My Music.............
....In a single word 5610 XpressMusic as simply AWESOME.........its frm a user n now a fan of dis fone....bought one month ago....its gr8 and i lv ma fone....as a user 4 over a month i felt bad readng sme comments...its n absolutely rocking fone...
STYLE n DESIGN:
i ve a blue black fone..it looks cool...da red version is also gorgeous....its catchy look attracts every youth....body made of black aluminium...its finishings r superb cmprd to usual plastic bodies...(guys evn n 73 hve a plastic body)...da red nn blue linings gve the fone a sexy look...overall size is small cmpred to n series...it fits right in ur hand wid right grip....the design of the keypad also adds to the style.. the main feature is an iconic slider key...looks smart and as i do u luv using that key......from the style, look n design aspect i give 8/10...(guys it is also hvng a strong body...ma fone once fell on the grnd frm ma hand n not even a single scratch or damage was found....Thnk u nokia :))..8/10
MUSIC:
as every xpress music fone is meant for the 5610 will rockk ur ear...nokia hve included a dedicated chip for audio..it aids to the better audio quality n also faster response of music player.....it almost play any music format in the world..music player interface is so easy to use creating plylsts addng etc...coming to sound the clarity of sound and the sound quality is remarkable..i ve never experienced such a sound clarity in any fone of its class...crystal clarity....coming to volume level of loud speaker(no dual speaker) it is above average its greater than n70 72 but slightly less than n73 which has dual speakers....but as i said the sound clarity of the speaker is better than these...headphone are also o gr8 quality with a cute Xpressmusic remote controller...as i must again say clarity again rocks...the only thing i feel is that the bass levels are not so strong as that of SE headphones(they are earplugs so boom effects will increase)...it doesnt mean it has low bass levels..i said only in comparison...but ultimately u luv what u hear....sound 9/10.
DISPLAY:..
Coming to its display all phones will fall in nokia's foot....guys the only thng tht cmes in btween us and the phones is its display....so display is a major thing to be noted...5610 comes with a 240*320 2.5" display with "16 MILLION" colours......colours are flowing out of its screeen....watching it is a visual treat.....not many other phones have 16 million colour...even n70 773 SE etc...they are 262k only...u will be addicted watching it...diplay is bright nd day viewing is also good....u can view photos in rich colours as in a computer..also as advertisement says u can watch dvd quality videos in it....nt many other music phnes can do that....display is way ahead...9/10
Camera:
A 3.2 Mp camera is a rare feature in the clss of music fones....camera clarity is good...but slightly less than that of n73s...it ve got autofocus for sharp images..upto 2048*1536....u can view sample photographs on review f dis fone in this site....got 8x digital zoom....its got a dual led flash for better night imaging.....only disadvntge is that u can use this a flash light while not tking fotos..its also got a secondary vga camera..but its of no use in tkng photos....but can only be used for video calling...overall camera quality is far greater than usual music player fones with 2 Mp camera ...8/10
User interface:
It is not a symbian OS phone...it works on Nokia series 40 platform 5th edition...newer version thn in previous xpress music phnes...it is very fast..it does not become slow much even the memory card is fully loaded...compared to symbian phones that are very slow n boasting of multitasking the series 40 platform is very fast and doesnt waste ur time waiting for the fone to respond!!!....u cant use a large no. of applications that are meant for symbian......dont worry there are a no. of java applications meant for this platform...mst advantageous is that u can enjoy high graphics java games on ur phone...other feature that is introduced in this phone is the widget application installer..u can use small programs that are knwn as widgets like yahoo go google maps n lots more...they r so useful especiially yahoo go nd nokia sensor thats already installed in urfone..Interface very fast not multitasking 8/10
Memory:
5610 n its companion 5310 are the only phones other than n series(8 n 9) that hve option to upgrade upto 4 GB.... u can have ur entire favourite songs in ur phone..u ll never run out of space..the card is micro sd which is not so costly..only thing is that u ll get only a 512 or 1Gb card on purchase...we can hope nokia increase this memory in future...8/10
File support:
nokia claims tht u can play any format of music on this phone...one of the gr8 thngs i have found is tht 5610 can play mp4 files ie video files other than 3gp..i dont kno hw many phones have this feature..mp4 as u know hve far far better video quality than 3gp...but mp4s of high frame rate will not be plyed correctly..we hve to use sme converters....but mp4 quality is awesome....nearly dvd quality...dsnt support avi dat files...u cant install players for plyng that.....supports jar files n midlets...txt files etc....u cn even read pdf files by installing suitable java applications....
Connectivity:
This phone have quad band gsm, gprs class 10,edge,bluetooth with ad2p new version....no infrared is provided....its a '3G' phone...u can have video calls using this phone...5610 has no WIfi in it...u can record a call upto 1hr..call sound quality is good...conectivity 7/10..
Power:
The nokia 5610 uses a high Ah battery 900mah
BP-5M...Nokia claims a music play back time of 18 hrs...u can hve mst of it...call time is not gr8 as nokia claims but decent compared to other phone....for normal use u have to charge once in min 3 days...this 16 milion color draws a large amount of power....u can recharge it very fast 1 -1.5 hr.....power 7/10
Conclusion:
Nokia 5610 is a fone that is powerpacked to satisfy 2days youth.......cst is also not high enough for its features......frm my experience NOKIA 5610 XpressMusic will rock ur world..................

