Love everything about this phone EXCEPT the stupid battery. Phone says fully charged and when go to answer it it switches itself off because the battery is low! Battery life not long enough.

Due to the fact that my opinion is concerning both phones / 8800 and 8800Sirocco / I’m posting it in both sections…
Today I have “played” with 8800Sirocco for about 40 minutes and I have following opinion about it:
            Positive:
            - Yes it is better equipped / camera, memory/ in comparison with the original 8800
            - Yes the keyboard is a bit easier to use in comparison with the original 8800
            - Yes the battery is slightly bigger, but I don’t thing this will affect the battery life that much
            Negative:
            - I don’t like the design; this is personal issue but…I truly believe that the original 8800 looks better
            - Build quality is the most critical point to me, honestly to me the Sirocco is not the same as the original 8800, to me it is clear that used materials are not the same.
            - The metal parts are completely polished and look extremely dirty in few minutes’ usage only
Conclusion – perfect marketing product of Nokia, they create a real story based on 8800 and now they simply came out with the same product, but lower production costs. In order to add some additional value they have included Bluetooth, letter case, but believe me, this things cost nothing if you have order thousand pieces of them to the Chinese suppliers…
By the way the regular retail price in Bulgaria is 1100 Euro.
Based on my conclusion I went directly into the shop that have offered to me 8800 Special Addition for less than 600 Euro and I took it immediately. By the way the sound / ringtones and build in handsfree / of the Special Edition is a bit louder than the original 8800. Both are with firmware V 4.10 RM-13
            Regards to all 8800 users

              Nikoz :

Definately agree with you. Although I have both the original 8800 & Sirocco; I found the original 8800 design much more elegant & clean looking.

                To : Gunslinger_ul,

Your gun metal 8800SE have no problem. It's the new design only for the gun metal 8800SE.

I have one question for the 8800SE (gun metal color) owners:
on the back side, underneath the camera lens, where the regular 8800 has a mirror-like surface, does yours have it aswell? 'Cos mine doesn't have it and I was wondering if it's a common thing of the 8800SE or it's just mine having a flaw :)

My Friend, you just have to turn you battery 90° and it will perfectly fit in your desktop charger. Regards

About the battery – My friend did not tell me what the reason is, he just told me it is not possible. I did not say that the reason is in the battery, I assume there are some minor differences between both desktop charging stations. Even the plug system is different and as far as I’m familiar with this matter, inside of the station there is a kind of software/switch that prevent the battery from overcharging…this might be the reason I don’t know. If I get more information I’ll let you know… Noika 8xxx the best looking phones ever produced:-)))

Why coulndn't the new battery be charged with the desk charger? if you say it's identical to the old one?

So the most interesting topic to me is about the new battery…I have a friend in Nokia Bulgaria and he told me that the new BP-6X has exactly the same size and pin structure as the old BL-5X…so it is possible to be used in the “old” 8800. The only problem is that the new battery cannot be charged with the desktop charger, it must be charged directly from the regular Nokia charger…I’m looking forward to buy the new battery…it will solve the only problem of 8800, the battery life. Because I’ll not change it for 8800SE, I simply did not find the new design more attractive and in some ways it looks…strange to me. I think that old 8800’s design is much simple and cleaner…Regards to all 8800 users
