This phone is so basic!
It should take no time... moreThere were something called marketing strategy. as a big player nokia need to assure that supply would not stop. Therefore nokia releasing this phone all around the world in a several step. So that when demand in some market exceed their target, the supply won't stop.
They also need to time their sell with specific time in some market to ensure they got a very best review as possible. ex. if your country happened to have (presidential) election in 1 week or 2 week they will wait after that. So that they could bragging that they sell xx million unit in your country in 1 week/month. Or they could say many were lining up in front of nokia store to wait for this phone.
This all about marketing.

It has been released in many countries already. It's even available online on many sites so i don't think its long before we get it n india

I am waiting so eargerly to have this phone......

Even i thought of buying lg arena or viewty smart. Both are excellent phones with gr8 features. But I don't really need gps & 3g currently...so decided to go for nokia 5530 which is very less priced.
Please don't put up your nonsense in this forum by simply criticizing any of the phones without having proper knowledge on that....

As far as quality control!
Nokia is not so great!
Low-end touchscreen phones should work without any problems!

The problem with this phone:
PRICE!
It will be around 300 USD (or even more)!
50% more than LG Cookie or Samsung S5230!
NOT WORTH IT!
Nokia is taking advantage of their customers too often.
As the Koreans get better Nokia will loose big time!
(if they do not change their pricing strategy!)

we are in 3q 2009 and you only have three boaring touch screens which have no creativety
i mean come on even the simple lg cookie is more interristing and affordable
now lg has s class
samsung has 3d touch wise
what do u have the poor touch ui and the bad design
try to learn some thing from lg arena and samsung jet
and ihope u do it soon

there is this thing i gotta remind u guys - just becuz of a touch screen phone most of us dont wanna waste so much of money on a all complete or almost all options complete touch phone , thats where nokia comes with the nokia 5800 and 5530 , amazing isnt it . so far nokia is the only company that gave touch screen compatiable handsets for an affordable prize tag . while other product makers tries to suck the blood out of customers with a few touch screen products or with one touch screen product may i say . so far the lg cookie have been the only touch screen product for the affordable prize tag but it lacks so many features compared to the new nokia touch devices yet it got sold in millions around the world . the same with nokia 5800 and same will happen with the 5530 .
also may i remind u these xpress music touch devices by nokia are not designed to rip i phone , i phone is just one phone with all the respect to its designers the interface is best but lacks so many feauters , in this case may i tell u the truth nokia is the highest market mobile manufacturer in the world and it doesnt need devices to kill smaller competitors like the i phone . they got better stuff to do with there time .

This phone will be sold in very large quantity due to low price.
But I wanna say something about GPS.
Having a gps in a phone is a luxury
just the other day I went to china
and i wanna eat some mc. donalds / kfc.
having a phone that could tell me the nearest mc. d / kfc is priceless.. thanks for the nokia map / ovi map.