No that's not true at all. I always use the country code anyway, as I travel abroad a lot. But it always recognises calls and texts with only one number stored.

i was reading the forum for this phone at mobile-review.com.
some guy over there says that you have to add country code when adding contact numbers or else when you recieve an sms from that number, the phone will not identify him. And he says you gotta have two nos for every person, one with country code one without, the former for identifyin' the person in case of an SMS and the latter for identifyin' him when you receive a call from him!
Is it true? It really sux if it is!

Just got this phone. I was a nokia 6680 owner and at first, I think this phone sucks, but later gotta love it. The music player is freakingly awesome using headset and also a very personal phone. It's considered very good since it's only S40.
O Yea,the nav slide, 1337. If u are a music lover and like simple phone(just like me), use this. If u prefer those softwares and big phones, this wouldnt be your choice, choose N95 :P

Yes that's correct - the phone will not see the memory card until the back cover is firmly in position.

For autofocus, click on this link. Took me 30 seconds to find it. http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/autofocus1.htm
Macro is a facility to focus on objects very close to the camera.
All phones have an operating system, otherwise they wouldn't work at all. Smartphones are like mini computers, and have the ability to load other programs onto them.
The 5610 is not a smartphone and does not have symbian.
Transflash is the old name for what is now called the Micro SD card. The 5610 can accept a Micro SDHC card of up to 4GB. Devices that are not HC (high capacity) compatible will not read an SDHC card, but devices which are HC compatible (like the 5610) will read SDHC and SD cards. My own phone has no problems reading a 4GB card, however I have heard some other people say that they are having problems with their cards being recognised, so it does seem to depend on the make of the card. Sandisk is definitely compatible, as is Kingston.

Jus' read an article about autofocus and macro on wikipedia, still didn't get a thing. it describes those things too scientifically. jus describe it in a nutshell and in ENGLISH, because Wikipedia certainly didn't use english.
Please guys it won't hurt you describing two simple (i guess) things!

hey dude, Marcus!
What about the other two questions?
i'm sure i'm really annoying you asking such ignorant questions, but enlighten me!
These were the questions:-
One more thing what is a smartphone and non-smartphone? i think a smartphone is one with an OS, so why isn't this phone a smartphone? it has an OS, doesn't it?
and what is this S40 FP1, doesn't this phone have Symbian? and des this S40 FP1 allow us to install third-party applications and themes and stuff?
