A Proud Father:

The most amazing thing happened today. My daughter - who left on Monday for boarding school in Vermont - called and told me she had donated to the Hurrican Relief effort. The children gave money, supplies, food, clothes, toys, etc.

Anyway, she proudly told me she gave away her iPod and her Nokia 8800! I was very upset with her until I realized Zoe - even at her young age - knows what is important in life. It's not material things but what's in your heart!!!

If you see a photo of one of the refugees using the 8800 think of Zoe - I'm sure it was hers.

I know it sounds corny but - I hope all of you will take a moment to appreciate life.

We are, indeed, lucky.

i dont think anyone here is afraid of success. they're much more likely to be afraid of becoming as egoistic, materialistic, and trivial as Ty, lord of enlightening feedback. 8800 - great phone!

i think purchase of this cell phone is no better than simply waste of money...it has very little functions, not even a mega pixel camera;but it's price is $999 !!!shame for nokia...

          To Theo/Ty:

Oh right, now I remember the shop you're talking about - the
"One Hour We Paint Nokia Cell Phones" shop.

You think we believe someone is going to remove the casing, the glass screen, recoat the shell, paint it with special paint, and reassemble it with specialized Nokia tools for $25.00. Yeah, right, buddy!!!

Hey Theo, what a story! You think we're idiots? Dude, you can't just take apart the 8800 paint it and put it back toether. And even if you could the cost would be nuts!

Are you and that Ty guy the same person?

concerning the "piano black" nokia 8800, I have been awaiting news of this for quite some time. However, even the Nokia website has no news of this color. Now, please do not take offense to my inquiry, I am honestly curious and of course want one all for myself, however, without news of it on even the company website, I am quite at a loss as to where and when I can get it. Does this store in Bangkok do online orders? Credit card of course, just wondering if you could provide info for the rest of us. Thanks in advance.

ok,u see, this is bangkok.there is a shopingmall called the mbk.in there,u have about 300 shops, only selling phones.all of this shops geting the phones from somewhere.don't ask me from where.so,the nokia 8800 costs here 750 usd.this shops giveing u a warantee, not a nokia one,one from the shop, thats why it's so cheap.now,u don't need the nokia warantee, means,u can breake the warantee seal.then,u go to another shop, they will remove the body from ur nokia 8800.after,u go to the next shop, all in the same place.this shop will make u a perfect painting job,in shiny piano black, incl a sheeld.then u go back to the 2.nd shop,he will fix the body to the phone, and then u have a nokia 8800 in piano black!!! it looks just same it comes original from nokia.costs of all 25 usd! so,u then have a piano black nokia 8800 for 775 usd, incl 1 year warantee from the shop, and believe me,the warantee from this shop is better and quicker then nokia itself.well, done deal,u have the phone of ur dreams.

                            Theo:

I and most others on this site are very, very envious you already have a black 8800. My phone guy has called every contact he has around the world - and at Nokia -but cannot verify it's existance. Can you please post photos, web links, name of store from where you bought it? How much did it cost? Please describe in detail the color of the keys, various buttons, etc. Also "piano black" is not a Nokia color I am aware of. Tell us more. We're all waiting!

SVGA its a step after VGA. VGA resolution is 640X480 and SVGA is 800X600. Unfortunately SVGA is not a megapixel camera... if you put it that way it will be 0.5 mega pixel. If you compare this phone's camera to 6230i, i think 6230i is just better... 6230i has 1.3 megapixel camera
