hi maxG i think u hav a 5610,pls say wheather ur fone has restarting problem, if yes say when it restarts,is the sound louder than ur dads n73, is ur dad havin n73 mesuc edition or normal edition, pls say which has better camera and video quality between 5610 and n73,pls reply fast

All the buttons on the phone are click type, not touch. You can feel the key "sink" with a very soft "tik" sound when you press it down.
And this phone does not have TV-out like 6500 slide.
I guess everybody have different opinion on 3.2mp camera quality. I think my 5610 has excellent camera quality which is the same as my dad's N73 when I compare side-by-side on the computer screen. My advice to those who do not own this phone: take a look at the sample shots on online reviews and judge for yourself.
Oh, and if you forgot to remove the plastic protective film on the camera lens that came with the phone and complain bad quality, please remove it and try again.

But my cousin is a phone seller he say his 5610 dont hav this kind of prob...for his information this phone is see lucky or not if u not lucky den u get a bad 5610 phone....erm mytes 5610 keypad at the top there izzit click 1 or touch??thx for replying !

@TC16: 5610 is one of the worse camera phone in the range of 3.2MP. trust me. try N95 instead or N73.
if you want it as music phone, i have to admit its a good one ...when it is in its 'Normal' Mode.

To Kapil: the D-pad keys are pressing type
To TC16: 5610 is a 3G music phone with great camera and speaker; if you want smart phone with gaming get the N81 or wait for 5320 to launch
A genuine 5610 does NOT break easily. Mine have dropped on the floor a few times, once even with the slide open, but there is totally no damage at all.
I bought my phone in January but when people see my phone they still ask if I just got a new phone...

and i herd rumers that this phone brakes very easy

I am planning to purchase Nokia 5610, i want to know that is the D-pad keys are touch type or pressing type?

You play music from phone memory, but did you take the microSD card out? If still the same, maybe you can try a faster microSD card (class-4 or class-6) as it works great for me.
I don't recommend storing music in phone memory. Try to keep as much free space as possible. If your phone memory is almost full, the phone will be slow and unstable. For me, I always have around 10MB free in my phone memory and the phone is stable.
Store all your music in the microSD card. Try with small number first, maybe 10 songs or 20 songs. Then try 50 songs. Then increase to 100 songs (and so on). Try till your phone start to hang/restart, then you know your phone's limit. Maybe every 5610 have different limit on this?? (I dunno why, but some people have problem, some don't, that's why)

may be i am too lucky!
i am using 5610 from 4 months. i hanged 4 times till now.
every day i will listen to 2 - 3 hrs of music , atleast 1 hr continuously. it didn't hang after 30 min.
clarity of music is exceptional . but, when it hangs, we don't have any other option but to open the battery to restart.

that tik tik sound...i wish it was a normal one for a camera phone. i have been using camera phone for a long time, but havent seen/ heard such weired thing. Previously this 5610 has no such sound with camera, and all on a sudden it starts making such noise.
Ok, i tried your technique, i tried to play the songs from my phone memory. sorry to say...(as i already have said, my bad luck..) its hangs...yeah the good thing is it restarts and just like u said, it had to reload the play list.
My point was, why would i buy such a thing knowing that it performs well when its in "Normal" mode!

The 'tik tik tik' sound from the camera is normal. Don't worry. It is because this phone has a "real" mechanical shutter and autofocus lens. In fact since it makes all your photos better looking, it is a good thing :)
The phone hang/restart problem is sometimes because of the microSD card you use. I tried using a cheap and slow 2GB microSD and load it with 500+ songs, and it hangs/restarts almost everyday.
If I only store about 10-20 songs, or just completely remove the microSD card, it will NEVER hang/restart.
So now I bought a very good quality 4GB microSDHC from Adata (class-6 speed) and load the same 500+ songs. It never hang anymore but it still restarts by itself maybe once a week. Anyway I'm using a Flash-wallpaper (swf file) with animation now which makes the phone a bit busy and could be one of the factor also (it's too beautiful I'll just live with it).
When it restarts, it will stop playing music, go blank for 5 seconds and then back to normal, and update the music library all over again. Depend on how much music you have, it will take from a few seconds to a few minutes for the update to complete, and then you can start playing music again.
Some people say the phone will hang when you receive SMS while playing music, but I never have this problem. Try reducing the number of music you store insidde and use a better quality microSD card, hopefully it helps.
Conclusion, if you keep your phone nice and simple it will not hang/restart. But if you use a slow microSD, or load too many songs, or use animated wallpaper/screensaver, it might restart but quickly return to normal in 5 seconds...
For me, happening once or twice a week is not to bad considering how heavily I use it and truly enjoy it when it is "normal" :)

Hey ppl.. i have had my slider key problem fixed. It chipped off totally, i mean the entire portion around the slider key came off in my hands and the inside components were seen.. i took it to nokia care and they replaced the phone after having it for 15 days, then the same night it chipped off again. So i took it back and somehow managed to get another phone as a replacement.. so far so good.. hoping that im not gonna jinx it... but this new phone hangs on every menu.. feeling lil irritated with this factor but what to do.. ive learnt to live with this as i made the choice of purchasing it.... any new updates in the firmware will be much awaited.

Hello 'cheeken'
Nokia 5610 hangs (so far i found) in the following situation:
1. WHile Listening to music player if any SMS comes, it hangs...compleet hang, even to option to restart...
2. If you are listening music for more then 30 mins at a time it hangs and restarted.
3. even the worse thing now i'm finding...it makes sound/nosie (not the music) 'tik tik tik' while operating camera....
even tho my 5610 has the warranty, but i have to take it to the NOKIA center several times and they could not fix the hang problem.
i'm really having BAD LUCK....others may not...

To dilip: I do not have N81 to compare. Please ask someone else, or go to a handphone shop and test it yourself.
(My phone is 5610 and my dad's is N73)

5610 hangs/restarts repeatedly. I took it to nokia care and they resolved one problem, but yet to solve the restart problem.
The main advantage of this phone is music. But my bad luck is, whenever i try to listen to music more then 30 mins it hangs. and for the information, i dont have any virus problem on my memory card.
good luck guys with ur 5610 luck. Hope yours one wont be like my one. :/

well guys,5610 is the best phone but only for this time, later or sooner nokia were going to lunch again another unit..so guys think wisely choose what is your most likely phone the phone that accurate to ur self and the phone u really like it..thakz.. 5610 is really good phone, the sound is so good aso the camera..
