is voice quality good and volume loud enough??
i have e66 and its volume is not so loud even at the max..

Big NO to E52, my phone is with nokia care for more than a month, yesterday i received a message that it has been repaired. it started to auto shutdown when ever i make a call or use web. Forther if it was left unattended for more than an hour it again auto power off. When i reached nokia care, i was surprised that a lot of user had the same problem. However, our dearest nokia even though their customer service agent confirmed that thay are reciving such complaint for e52 did not bother to replace the set and kept for diagnosis. I hope that they replace my set and when they do i am going to sell this piece of shit.

To the "my phone was broken in box" guy...I have had the same issue with all sorts of brands so it is hardly specific to Nokia. It depends on the retailer and their rules as well. I refuse to buy from someone who will not refund of exchange and I find that out BEFORE paying. If you bought without checking it then you take that risk and should have made sure they have good return policies before buying. I bought my E52 in a shop and checked in well before paying.

However...I do not agree there are SERIOUS ISSUES as you claim. It is normal on the internet to hear more from unhappy people than happy ones. It is human nature. I bet you will find just as many people complaining about iphones or SE or Samsung etc. It is the sad nature of mass produced electronics and frankly customer service sucks everywhere.

vic, 26 Jun 2010Good day to all people here. i just want to ask all of you ... moreThat is actually the only problem I have had with mine. It changes theme to the default theme about 1 out of every 4 or 5 times I charge it.
It is a minor annoyance but can be switched back with about 3 button presses so I don't worry about it. No idea why it does that.

My Nokia 6288 allowed the setting of Reminders. One of the very useful options was to set a reminder to "Call" a number as selceted from the list of Contacts.
Nokia E52 does not support the option to select form Contacts. It allows the following "New Entry" options: Meeting, memo, anniversary and To-do. Neither Memo or To-do offer the option to select from "Contacts".
Does anybody have a solution to my dilemma? (I have upgraded to the latest software; no difference)

Raj, 25 Jun 2010U use tis ph0ne,its working properly r nt plz tel meI would give 7/10,,looks simple yet elegant,not too flashy,did not come across any build problem. ..loudspeaker not as loud as 5130, will do good for people with normal hearing capacity,definitely not for the ones who prefer blaring noise ,sound quality is very good with headset.Camera's performance is not good enough for a 3.2 mp,its OK..keep flash off and editing definitely helps. Didn't come across any signal reception issues in my handset,set the loudspeaker volume to max.Video quality is also good (personally compared the same videos with 5800xm ,found e52 better).I needed a non touchscreen,feature packed nokia phone,with slim build,this fits in . Not to forget that its a business phone too.Not aware why people r facing issues with build quality,may be just bad luck,...Just waiting for someone to guide me to establish WLAN connection/wi-fi , I'd be totally satisfied with my handest.

i bought it..
updated d s/w to 34.002..
downloaded maps @ 100 MBPS using wi-fi..
on avg i receive calls @ 15 per hour..
batt is simply awesome..
but till now ma set neva hanged..
its a gr8 phone.. i ll advise u ppl to buy it fro nokia priority oly..

Plz tell me if i have to go for any one between e52 and e71 which one should i prefer??
I was following the comments here for last 7 days and i am totaly confused...hands on experience users plz tell me which one has lesser number of daily problems and better camera and audio quality....

I bought Nokia E52 just 20 days back and it's steel ring comes off often even without having been fallen even once. It really questions the hardware quality of the phone. The phone is not tightly fit as E71. If you can live with smaller keys, definitely go for E71 instead of E52 because of E71 having much better hardware.

Terrible, terrible customer service from Nokia
My E52 was broken in box - instead of replacing the phone I was told it had to go for 'repair'... only for it to come back four weeks later with one part fixed and another part broken. Nokia totally refuse to replace the phone and tell me I have to send the broken phone back to them once more (at my cost) so they can spend another four weeks breaking something else on it. They tell me they are legally allowed to attempt three repairs on the phone before having to replace it and that this is what they are going to do (I have never spoken with a ruder customer service agent - I will be complaining to Nokia EMEA head office about my experience) - that will be more than three months and three separate sets of postage charges for me to pay before I get a phone that I *might* be able to use (though with this model's problems that's seemingly rather optimistic on my part)
I will not be buying any more Nokia products after this experience
Buying an E52 is a gamble because of the terrible build quality... some here are happy with their copy and defend the phone like it's a family member, but those of us who have had problems with it unfortunately recognise that it is a model with serious issues
If you must buy a Nokia E series then go for the much better constructed E72 or maybe an E71 if you can find one cheap. Otherwise look to other phone suppliers as Nokia seem to have rested on their laurels rather too long and have let their customer service and product quality drop to unacceptably poor levels
