you should buy the BP-6X battery(Sircco's Battery), it last longer, mine it last for 2 1/2 days. Try it!

my god the battery is unbelievably crap! so i got a new one- which is even worse!! It won't last for a whole day, even without using it for calls, which is impossible without being plugged into the wall. And the sound is shot, i have to have it on loudspeaker as its all crackly and tinny otherwise. oh and the scratch-proof glass has two big scratches on it.
No wonder they were selling it on ebay- thanks for the total dud Nokia!

This phone is the equivalent of stapling e800's to your forehead and dancing around singing 'I'm rich and have no taste'

I was wondering if anyone had a problem with setting the ringtone of the phone. I would set it with a tone, and a few hours later it would go back to the default Nokia tune? Could this be a software/firmware problem?

8800 phone would last for years!! never out of style.. in the near future it would be a classic like old classic ferraris, value remains at high price. =)

              to victoria:

5300 is a nice phone but i think 8800 is far more better than it. Let say I drop my 8800 on 4th floor building and your 5300 on a 3rd floor building, who do you think has the greater damage? For us, the most priority for a phone must have is the capability of call and text and most especially its durability for everyday AOL. Features are just secondary mainly because, it is not the main thing why you buy a phone...

Sorry o! this fone is COOL like that! i have it and have been on it for 9mths now, just got the 5300...and this phone that is way cheaper than the 8800 has alot more fascinating features..even with all its features its battery life is much stronger than that of the 8800..i am still amazed at how that is...8800 is just slick/ fancy on the outside..period!!

                      to brenda:
8800 is different from 8801, it differs from there MHZ, like in the US they use the 8801 instead of the 8800 different frequency in different countries. Maybe that the reason why your signal goes to zero. Or maybe go to Nokia Service Center and have it check.

About the pouch for the 8800, i just recently bought a Original Nokia Pouch the CP-153 color brown. Google it to see what it looks like.

It's a bunch of craps, how can they discover it if a 8800 is being used by a a replacement non nokia battery. I think the only thing that a warranty can be void if you used a non nokia batt and the battery damage the phone like if the phone exploded or etc ... they can check throught it. Better use the original nokia to be safe.

A guy from a Nokia service point told me that the warranty on the phone is lost if you ever use a non original battery in a Nokia phone.
He said if you bring it in for repair (for any reason) they'll be able to see if it has been used with a non original battery and. Is this true or just a bunch of sales crap??
                            Regards,
                            Jasper

is it advisable to use a non-official bp-6x battery on this phone? or if i could find a higher one with about 1000 mAh, is it ok?

yes, you can use the bp-6x battery of the 8800 Sirocco Ed. ... much better than the BL-5X ... i've bought one and use it! Works perfect!!

i've just bought a BP-6X battery, seems it will solve the battery problem. Anyone who has same problem about battery issue of the stock BL-5X, you should buy the BP-6X
