As an example (In the UK) the o2 operator give their message centre settings here:

They also have a service where you can text a number and the reply text will deliver the settings:
http://getsettings.o2.co.uk/ServeSettingsWebApp/
So basically contact your cellphone operator or google them and search for "message centre" or "message center" settings (depends if USA or Europe).

this is how u send messages u call straight talk and they will ask you are receiving problems and you say yes and they'll say wut is the problem and u tell them and they'll send you sumone to tell u wut's wrong and how to fix it

I can send a multi media msg but it goes to my outbox and says sending"which it wont"? Or Deferred? So I have to send it to my drafts, go there and hit send and it will send from there... Quite the process and headache.

Got a Nokia 6790 Surge 2 weeks ago. It wouldn't send texts. After the first battery charge and usage, it wouldn't change a 2nd time so I was sent another one. I still can't sent text msgs.. haven't found a manual that might help me with this aspect. I hope I'll get an answer on their page on FACEBOOK .. What's the point of having unlimited texting when I can't even send out one!?

Well, i've had my phone for about a year now. Messaging is gr8 as the keys are big. I don't mind the size of the screen, It's good enough for me. and linking to my hotmail took me a few months to figure out (shame) but after that it was smooth sailing. The only problem i currently have is that my internal antennae seems to have gone bad (quizzical look). I don't know why it has nor how to get it fixed as no one here (B'dos) seems to have the parts to fix it. Any help on where i can get a new int. antenn. for it???

this is a good phone communicate,it is a useless 3g fetures it is a one common thing by nokia,and gsm.atlis is software is a good comuunicate..

I love my Nokia 6790. I have mines on the StraightTalk network. It has all the cool business features like quick office and notes or memo in which. Its great for school work, when your on the go and want to start a paper or jot on notes to save for latter. I really like using my Music app, Ovi maps and calendar because i sync the calendar to keep up with events in my area from a pub calendar. Overall, it has great battery life, pictures, music and video features. I do wish it had a Flash with focus and the ability to boot up faster. I suppose it has a 3-5 second freeze due to the multitasking ability. I will give it a 4.5 and i still recommend it to others.

its a great phone for not to be a touchscreen. I got no problems with my phone. Enjoy your life :)
