudness... (Most of people get confused in here..)
One more thing brother.. Although the Music out put (that means the internal chip) is better in Nokia, the original headsets provided by Nokia are very bad... Specially compared to very good Sony in ear headsets, Nokia headsets look extremely dumb... In that case, we have to give more marks to SE because even though their Audio quality is significantly lower than Nokia, they've won the name for Music quality just because they're providing good quality headsets... (I think most of people think SE walkman series sound quality is better than Nokia xpress music, because they check the quality using the default headset...)
So if you really want to feel the Audio Quality of Nokia 5530, do the followings...
1) Throw away the original headset and buy some really good dedicated headset... (Senheizer is the best but expensive)
2) Install TTPod player (3rd party application) and prepare your own equalizer settings which suit you best..
3) If you need more bass or more modified sounds, then use particular features of TTpod player..
However,
That's for Music Quality... When it comes to camera, Sony Ericsson is way better than Nokia... Sony mobile cameras takes very very nice photos which we can't take using a Nokia mobiles... (For an example, My mother's W980 can take really nice photos even without a flash compared to my Nokia 5530... But both phones have same no of mega pixels...)
Briefly,
If you want Music,
Then you must go for Nokia Music Xpress
If you want Camera,
Then you must go for Sony Ericsson K series
If you want both,
Then I recommend you to still go for Nokia because cameras of Nokia 5800 and 5730 are really really good compared to some other Nokia phones...

Had this phone for a year it was awsome favourite i ever had great features for phone in its price range easy to use and really costomisable

Hi guys!!
I love music so much and that’s why music quality does matter to me. I have been using Sony Ericsson W800 for two and half years and till now it is feeding my heart with pleasure. Still it seems better than iPod. Somehow nokia 5530 xpressmusic caught my attention. Its full touch function and beautiful outlook is awesome. Just getting confused before buying 5530 Xpressmusic about the music and camera quality and battery life. Hope someone expert nokia lover will help me.

1) To get the camera shutter sound back, go to profiles in settings.. Then select the profile you're using (General or silent or whatever...) and click options and then select personalize to modify it..
In the settings you get, scroll down and you'll see 'Warning Tones' has been set to 'Off'
Set that to 'On'
Now you'll get the camera sound back...
1) Use mobile Symbian versions of Nimbuzz or Fring in order to chat in Facebook, Google talk, yahoo messenger, skype etc...

Just refresh your Music Library of the Music Player... (I think this answer has already been given here...)
And one more thing... If you've not selected your memory card as the default saving location of messages, then those bluetooth files will be remained in phone memory as well.. So after saving them in to memory card (attachment folder just like you said), delete the original bluetooth files in order to save phone memory...

I just wanna say that I'm different from smiley and the fake Nuwan. I don't wanna explain further but my purpose of posting a question here is because I'm really having a problem with my phone and I know this site would help me. I really love this page, but it is so sad that I feel dissapointed with the things that I read. But then I just wanna say thank you to you Nuwan for helping me with my concern, you are really intelligent person, not all person blessed as you are. Keep it up.
