sugam, 17 Sep 2008MAxg can u plz temme the version bout which ur sayin ..... ... moreMy phone is using v8.30 now. If you buy a new phone it should be already loaded with the latest firmware. However if it doesn't, you can still update yourself using Nokia Software Updater (download from Nokia website).

The firmware version v8.30 does not solved the problem of restaring (happened again while hearing music)+ there are problems with the sound quality too, although the Bass effect got improved, while setting to high values the sound gets distorted(it shouldn't happen right??,since its a music phone).
My overall opinion is although the perfomance(operation speed and all) got improved, the sound quality got degraded with this new version.
Nokia Pleaseeee provide a solution.........

im using nokia software updater but when its going to preparing installation...
it's failed...
it's said failed to prepare installation...
all of u know why??

I just bought this phone and my battery is terrible! It dies every single day whether i use it or not! I charge it every night for 6-7 hrs! any help???

i wud like to ask is 5610's... moreN73 and 5610 have equally good cameras (I have both phones). They are both 3.2MP with autofocus, and the carl zeiss lens does not make any difference.
As far as I know the european region 5610s got the latest firmware version of v6.60 while asian region did not get it, we got v8.30 instead. I'm not sure about other regions. But if you buy a new phone today, it should already come with the latest firmware of your region which has the following improvement from the previous firmware that many have problems with:
- backlight of the front buttons stays on for 10 seconds after you close the slide instead of turning off immediately
- camera suto-focuses very much faster now
- some new programs (depend on region)
- phone speed and battery life improved
- default theme using flash (SWF) wallpaper
- does not hang/restart anymore (finally)

basically m lukin 4 a gud cam 4 video rcrdin n takin pics,gud screen to watch videos,k sound quality n durable keypads

BCOZ OF NEW FIRMWARE UPDATE ... its now V 8.30 .... rather than 4.81 .. i upgraded the firmware using nokia software update .. its an automated process . ithink now the new phone ships with V8.30 only ..
To Check ur Firmware Version type :-
*#0000#
thn ur phone version will be displayed automatically. if its < 8.30 thn go for update !
+++ In V.830 :-
Believe it or not -- NO HANGING OF PHONE WHEN HEARING SONGS evn for more than 1 hour >> AND PLAYING GAMES .. i have nvr even experienced one phone restart aftr this firmware
NEXT IMPORTANT THING -- I cant believe it but battery lasts more than 2 days ..with frequent message sending (abt- 100 per day)
and speakin ovr fone. listening to music for 2-3 hrs roughly per day and sending some 2 - 3 files ovr bluetooth ... The battery lasts more than 2 days .. SO NO MORE COMPLAINTS ABT BATTERY BACKUP FRM NOW :d
Then -- Camera autofocus is now so speedy and very accurate ..
Also Sound quality's Bass effect has slightly been increased in thro speakers n earphones ..
SO BUY THIS FONE WITHOUT ANY 2nd THOUGHTS OF PHONE HANGING OR BATTERY BACKUP
