just wanted 2 sumit 4m india in ur post 1st u mentioned on d advantages that 6681 has fm radio then again on d disadvantages u said it doesnt have fm .wat exactly do u mean by that??????

Sumit here posted a really big review of three S60 phones.
He says one thing which makes me a bit apprehensive about S60 applications not working on Nokia 6681. Is that the case?
Can you tell me some really useful and nice applications that WORK on this phone so that I know if my need is fulfilled. Sumit.. you can also tell me.
Our usual needs are
- a Good mp3 player with equalizer
- office spreadsheet application
- pdf reader
- global timers and messengers etc. stuff
LX, Sumit.. any site which has best applications to download?
The moment you guys answer the above questions.. I am leaving to buy this phone.

Bought Nokia 6681 set last week. Excellent handset.
But Have one issue. Received few tones (mp3, wav formats) and saved in memory card. These tones should have gone ideally to the gallery, but gallery doesn't show anything of this sort.
Can somebody tell me how to retrieve these tones and where they moght have gone..

I did not able to use battry of this NOKIA 6681 more than 3 days standby & talk of 15 mins.or only for a day & 35- 40 mins.only

Zappy,
You will have to access the phone through the usb cable or a card reader depending on where you have installed the game. Simply delete the game folder from the memory and from the system files as well.

Would like to add one more thing, the phone memory is about 9.6mb as opposed to 8mb posted on the website and by you.

I downloaded a game today "Elocom Attack Of TheKillervirus1_02" from http://www30.websamba.com/Muhammad_nabeel/updates2.html
which wasn't at all good. Now I want to delete the game, but it says "Unable to delete killer virus".
How can I delete the game ?

well, i disagree that 6681 dosen`t support 3D games,how about the 3D SNOWBOARD? it is provided with the package? and, 6681 does not support FM radio!

The info you have collected is pretty good, but I get this feeling that your opinion is a bit biased. NO personal offense intended. Nokia 6681 has push to talk ( you werent sure of this )The phone is very stable and hardly if ever gives any problems provided you have the newer version of the firware. The user interface is very simple and well done, especially the today screen, which has the shortcuts on the main screen and the appointments or the events for the day below that, serving as a very efficient reminder. No doubt the features of the two phones (nokia 6630 and 6681) are pretty similar but
the nokia 6681 has better looks and a revolutionary 262k colours supported display. The flash and the sliding lens cover are also a first for nokia phones although the newer models like n70 followed the foot steps. I have used the 6630 for 8 months and switched to the nokia 6681 after that. The phone is brilliant and responds very well and is very stable. The music player is also very good. But I have said this time and again, Its all a matter of choice and everyone has an equal right to voice their opinion. A job well done anyways

hi using this phone for 10 days gr8 phone wd all features but sometimes it just restarts by itself.somebody knows why is it so?wht can we do to sort it out?it just resets to original phone settings

The response of the keys is wonderful and there is no lag either. The center button to confirm anything works the smoothest of all.
The sound quality is pretty impressive and the output through the earphones is stereophonic and that through the loudspeaker is mono but real good quality. If you wanna get the most of the music player of the phone, get a new player like power mp3 which has the option of selecting the presets for the songs and a 10 band equaliser.
The phone is very stable and runs very smoothly.
The battery life totally depends on the usage of the phone but it works a good 1 and a half days.
Its a beaut of a phone and if handled well serves you excellently.
Hope this sorts out at least some of your problems.

Lx and other expert users of this phone, I am thinking of purchasing this phone. I need some info - I will try my best not to ask repeated questions and annoy you off!
1. How is the keypad response especially the arrow keys..
2. The sound quality, does it have enough bass element through headphones? without the headphones, how is the external loudspeaker?
3. Speed of the phone in normal operations.
4. Stability and battery life under heavy usage..

The only or atleast the most reliable way to get your firmware upgraded is to take it to the nokia service centre. If your phone is within the warranty it ought to be done for free.

had a very bad experience...the phone did not work since a week of purchase and has been repaired twice in 6 months. No response from the company and hence the money down the drain.

Try deleting the files from the file manager. If in case that does not work you will need to use a data cable or card reader to do the same. The problem should be solved.
Others,
To get the best quality from the camera of your phone try taking pictures in well illuminated areas. The pictures come out great. If you cant do anything about the light, use the in built flash(for capturing the images of objects upto a distance of 4 to 5 ft away). Avoid using the night mode option coz it is not all that satisfactory. If all these dont work, keep the phone aside and get yourself a digital camera!!
