I purchased my 8800 that comes with an extra battery. Having used several models of nokia, I wonder why the extra battery should be needed. After a day's use, I concluded I have to carry the quick charger as well for I am a heavy user not just for sending texts but for calling as well. I have charged a total of 3 times during the day to be able to call and receive call as well. Nokia should come up with a better battery life. Not to mention the display and the tones that came with it, this nokia model "is not worth it."

The phone is all about looks. It is heavy to carry too. The software sucks for the money spent.
The ringtones are weird. The camera is only .5 pixels. The phone sucks for what you pay for it. The wallpapers don't work.
Save your money. Very dissapointed with it.

WHAT??? N92 and N90???? NO, they're huge, yes, functions functions yes but as a phone, what's the point. Why don't you just carry a laptop. 8800 is exquisite. It's for the looks. Class and style. If you're rich enough to get an Aston, you can get this to bling your way.

It is a very bad mobile because it doesn't have card slot or software like the old nokia phones. THE only advantage in it that its alluminium. I have N93 and N91 and they are the best mobiles ever. I think that every one must have them.

"It's all about image" How sad :D

You buy a phone because it has features that you will use on it, and because you like the design of it...f*ck what everyone else thinks!

I drive a porsche cayman because I like it, not because I think it makes me look cool!

Don't try to be what you're not.

I work for the Carphone Warehouse, one day I was randomally checking the differnt verients of the 8800 the system has, and we I came across an 8800 Scirocco, I did a few searchs online but didn't find much! Today I got a managzine called Mobile and inside I saw some images that where said to have been leaked from Nokia, according to the article there will be a newer version of the 8800 called The Scirocco, from the pics, it looks like the phone has a slightly squarer design and will feature a 2 megapixel camera! No word on if they have sorted out the battery though! The handset will probably be more expensive then the older model which we currently do for £500. It will be available in both silver and black!

Or, you could disable the power save mode, and set as screensaver one of the clocks (analog or digital). The digital one doesn't have that horizontal bar from the power saving mode, so it shouldn't burn an imprint on the screen anymore (or maybe just the digits?!). But it's still not moving up and down...:)

About the display burning – if somebody is so afraid that LCD will burn because of the power save mode / clock, date / I suggest to follow the MJK6’s idea. I tried and it works, just upload one blank jpg / 208x208 /. Then you choose this file as a screensaver and…no more troubles with this matter. OK, the phone looks like it is not switched on, but at least this is a kind of solution…

Unfortunately there is no solution to this problem. This is a BUG that it's damaging(sooner or later) the screen. The only solution is to wait a newer firmware from Nokia fixing this bug but i doubt that there will be a drastic solution to the many problems of this "phone".
