What cracking sound did you hear? Is it during playing radio or mp3 files?

Or do you mean wallpaper/theme?

5610 is problem phone due 2 e keypad delay and when start up still nd 2 wait 4 a while b4 it can b use. as 4 tis phone i sent 2 nokia care 4 2time 1st time took afew week 2 repair and they also change my imei code w/o updating me den e same problem again tis time took 2mth 2 repair and nw still have abit problem

Wow, now Im really getting upset.. I decided to try the headphones and the radio as an alarm clock, but guess what.. I started to hear the cracking sounds some people were talking about.. So annoying. If ANYONE knows how to solve this problem, please, let me know..

Even my phone becomes blank in between the converstaion n needs to get restarted after taking out battery.Thts happening when i even dnt listen music in it.

My phone also hangs once every few weeks apart, but not every 2-3 minutes as you said. And there are some people who never have hang problems with their 5610 at all. Maybe there are different 5610 made in different countries, and have different quality levels?
Anyway, what I can help you is, try to use a good quality microSD/SDHC card for the phone. I have experienced using a poor quality (slow) microSD card for my phone and it hangs more often than usual. Now I'm using a high speed (Class-6) 4GB microSDHC card and the problems has reduced a lot, as it only hangs after playing music for long hours, but never hang otherwise. Luckily, my phone never hang during a call which is the most important to me.

The little gap between the back cover and the phone is normal too. The gap is bigger at the right side of the phone (near the volume control buttons). The left side is ok.
My phone has no uneven lights on the keys. All keys are evenly backlit.

As I read here a lot of people are very glad with their Nokia 5610. Here is another sound: the Nokia 5610 I purchased is a complete disaster! It has all kinds of problems but the main problem is that it keeps falling out. Every 2, 3 minutse of use it stops and the screen is turning black. Right in the middle of a conversation or playing music. Sometimes just by moving it on the table. The only thing to do then is open the back and get the battery out to reset the phone. Then it has to start up again, just to stop a few minuts later. Do not misunderstand: the phone is in new condition, it hasn't fallen or so and there has been taken very good care of it. It has been send in to Noka for 3 times now, has been away all together for at least 14 weeks, the software has been reset 2 or 3 times and still the problem is there. Two days ago I received a new 5610 from Nokia but this one has exactly the same problem !!! Rigth te same day I received it, it went down on me!! I have never had any problems with a mobile phones until I got this 5610 from Nokia. I am desparate!!

Ah, yes, maybe other 5610 users have the same problem with the display? Maybe it's not a problem at all?
What about the upper keys and the back cover?

Well, after a loong time of studying reviews about this phone, I finally bought it(a month ago).
First of all, I was hoping for something more robust after my old Nokia 5140i; I still hold it carefully, am afraid of dropping it etc. But I guess this is always like that with new phones.
Second - I had some problems with my phone after just 6 days of purchasing it. It's display went blank so I sent it in for a repair, although I really wished the shop would just change the phone or give me my money back. After around 10 days of repair, I got my phone back, BUT that same evening the display had problems again.. It went blank for 1 second and then turned on again. This happened for 3 times that day so I had to go back to the shop AGAIN.. This time they aggreed to change it (after researching the phone for 12 days). Now (1 month has passed since I bought my first 5610) I have a new 5610, hopefully this one will last as long as my old nokia 5140. But again, last night the display of my new 5610 went blank for 1 sek. So maybe this is just a small problem for all 5610s?
There are some other small problems like uneven light on the keys that are on the upper keypad (the 2 white ones). But I saw the same problem on my old 5610 and another 5610 the shop showed me. Also, the back cover of the phone closes properly, but still there is some room left at the sides (a very small room though). Maybe I take these small problems too seriously since Im a bit of pedant. :)
But other than that, I can say that the phone's display is great - large and clear. Haven't compared it to other display's of the new phones, but comparing to my old 5140 the display's just great.
Sound quality - pretty good. The music player is neat, the speaker is good quality.
The camera - well, I assume it's ok, but since Im an amateur photographer, I'd wish for a better one.Still - for a phone camera 3.2 mp is really not bad.
I still haven't got used to the phone, though. After spending almost 3 years with my old phone, it's got sentimental value now :D
but I hope my 5610 lasts as long as the old 5140.

I am just curious about how 3G works. THis phone IS unlocked out of the factory and I would like to buy one and use it on Softbank in Japan. Softbank is W-CDMA 2GHz. WIll this phone work on softbank?

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I strongly recommend buying 5610. As you can see 5610 has higher specs than K770i in almost every aspect, like larger (2.2") screen, 16.7 million color display, 22 hours music, cool design etc.
K770i has only 1.9" screen, 262144 color, and 16 hours music only. In terms of camera, both phones have the same resolution (3.15MP = 2048x1536) so their photos should be similar. However, 5610 wins K770i in video capturing, because 5610 supports 640x480 video, K770i only 176x144 which is very very bad in today's standard.
5610 is also known to have an amazingly great quality speaker. K770i speaker is sub-par and although it is loud, the quality is not clear, and sometimes noisy.
5610 supports microSD memory card (up to 4GB), K770i supports Memory Stick M2 (up to 2GB only). Well, microSD is also a lot cheaper than M2 for the same capacity in GB. Why not you check out their price in your country? You will get what I mean.
Plus, 5610 has such modern and stylish slide design look compared with K770i which is so typical boring-looking bar shape phone...
I am sure your experience with 5610 will be much better than K770i.

nokia 5610 is simply great. i don't what problems you people have but my phone doesn't have any. you simply just have to know how to take care of it. love the sounds and even the camera quality.
