arthas, 21 Oct 2010Is the slide hinge OK?what about the battery cover?Well, I've been playing with my slide since I got the phone. Slide up, slide down, slide up, slide down... XD I really should stop it, I know. But it hasn't really broken for me... Maybe I got lucky, lol.
The battery is fine, as long as I am not screwing around with music on loudspeaker, or running apps... I think I can keep either of those on for about three hours idle before it says "up yours" and discharges.

I own this phone, and apart from a few minor shortcomings I love it. I went through quite a few phones since my beloved i-Mate KJAM died, and then I finally found this to be perfect for my usage.
I'm very fussy when it comes to phones and a QWERTY keyboard was a must me. The QWERTY keypad takes some getting used to, but it didn't take long to adjust to it comfortably.
GPS in this phone is great, I always get a very strong signal and with assisted GPS, it downloads the GPS satellite info from the internet to allow a very quick lock in under 10 seconds.
However, I would recommend that you research updating it to Nokia Maps 3.04 as this has free voice-guided navigation with spoke street names.
In terms of usability, I have no problem with this phone. Just remember the shortcuts! Hold down the little button that sits between the messaging and "i" keys on the front of phone and it will bring up a list of currently open application allowing you to switch between them, or if they have locked up you can end them by pushing the backspace button on the keyboard.
Sometimes browser will freeze up, the solution to this is to close the browser and hold down the red "hang up" button on the front of the phone to end the data connection. Load up the browser again to re-connect and it will be fine.
Audio quality in call is crisp and clear. The loudspeader is loud for calls, however if you are a little hard of hearing like I am you might have trouble hearing the phone ringing sometimes. Keep it close to you and it's not a problem.
Unfortunately the camera leaves alot to be desired. Often photos will be dark and under-exposed, I find myself having to use "low light mode" in areas where other phone cameras would have no difficulty. Night photos are often awful, particularly as this phone does not have a flash.
Network reception is really good, the only time I have had a single drop out with this phone is when train goes through tunnels but this happens to everyone. In this regard it is MUCH better than my Sony Ericsson C903 which was absolutely HOPELESS.
The only thing I miss is Wi-Fi, but with the price of mobile data getting cheaper every day I can manage without that.
The Nokia 6760 is overall a decent phone for the price. I purchased mine for $219 (AUD) new 6 months ago. Prices now are ~$160 (AUD) new or ~$100 second-hand (eBay).

Hi I got this phone 8 months ago on a 24 month plan... Biggest mistake of my life. It always freezes and I have to result in taking the battery out to solve it. It would be alritght if it didn't happen so often. The camera on it is really bad.. I'm not sure if it is just mine but in the dark there is a purple shade on the left of the photo. The reception is also really bad. I will be standing in the middle of the city and sometimes I will have no reception. 2 seconds later it will be full. I would not recommend this phone..

I used to work at a mobile retail shop and i as sales rep i gotta say that this phone is a total crap and waste of your money. if your a fan of this mobile design go for the Samsung Corby pro it's in the same price range and it has the missing things from the 6760 like the wifi and the touch screen and more fun features the only thing that might give the corby a disadvantage that it's kinda slow other than it's worth your money.

Hello everyone. My wife and I both bought these phones for ourselves. We've had them for 1 year now and nothing is wrong with it at ALL. If you read the negative comments below, and your heart tells you not to buy it, then that is your choice. But, in our opinion, we LOOOOOOOVE it!!!!!
