Himanshu, 28 February 2018

A few days back, HMD Global's CEO, Florian Seiche, confirmed the new Nokia smartphones (1, 6 (2018), and 7 Plus) aren't headed stateside. Then came reports that these phone may launch in the country in Q2 this year.

And now, HMD has confirmed at-least the Nokia 6 (2018) is coming this May. The confirmation came from Juho Sarvikas, HMD's chief product officer, in a recent interview. The executive, however, didn't provide any info on pricing.

In the interview, Sarvikas also commented on the company's decision to not go for carrier partners for their phones. "The trend is that the open market is growing," he said. "If you look at this US open market, this midtier is where you have a lot of people purchasing their device," adding the new Nokia 6 is a good proposition for this market.
