    to Vestibulian

GPS is for free and works around the world. it gets the direction or map details from the satellite constellation from space with 30 active satellites that distributes data. its free for civilian use.

its not something you subscribe for like your cellphone service provider.

that is what i though before, but now everything is clear to me =)

    hope this helps you

OK guys, Gps is free its gprs that you pay through your network for,However some Gps software does connect through the phones gprs connection to get traffic updates, now this is chargeable, So rule of thumb Gps not chargeable; GPRS Chargeable

                  Questions answered.

You do not have to pay for GPS. Its free on this phone, you only have to pay for maps. It should come supplied with the appropriate maps for the country you buy it from, so in theory you only buy extra maps if your going to travel out the country.

Its currently priced at £299.99 + for the UK (sim free) but this may change.

For everyone wondering why its got a 2mp camera, and no wifi etc its because they are keeping the cost down. This is supposed to be an entry level phone with GPS, so whatever features they add is a bonus.

If you want GPS and a huge MP camera with wifi, etc etc thats what phones like the N95 are for.

If it wasn't for the sub 4h battery time - this would have been one of the best phones...

Does GPS work ALL AROUND THE WORLD (for free???) or is it a service that you need to pay your service operator??

                        The big question finally answered...

After extensive research one has found the release date to be July 2007!!!

Still a couple of months left

The big question seem to be:

When can we see the phone in our pockets?

Can some one clarify this please?

This device comes with built-in GPS and maps and works independently from any operator right in Your hand.

If You want to track the device from a website, well, yes: then You need to find a provider for such service (e.g. fleet tracking)

When is it coming out? Good Question!!! I rang Nokia as well as other leading network providers…none of them can give a definite date. In this day and age that is poor.

The CarphoneWarehouse advertised it in their April magazine stating that it will be out in May. But now that I look in the May magazine it seems to completely have disappeared.

As to GPS, the phone has the capability for GPS locator systems, however, you'd have to subscribe with a GPS provider to be able to use GPS on the phone.
