i had bought this phone last month...
it cost me 320 dollar
it's very expensive for a phone like this phone
because the cost of this phone is put in the camera not in the sofware and performance

and now i need to repair it because it's justfall-down from me

it's really a bad mobile:-

- the software doesn't support (sympion
-the mobile is too slow (very slow)
-the battery is really bad (short age)
-the monitor (screen) is bad
-and the most stupid things is that this phone doesn't have built-in battery to save the time and date setting after turn-off

baaaaaaaad - i will sell it

About pdf files, I think it doesn't read them, although I did get to read one but that could've been due to gmail's application for mobiles and not the phone itself.

      1. Can someone tell me are the pictures taken with this phone better, worse or equall to those taken with samsung d900?
      2. Can I read word and pdf documents (mainly e-books) with this phone?
      Thanks

Thought i'd update my review now that i've had the phone for over 2 weeks.

Battery life after allowing the battery to fully discharge then fully charge about 5/6 times now lasts around 3 days. For me that's average, would have liked slightly longer but 3 days is fine. For people who are only getting about 2 days try letting the battery discharge fully and then fully recharge.

The bottom side of the navigation pad is starting to slightly annoy me, feels as if it's creaking slightly when i press it.

As someone else below said, the 1,2,3 keys are also a bit annoying, when you try pressing them you press the slider plastic too, but just means you've to press them with your nail rather than finger(or thumb!) tip.

Everything else on the phone is great, haven't used the camera much yet but seems to be good, would prefer radio to be slightly louder through loudspeaker but is acceptable.

Does this phone support MP4 Files?
              and
how's the sound quality of the speaker? and
Is the handsfree is just like the 5700 or any sony ericsson walkman series phone, which makes a grip inside the ear or just falling from the ear.

I have this problem where my 5610 was working all the way until when I was getting ready to go to bed. The screen just went crazy with all these weird colours as though the graphic adapter was put out. I have to bring it for repair soon, so if anybody has any idea, please e-mail me! (and save me a loads of repair money)

                  To ashwin:
The battery life reported by nokia is, as far as my experience can say, an awful lie! 8hrs of music playback drains most of the battery. I read here that it gets a little better with age, but still haven't confirmed it.

                  Susu:
Yeah, might help if you take it to nokia, but... did you try what... someone... said earlier? About having the same number assigned to two different contacts?

As of overall opinion, I'm loving this phone. Great camera, great sound (crystal clear, as people has been saying) and about the loudness, I have no complains: I can't possibly stand having the volume at it's highest with my earplugs. The screen is ridiculously beautiful.

My only complain is the battery and the lack of multitasking. You can have the music player in the background and do other stuff meanwhile, but you can't use the forward, play/pause buttons or control the media player in any way without closing the aplication you're running first. Huge flaw, if you ask me, but nothing I can't cope with.

The slider key is beautiful, by the way, and the radio gets good reception with the handsfree set.

About the phone's reception, I haven't had a single problem with it so far, but my service provider has wonderful coverage so I haven't had the chance to actually test it in troublesome conditions.

The media buttons, although not dedicated (except for the camera and volume, of course, which is now customary), are quite good. Easy to press thru my jeans (I usually keep the phone in my pocket and press the buttons without taking it out). The numeric keypad is just the ultimate messaging experience. The feedback is so pleasing that you might end up with a huge sms bill just for the pleasure of it. Only problem is I have big fingers so the top keys, 1,2,3, are slightly blocked by the slider. No biggie, you just have to get used to it.

Overall, great phone, but next time I might consider a SE just for the battery life and multitasking. Although my only SE phone was a Z series, which excell in nothing in particular, but the life battery was so great that I usually lost the charger from time to time on account of not using it too often and the multitasking made things a little easier. Only problem is that 5610's equivalency on SE, that is, w580 or w850 (or the likes), don't have the same specs (usually no Edge, bad camera, no flash, loose slider mechanism and whatnot) and are just as expensive; so you get less from your money.

Wasn't this a long one... hope it helps you make up your mind.

To Bobby - The details you want have been posted in this forum many, many times already!

And to Confused - yes some say its great, some say its not so great. Thats the thing with opinions - there's no right or wrong, just what's right or wrong for the individual person. You might like it, or you might hate it, but only you will know this - nobody else can tell you, so you've got to try it for yourself and form your own opinion.

Hi guys I did buy this 5610. Let me tell u the defects im facing N feeling.
                        1. while charging now n then its get switched off automatically. Then I have to remove back cover and replace battery to switch on it and removing back cover is a real pain.
                        2. Though camera was my priority 3.2 is good but there is no front camera like N series one.
                        3. Audio supports MP3 but not Video.
guys pls do suggest me out of it..
                        regards

                            to Ash -

The problem with your game is that its requirements are too much for the processor to handle at times. The message not enough memory is not talking about the spare memory you have available on the phone, but the RAM memory in the phone which is used when running applications. If your appliacation requires too much RAM and the phone can not supply it then the game will end giving you the message you see.

Overall this phone is good. Infact i love it.

I ve had this phone for about two months now and i realised it has some negative points, like the battery, with normal usage lasts for around 3 days ( normal standby for other nokia phones is around 5 days). It froze a couple of times before i updated the software but now it seems ok. The camera is not one of the best (so dont buy it if you want very high quality pictures) its not bad either.

The sound is very clear but the volume is not so high but if you use the head phones this should not be an issue. Viewing viedos on the phone is also very good as the picture is crystal clear

All in all I would reccomend this phone, but if your still unsure i would wait for a couple of weeks before buying it mabe in the meantime the issues i mentioned above would be solved by that time.

Are you using the software supplied with the mobile phone to convert you MP4 so that they are fully compatible with the phone. i had the same problem but now im using this sowtware and the videos are crystal clear and it plays somoothly both sound and picture.

To Ansari - you can't change the folder for files that are transferred using Bluetooth - its a standard function of the phone to put everything into the "received files" folder. You can of course trasfer to the memory card afterwards.
