To DanB,

Stay clear of the Nokia 6280. That's the crappiest phone ever. Rather buy the SE W810.

I got my 6280 in May (against advice of my friends that it was crap) and have had nothing but problems with it since. These include the battery life lasting a day if that, screen black outs, turning off automatically and the charger being faulty. I took it back to the phone shop that i got it from and apparently it is well known that there is a software problem with this model of phone, however it appears that that isnt preventing them from being sold still.

I would strongly advise you to stay clear of the 6280, Nokias arent what they used to be!!!

I've had this phone for 8 weeks now, of which it has been in service for 5. The service takes too long time, but except for that the phone is great! The design is good, the keys are good and the screen is beautiful. The features are OK, I love the activ estandby mode and have, in fact, quite using my palm Pilot altogetehr now. The battery lasts a day, but then it needs recharging, but that's not really a problem.

I sent mine to service because I had problems with video calls and mobile TV. After service, where they updated the software, the phone becaue so much better. Buy the phone and ask to have the software updated immediately, even before using it. Then it's a great phone!

I have this phone for 2 months already, and i don't know why but i never felt that problem with the rebooting. The battery life is really short but if you have read the specification you will know it. The Display is really nice the quality of the pictures is good (but only when day light is present-but that is normal) The video clips are with unbeliavably good quality. There are a couple of disadvantages which won't make me buy a new phone
              1. When you receive Files via Bluethooth they are automaticly saved on the internal memory
              2. I can't find any software for word Documents and another media player which allows rewinding.
As conclusion a can say - very good phone, but not for bussines people who talk all the time.

reading on from my last post, it seems like version 3.81 is the latest software version (mine already is that). I have adjusted the settings as stated from dual to GSM and fingers crossed my phone hasn't lost it's signal or rebooted....yet!! try it people! a good phone that might just need a little tweaking! shame it's not a little smaller though - but it has got a HUGE screen to compensate i suppose!

I got this phone as an upgrade from my trust old Samsung D500. i just looove slide phones and the nokia 6280 looked so stylish. I was warned against buying it on 3 pay (because the network is crap - apparently) so i forked out extra for an orange version. I am undecided whether i actually like it or not. It is very good looking with a massive screen and good features but the slide mechanism feels flimsy and cheap to me. Also it will lose it's signal momentarily every so often. While i am using the media player either through a headset or through the loudspeaker i have found that it sometimes cuts out and restarts by itself. Does anyone else's do this or have i just got myself a dodgy one???

I have this phone for a while now, and it is working just fine.. yeah, the battery life is a bit short, but have in mind that i have it in my hands every 2 min..

the only thing i dont like is the fact that when i recieve sms, and open it, it doesnt display date&time in the message, wich is not a problem if you open it right away, but if im on a meeting or something like that, and see it after, i have to dig trough options to find date&time when it was recieved.. this one suprised me, because date&time in a message is a common thing to all phones, and even nokia 3310 had that..

i dont have a problem with anything else you folks write about..

I got this phone two days ago because I didn't believe the bad reviews. I've learnt my lesson, this is the worst phone ever. Two days and the battery has been dead flat three times, cuts off during calls, the browser fails... Even the engineer strongly advised me to go against the sales guys and cancel the contract all together. He said a replacement won't make a difference and these guys work together...

Up till now I have had no problems with Nokiak, but I hate this phone! I have had this model for 12 weeks and am about to receive my 3rd new handset due to issues which are unable to be repaired. This experience has really put me off Nokia as a brand and if I had my way, would be rid of the phone completely.
