Hi! Just got my 8800 and realised that the sliding mechanism is not as smooth as my mates 8800. Its a sort of grinding noise. Anyone with similar problems? Thanks!

I bought my Nokia 8800 two months ago and I have to say Im very happy with it. Reception is perfect even in places where others mobiles dont work. If you charge the battery properly first time it will last 3-4 days with a normal use. And for emergencies you have an spare one (That I rarely use btw). Camera is not the best, but that doesnt matters to me, I have a good Digital one. Memory is a bit low when it comes to mp3 , but enought to store loads of photos. the screen is protected by A scratch-resistant glass window and the quality is ace [TFT]. Maybe Its a bit heavy, but it aint a cheap mobile. It comes with a nice leather pouch which helps to clean as it gets fingerprints after use it.
Oh, and its the most beautiful mobile out there. Everybody will look at it.Fact.

I don't know for you people but i wouldn't want to give £540 to buy a faulty ,unreliable phone just because of its look. This phone is useless, not worthy phone and has nothing to show except high price.

I have a Nokia 8800 phone. Its like marmite either you love it or hate it. For me I love this phone for two simple things, 1. the nokia menu easy to use and nothing like a motorola or sony eric, 2. THE LOOKS! this phone is as slick as it comes and no matter what anyone says no one can touch it. Yes it has it flaws but can anyone tell me a phone that they have bought and it does EVERYTHING you want it to do? EXACTLY. Saying that i think the phone is quite satisfactory because if you dont get good functions you get a stunning phone!

i work for vodafone, doing upgrades for customers, i have a nokia 8800 myself but thats on the staff plan and the phone was free !! its my worst nightmare when someone comes through to me and says they want a 8800 because i have to get atleast £250 for it as its so expensive, put it this way on my stock list this phone shows for £580 and that cost price without VAT. but i have had no problems with mine, the phone is by no means at all best out there in terms of spec but for look and quality, oh my god, what a phone. guaranteed when you pull this phone out of ure pocket ull get a woooooooo, would every1 agree?? does any1 due for an upgrade with vodafone i will sort it , just write here!!but part from that i pretty much agree with sleeper gud points m8!!!

I really like the Nokia 8800 and still do as it's a nice phone, beautiful design and looks the biz. However feel dissapointed that mine developed a fault within 2months, went on holiday and it let me down when i most needed it. Upon return to UK approached o2 (uk SP) and they only offered a reburbished one. Not happy about that because don't see why i have to have a phone that has been already fixed. Got no choice on that i'm afraid and it's a SP issue not Nokia. The fact is it should'nt of broken down in the first place ! Not what i expect of Nokia'a flagship model. Have a new one now and seems ok (for now) Battery life i agree is'nt that good but it is a really nice phone if you like something a little different. I paid too much for it just because i wanted it. I agree with the other post that the 8910i was a better all-rounder. I had mine for 2 years and it never let me down. Seems some people have had issues with the 8800 like me, i suppose anything electronic has the potential to go wrong but we feel it more because owning the 8800 seems like owning something very special...and when something special goes wrong...it's not pleasant...take care all. Nokia has finally realised the major uncorrected problems of this "phone" and decided to discontinue it. This "exclusive"(as stated) "phone" is a faulty, joke phone and thank God i don't have it anymore and it will never be as classic as 8910.
