Errol, 04 Mar 2010The zooming problem can be fixed. In South Africa I took my... moreAre you having any other problems? The main problems seem to be:

      (1) Zoom issue
      (2) Keypad non responsive
      (3) Freezing

Are there any other major ones?

Except for the Zooming issue, does the software upgrade/s fix all other problems?

I really want this phone but there seems to be more complaints than praises.

          Hi

I am from South Africa and I currently have the 6110Nav (brilliant phone except for the battery) I am looking to get the 6710Nav to replace it. From your opinions I see only see 2 types of people, those that love it and those that hate it. On paper the specifications look great for the price but if its going to annoy me then its not worth it.

Could any South Africans give me their opinion on this phone? I have also heard the models released this year are all fixed up is that true? How can i confirm the manufacturing date of my phone? I ask for South Africans because I would like to figure out which batch of phones we received.

          Regards
          Deno

            Zooming CAN BE FIXED
The Main flex assembly - 6710N and the Slide Assembly - 6710N have to be replaced. Mine has been perfect ever since, and I know of at lease one more here (In South Africa) also fixed. Mine was done by Vodacare in Capetown at Canal Walk. Good luck

The zooming problem can be fixed. In South Africa I took my phone to Vodacare in Capetown and they replaced the main flex assembly and the slide assembly and updated the software. The problem has gone away!

ali, 28 Feb 2010this fone sucks.. gonna leavde nokia forever.. i was a big ... moreamazingly the auto zoom in out is not a software problem.. it's hardware problem nd that's is why nokia is not getting in to help as its gonna cost it alot. the problem is that the upper portion has become touch sensitive. the acceot key , hang up key,the two selection keys and the navigation keys are made touch sensitive "delibrately" or intensionly.
