What the hell? Nokia themselves make better featured clamshells for the same price. Plus, 175 euros/dollars is by no means an "affordable" cellphone.
Seems to me like rabbid Nokia fanboys are falling one over another rushing to defend their beloved company with this one.

Oh please stopd this Jack$hit about user friendlyness and all..we all know they are good at it.
The ponit is "Affordability". Nokia is naming it "Affordable calmsheel" and the price is 175 euro. In my opinion a phone should be called affordale if its less than $100. For 175 euro this phone is offering NOTHING.
6125 and 6131 with better features are available for pretty much same or less price. Do you Nokia fanatics has anything to add on that??? seems not.

I agree what Really...? said. Mobile phone is only a phone, such as camera, mp3 etc only some funny extra function for your sparetime. I don't think you will rely on those as a key point of a mobile phone. There are lot of digital cameras and MP3 players in cheaper price but much better quality. Personally, what I cared are mobile function, Nokia is No.1 yet,UI-friendly,reliable. Battery life, Nokia is soso, wish they can improve it more. I never have serious problem on nokia's mobiles what I had, some of them almost more than 3 years,5100,6100,8210 etc, still fully function and same battery life as before.

I DO agree that Nokia make the MOST user-friendly phones. When you buy a phone, you GET A PHONE, not a camera. Camera is just one of the features. If you're after a camera & good quality image, GO GET A CAMERA.
I bought two phones within a month, a Nokia 6125 and a Sony Ericsson Z550i. So far I am very pleased with my Nokia and have since used it primarily. I bought SE z550i out of impulse, a bit disappointed with its bettry life.
For those of you who complain about lack of features in certain phones, well, what you pay is what you will get. Don't expect to receive a Mercedes when you only pay the price of a Hyundai.

ya a great set,, with mostly user needed qualities.. but the main thing for a user is "the price" if its price is reliable,, then it is ok ,,, otherwise regulr user 'llnt use it
well although it is a user competible handset ; )

I swear most of the people who post opininons here are stupid!
I've used Samsungs,Sony Ericssons and Nokias and when it comes to phones,Nokias are the best.
Sony Ericssons have great music and camera but bear in mind that we are talking about phones here. If you really want to rant idiotic things then ask Sony to put a SIM card slot, earpiece, microphone and an internal antenna in their cameras so you can all have a trillionpixel camera phone.
Plus this phone is a budget phone. Meaning you get a phone that has extra features. If the Nokia people promoted this as a "camera" or "music" phone then go and organize rallies on the streets.
If you really wanna see the most stupid thing done by a phone company look at the Sony Ericsson W300. The first walkman phone had a 2MP autofocus camera then they released that thing with only a VGA camera and the most idiotic keypad ever in a clamshell form-factor that looked cheap as you can get.

Woefully underpowered for this price, as -unfortunately- the majority of Nokia's products nowadays. This is, at best, a ~100-110 euro device, not one for the 175+ price-range. At this pricepoint, it would seem completely foolish not to splash only 10-20 euros more, and buy Nokia's own 6125, a much more full featured device. Or a Motorola V360 for 145 euros.
The "affordable" 6085 is yet another travesty from a company that used to be an innovator in the mid-range, but now only produces worthy products on the expensive, high-end categories, while resting on brand-recognition and its familiar UI on the low/mid ranges. Thumbs down.

@emmanuel sarmiento
Sorry cant agree with you. I owned Samsung E715 for last 2 years and that looks way better than this.
I still couldn't figure out why one need EDGE and a microSD card slot in a low-end basic phone with a VGA cam that you will use for making calls and text.
This should be like $100 phone not 175 euro ($221) to be called "AFORDABLE".
I'm not judging by the cam but lets have a look at Nokia only:
6125 (with external color sceen & 1.3mp cam) costs ----$189 and available in the market.
6131 (with 16m internal and color external sceen & 1.3mp cam)costs ---$225 and available in the market.
So WHY pay the same price for 6085?
Am I missing something?

I know some people who buy phones only for the camera, every 6 months or so they pay 500-600€ for a new phone. It really makes me laugh I have a 10mpx digital camera and it will beat all cameraphones for atleast the next 5 years, hahah.

It's very funny that now most of the people just judge the phones through the camera
If the camera's 3,2mp, autofocus,...they say that this one is one of the best and they can die for it and bla bla bla...it's ok
But if the camera is not that good, let say just VGA or 1.3MP, they rush into the idea that the phone sucks and that Nokia is so bad to release such a bad phone, that Nokia is falling down or smt like this and after that they criticise all other Nokia phones without considering other functions and design
That kind of people is so stupid cause they don't know that each phone aims at different kinds of customers (girls, boys, rich, poor ..) and with different prices. How come all the phones should be equiped with best functions and so very expensive? Do u think that all the pp can afford to buy such costly phones or people all like the functional phones ? The fact is there're so many people don't care abt the great functions, they just like the easy-to-use and good design phones with reasonable price
So if u like the best phones, go for N-series, K800, O2 phones...
If u wanna leave comments for the low-end phones that u don't like plz think carefully and do it wisely. Don't ever comment so bad b4 u know nothing abt the phone but just looking to the camera

Guyz, Nokia will release this model 'cause... y'know! not PLENTY of people are rich, duh!
Basicaly it's used for texting, taking some pics for memorable moments... do you upload all your pics onto your computer? Guess not... nad for listening to music... some say that it doesn't hace a media player but they're wrong! Nokia's not that stupid to do something like that!
And the price is ok...
Before you say such bad coments... please, consider you're the one making that phone... can you even make one???

While the presence of a memory expansion is a good thing, in this one, it just made it all absurd!
I mean, there's no MP3 player, and VGA pics would harly take up space, so what's the card slot for? big mistake nokia, if there was MP3 player, this phone will definitely have a market share. But at this rate, only those who know nothing about phones and likes clamshells will probably buy this one
