It makes me really sad I let myself buy that phone. Battery life is so bad it can't make it up for all the goods in the phone combined. If you actually use it, you have to charge it every day!

I think the phone looks great..I've been using it for about a month and i don't have many complaints against it...The sound quality is awesome though it could have been a bit louder..The camera works fine without zoom...But i get pretty hazy pics when i zoom in...Other than that...it is a really cool phone and i have no idea how people find it ugly!!

        To Advocate Garg.

As a person who has accepted The Law as his profession, telecommunication and its security and failsafe measures must be of utmost importance to you. My personal experience tells me to request you to go for the Nokia Communicator series. You must have witnessed that most of your colleagues in the Delhi High Court Bench [both males & females] have been using them for many a years now. Flashy phones from the recent line up are meant for the glassy eyed kids with Dad-has-lotta-money-to-burn attitude.

        To frappo.

"... Only artistic people can fully appreciate the cuts and patterns of this phone ..."

Sorry "Boss" ... Most of the cell-phone users buy their phones -- for themselves -- with their OWN hard-owned money. And so they are concerned about battery-life -- also known as talk-time but termed as neither music-time nor camera-time -- and network access and ease of use and the price-tag.

To cut down to the chase -- and following frapper's view -- phones made for glassy eyed kids with lots of DAD's easy-money are the designer phones with artistic view. Correct me If I'm wrong.

Hey frappo, when was the last time you bought a phone for yourself to fulfill the telecomm purposes rather than irrational irrelevant reasons like ... light a green fire of envy among pals or impress the chick-next-table? Or even worse -- don't tell me that you buy designer phoneS simply because you dream of opening up your multi-billion USD fashion house someday -- say 100 years down the line?

I quit from posting @ Prisms.

I don't think it's ugly! Maybe it looks a bit like a remote, but it seems to have good quality! I'm thinking about bying it!

I purchased newly introduced Prism-7500model of Nokia on 7/10/2007. Till today i.e on 17/10/207, I have noticed the following problems with it.

              1. I do S.M.S, out of ten SMS only 5/6 are sent by it. In 4/5 cases, after its sending, these are not even traceable either in sent folder nor drafts folder or any other folder. And receivers also confirms that they had not received any SMS. Nor any delivery report is there. The whole message go missing.

              2. Speed dials behave very unpredictable. If I push/dial no.3 digit, telephone number fed at 6 no. starts dialing. If digit 6 is dialed/pushed the number fed at 9 or 2 would be dialed. However, please note that it makes mistake only during first attempt and does not repeat the mistake at second time, if the same number is pushed again.

              3. If a call is on, and in between some call comes. After the call is finished, the miss call number would not be there on the screen. If you are too busy in talking, the person calling in between get annoyed if he does not get a call back. And I am unable to call him as I never knew that in between there was some call.

Please solve my problem at the earliest.

                To Frappo [Flat RAP POlarity],

This site is supposed to be an individual contributors' tele-tech site and not a web-space to run an ad-agency or web-marketing. Well at least that's what I felt in the last 3 years.

The meaning and purpose of a phone has been described by me in a SAMSUNG post. Take a moment or two to read that.

                gsmarena.com/samsung_c180-reviews-2041.php

And why do I keep loving 7110, 8910, 6500 Classic and hating the Prisms? Simply because most of are unable to accept disasters the way they truly are. Kids hate when their parents get divorced. Parents hate to admit their kids to Rehab centres. People love to live in sea-shore cottages but hate to face the tropical storms. Likewise things [not phones] like the Prisms made by a company that also deviced 7110, 8910 and 6500 are alos UNacceptable. Mind you, libraries aren't supposed to arrange disco parties. But if they do -- it pronounces DISGRACE to them. Right? Skip the answer -- I know that.

Please excuse my grammar and spelling from my previous entry. :) My bad! Hehe. I wasn't able to recheck what I wrote. I didn't even notice that I made so many typographical errors. LoL!

                    To: Hindustani

Contrary to what you have just said, the "thing" you discriminate and refer to us "ugly" deserve a much better opinion than yours. If you extremely abhor the design of this phone, then don't look at it! It's called a "designer phone" because it carries an unusual pattern. Only artistic people can fully appreciate the cuts and patterns of this phone. I think you're not one of them!

Why do you insist on telling everyone here that the Nokia 7500 Prism is not a phone? Do you even know what the word phone means? A phone is device you use to communicate with other people via voice call or text message. Should a device have such characteristic, it can then be pertained to as a phone. Are you still with me? Do you get my point??? I hope you're not lost because so far I think your vocabulary and common sense are both wandering somewhere in the desert!

                    To whom this may concern,

Please disregard the unappreciative and hostile opinions of Hindustani against the Nokia 7500 Prism! I assure you, this phone is nothing but great!!! (",) I just bought mine several hours ago and I'm enjoying it a lot..

                    - The screen is very bright and extremely clear!
                    - The phone responds well to every click that I make.
                    - The sound is load enough to be heard in any condition.
                    - The case is sturdy and it doesn't squeek.
                    - The internal memory is large enough compared to other Nokia phones.

The design may not be appealing to other people like Hindustani but I don't think the phone looks that ugly like what he said! I think you all can agree with me on that one. IT IS A PHONE!!!! It works like a phone, it feels like a phone, and it looks like a phone. So? It surely must be a phone!!!! :) Hehe.

It's not a phone. Not really. It's a please-look-at-me accessory for people suffering from ADD -- Attention Deficit Disorder. The design is solely based on a simple concept -- tattoos can't be done on the palms.

And so the palm is wrapped around something that's imported from some alien civilization and recently borrowed from Area-51.

Bottom Line : It's a terrible thing -- a thing -- something which is not a phone et al. And maximized marketing would/should/could have been achieved if released parallel to ID-4 or ET.

I'm going to buy my Nokia 7500 Prism tomorrow!! I'm so excited.. I got to test it out earlier this evening at the store where I'm going to buy it.. It's really unique but it looks elegant and formal.. The unusual shapes incorporated to this phone really catched my attention.. a little twist from the usual could never hurt right? :) i think the curves and diamond-like cuts gave the phone a little more funky look.. elegant and funky at the same time.. ironic but that's how I see the phone! I had to choose between 7500 Prism and 6300, but I chose 7500 Prism because it has a 512MB memory card and an LED flash for the camera.. whereas the 6300 comes with a 128MB memory card only and it doesn't have an LED flash..

I tried out the music player, the sound is quite loud enough to be heard.. the screen is bright and very very clear!!!

I was having a little problem with the joystick.. when I push it, I can't hear any clicking sound nor can I feel it when I press the joystick.. It's not too hard to push it, but it's better to hear or feel the clicking so that you will know that have already pushed it.. :)

other than that, it looks and feels awesome! I can't wait for tomorrow.. hehe..

During a corporate "hospitality" tour to Bangalore I was set up to be "extra friendly" with a mid-age Project Manager of a multi billion USD IT company. After we finished our 1st session of "severe friendliness" I got to check out his Prism for 20 minutes. And then once again he offered me his "baseball bat". My conclusion: This is not a phone for people in their fifties. His body was awesome and so was his phone. But those two didn't mix. Even his excellent "techniques" couldn't incorporate the phone to the fiftyish age group.
