Phone’s default ringing tone keeps on coming back? I do receive a lot of calls from different people whom I assigned video ringing alert and mp3 ringtones to different people and it doesn’t happen to me. It might be a software defect and not a general 7390 feature.

How much is micro SD – 1 gig? – I bought mine in megamall and I think a got it at P2,000. Kingston brand, works well with 7390 and Motorola v3i.

Backlight query? - Im not that familiar with other phones and im not familiar with backlights either. Sorry. But for comparison purposes, 7390’s screen is dimmer as compared with n71 and motorolla v3i.

Software isn’t reliable? - I don’t know about the software but mine is good. When you buy in greenhills, there is a small possibility of you getting a defective unit. Luckily, i think what I got is not defective, as of this time, at least. Im contented about the software of my unit. I had several nokia units for the past 10 years and I should know if there are defects or not.

Video conference? - no, I haven’t tried this. teleconference, yes. it good.

Many people are trying to return it? – hmmm, I don’t know about this. I might be one of them, at first. Hehehe. You see, when I bought this, I had a chance to browse the phone for an hour while waiting for my other companions. During that span of time, as ive mentioned before, I wasn’t that happy with the features and I literally almost begged the vendor to exchange the phone with an n71 but they did not consent. When I went home, I browsed the full potential of the phone for about 3 hours and im glad I did not let it go.

It depends really on what you want. Im not saying this phone is better than the other phones. For me, this is better because it suits my requirements. Folding phone, easy sending of sms to multiple people, soft keys, radio and mp3 playing, among others.

Whew, nokia should give me a little compensation for this since it seems that im promoting 7390. hehehe. Kidding aside, im glad to help even a little. Im a CP enthusiast, like most of you.

Thank you for the comparison. It was almost a review of the capabilities of 7390. Nice Job!

Anyways, my bro went to Greenhills and he said that he could not find the pink fon for me and he said that most of the vendors there says that they do not have 7390 because the software isnot reliable yet and they say most of the customers are trying to return it because they are not satisfied with it. Any thoughts?

And how much does a 1Gig micro SD costs if it's ok to ask abt that as well.

By the way,my phone has only 2 games installed&it had 256 memory card.Guess it differs from 1 country to another.But still funny that no games on your phone in Applications,may be mistake while programming this phone,u should investigate with Nokia

scorp, is the backlighting of the screen dim?

I got this as an xmas pressie.
From the first week - i had a white-out, the suduko game kept blocking and my ringing tune kept disappearing and the phone default tune became activated. Took it back to shop and they sent back to rep and had software re-installed. Got it back on Saturday and today Wednesday - same problem with tunes - the phones default one becomes activated. Called rep and have to take it back again. Any suggestions?

Using video as ringing tone – Its great. Though I really cant compare with other phones because honestly, this is the first time I’ve used it. I cant find anything wrong. Its great, actually. The quality of the ring tone that you hear depends on the quality of the sound of your video. If you have a good sound in your video, it will be good. You can see the video in the mini LCD display.

Assigning multiple video ringing tone per contact – I don’t think so.

Assigning video ringing tones to different contacts – Yup

Assigning video ringing tone to a “group” – I don’t know if this is possible.

Powder Pink color in Greenhills? - I haven’t seen one, since I haven’t looked for one. They might have, I just don’t know.

Headset – im not really a big fan of headsets. I use in only in playing radio, which is not that often. I cannot give you a good opinion on this. I don’t notice any difference between n71 and 7390. I think its ok.

N71 vs 7390:
1. Sending message to GROUP – 7390 is better. Yup, n71 sometimes takes too long in sending a lot of messages (actually in my case, its always the case eventhough nokia care already installed SMS accelerator already in my phone).

2. Quality of Pics – 7390 has a higher megapixel and has auto focus. I don’t have a comment on this yet since I haven’t really compared a “developed” picture using the 2 phones.

3. Brightness of the LCD / screen – n71 is better, brighter. 7390 has a dimmer screen, but for me, its tolerable.

4. Question about “Hanging” – well, I used 1 Gig memory card in both CPs (Mini SD in n71 and micro SD in 7390). From time to time, I experience “hanging” when I use my n71. However, since the time I bought 7390, I haven’t experienced it yet.

5. Sound quality – I think n71 is better than 7390. I find n71’s sound louder than 7390.

6. Others – “memory eating” – n71 sucks. I had my phone reformatted 3 times when I was using it due to large memory phone usage, which really slows down the efficiency of the phone. Im observing this 7390 and I don’t think my phone memory is being “eaten”.

7. Others – “saving messages in memory card” – one thing I really like about n71 is that I can save messages in the memory card. And when I transfer that memory card to another compatible CP, I can still access my messages (I think). 7390 does not have that feature. It only saves the messages in the phone memory, though you can create numerous folders for those.
I was looking for a crystal case for 7390 in greenhills but I haven’t found one yet as of last weekend.

GENERAL - During my the 1 hour of using my 7390, i was not that happy and was looking for the features of my previous n71 (which was stolen) like saving messages in my memory card, better sound, brighter LCD, PC Suite CD, easier assignment of shortcust, USB cable connector, backing up my contacts and calendars in my memory card, etc. I even tried to return the 7390 in exchange of n71 but the dealer did not allow me to. After that, I was able to discover the other features of this phone and im glad that I did not exchange it. Considering N71’s natural defects and 7390’s features, I’m happy with 7390. I even think n71 will be phased out already here in the Philippines (just look in the Nokia website – asia pacific – Philippines, n71 is not there already).

IS THIS PHONE GIRLY? – It depends on the judgement of a person. I’m comfortable using it. Very handy and stylish. My sisters and friend-girls like it even if the color is bronze black. Maybe the powder pink would be too much girly.

GAMES:

To the person who bought the phone recently who says that it has no games, from what county are you? This phone has 4 pre-installed games. Look for it in the “applications” folder.

well, n71 is a "hanger" because it is symbian.

and video(not ringtone) capture is alot better on 7390. same as quality, no noise at all! right scorp!

Thank you for your reply. I have a few questions though, do they have Powder Pink in Greenhills? Because I couldnt find any n Megamall. How would you compare the sound of the headset for 7390 and N71. N71 gives crisp sound and it can also use our regular 3.5mm earphones. When you send an SMS, does it take a long time? Coz sometimes if N71 has lots of msgs, it takes a long time to send one. Lastly, have you seen any difference on the quality of the pics taken from N71 and 7390? Thanks.
