I'm a fire fighter and use my phone a lot on the fire ground. Had this phone since November '07. It's been dropped, kicked, fallen and had pieces go in all directions. The plastic cover over the actual screen is cracked big time!
The Camera is nothing wonderful but it has been very useful.
This phone still works as good it always has.

Initially this phone worked well - a good allround phone.
BUT... after just over a year of use, the display screen went black so I took the phone to Nokia Care, as it was still under warranty. However now I need a new phone, since there was apparently some water damage. I looked after this phone quite well - I never dropped it in water and I tried to protect it from the rain - so I put this down to poor phone design. So frustrating!

well, i got the fone for almost 1 yr & a half now, its good at first, then the problem arrived, the picture/ display runs out when i slide it had to repair it then after a few months the screen again blacks out, the display has no light, i have to use it when the light is on but it gives me headache, they said the flex cable is the problem again... so i only used it for a year coz im not using it for 5 months already...
now im waiting to have my nokia 5800, i hope it will not give me headaches....

It is a good fone... my mum had it 4 2 yrs and then gave it 2 me and i drop it loads but it still works.. my bestie had the exact same fone and she dropped it in the gutter and half the screen went black so b very careful of that... i wish mine would brake so i can get a new 1... they r old and sumtimes it takes a while to get into my folders and then out again. Also the net is a bit stuffy and frezzes so just walk away...lol newayz hope ths woz helpful

this phone sucks. i had it for 11 months and then it just died. it had a good battery though

am new to this model and the problem i am having is that the battary doesnt last long as specify,somtime it will be full and and the nesx minute its will go low,another problem is that wen eva tha phone goes off my ring tone, wallpaper,and screen saver will be reset and i dont know what to do,pls any hlp pls text it to my mail box,mushe4luv@yahoo.com,pls hlp me cos am tired of setting phone.

My mum's had this phone for 3 years, since it came out, and nothing has gone wrong with it. Obviously it has dropped quite a lot of times, but it just works. Nothing goes wrong with the software. Very robust, recommended if you want a basic slider, it's a bit dated now though, but you can still pick it up from places like 3 new on contract and PAYG.

However, it backspaces so fast that most of what I typed are already gone by that point. I know it's a small problem, but it can get really annoying =(.
In terms of the slider, I've dropped my phone a few times as well and when I slide out my phone, the screen slightly shakes but it's not too noticeable, imo. My friends who used my phone feel that it's hard to slide out but I don't really experience that. I felt it was harder to slide when I first got the phone and gets better when I wipe the metal part with a napkin.
One thing I've always wondered is that when you look at the inner side of the left and right screen. Do you see some notches? I noticed it one day and have been wondering if it's supposed to be like that or if I broke it when I dropped it...

Mine has almost 1 year and if you think the slide mechanism is very fragile, forget it. The faceplates, the memory-card protection (my terminal doesn't have actually), and the lateral buttons are fragile. I experienced that with some accidental falls.

I've had this phone for close to two years (and I still own it now). I'm considering whether to keep it or upgrade it to a smartphone like Nokia 5800 or one of the upcoming summer phones. But anyways, overall I'm really pleased with the design and its functions. I love the white cover, nice keys, and the slider is great and I've never had problems with it.
My only question/concern is that sometimes when I type a text message and maybe when I type too fast (?), it starts to backspace very quickly and delete all the texts I have typed so far. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know how to fix it?
