I figured out that there was an options button that needed to be pressed in order to enhance the voice clarity on the loudspeaker and now it is better than it was.

There is no reason to charge the new batteries for 16 hrs.. the new ones stop charging when the battery icon is full anyway. With the old batteries like in nokia 5110 you had to charge for 24 hrs or something, but thats an entirely different technology than the batteries in this phone. So thats just a myth, do as u want when the battery icon shows its full :)Just remember that it takes 3-4 times with fully charging and discharging the battery before you can say anything about battery life time too.. :)
And I love my 7390 its an awesome phone :D

You should charge 4hrs max. Charge too much will affect the battery life.

In my opinion new battery should be charged for 10-16 hours even if the icon shows that the battery is fully loaded. First charge has great affect on how long the battery lasts in use and how well it keeps charge.

I have just got the phone and it is just me but i find the loudspeaker to not be very loud at all. I have to still hold the phone to my ear in order to be able to hear somebody. Also, the sound quality on handset is not great either.
Is this a fault or is this phone meant to be like this?
To the person who i asked i do think that this phone is one for the ladies. It would take a very feminine man in order to get this phone i think.

Hi,
I have got a promotional voucher for 7390.
From some of the comments I read here I feel that this a feminish model.. Is it true? If so can anyone suggest a model which suits men?

By the way, I forgot to say, my 7390 took about 2 hours to fully charge the first time. Not sure why, maybe nowdays they don't need to be charged as much, I remember having to charge my Nokia 3310 for 16 hours!

Ideally the phone should be switched off and left to charge for ages, but if you are impatient like me and HAVE to play on it as soon as you get it then its ok to play with it whilst charging for the first time. I did! It is also good to full discharge the battery (let it run completely flat) a few times. Not sure why, I heard it somewhere! I don't know why people are saying this phone has problems, mine has absolutely none!

I just bought the phone today, and just connected it to get the battery charged. Just wanted to know how long i'm supposed to charge it? Some people say 24 hours the first time, some say til the icon says fully charged. Does anyone know? Also, is it bad for the battery to play with the phone while it's charging for the first time? Sooo can't wait!! =) Pls answer as soon as possible, thanx!!

I have no problems or hangs with this phone, the UI is very fast. Much much faster than Nokia 6270/6280/6233. Ringtone volume is average/loud, vibrator is average. It works in noisy environments well.

The phone can be used for video calls, 3G and works on UTMS networks. The AEROPLANE icon shows that "FLIGHT MODE" is activated, this can be disactivated by selecting the "General" profile. "FLIGHT MODE" profile allows access to other features such as camera, games, music player and radio etc. where mobile phone use is not allowed, for example hospitals and aeroplanes, hence "FLIGHT" mode.

The features you describe are for battery saving, there is no screensaver for the internal screen, as it would hardly be used, as the fold would be closed most of the time. I have set a "Chanel" logo as my screensaver, which shows on the external screen when the fold is opened, looks great, suits the phone!

Just got this phone and love it except for issues with screen brightness. Main display is fine when fold opened or when writing text, using calendar, etc. but after less than a minute if not actively pressing keys it goes totally dark. THis happens even when making a call, though sound quality is fine. Main display comes back up when you press a key or hang up call. I have never had this problem with other nokia flip phones. Also there is no screensaver option on main display. Does anyone else have this problem? Faulty phone, software glitch or battery saving?
Thanks,
Sali.

you can use the phone to find your way in the dark, just, i wouldn't rely on it though. I love the fact that the flash is now on Automatic, so it comes on if there is low-light, which is great. The UI is much much much faster than my 6270, especially at accessing photos and music from the memory card. One reason for low screen brightness is the addition to the LIGHT SENSOR above the internal camera. Also, to save battery life, the screen may be dimmer as the phone must power two screens. It's really nothing to worry about. EXCELLENT! So much better than the Nokia 6280. However, i cannot test the 3G settings or internal camera as i have a 2G sim.

Sounds like the screen brightness is the major drawback to this phone. Is it so bad as to render the screen uselesss in bright light?

I heard most of the Nokia's phone will hang or slow when loading music, file from external memory card, and it happened to 7390 too??
