@ Vito,

I had some chm files which I converted to html to be able to use them with phone. I used Nokia PC Suite to do that.

As for memory card, there seems to be quite a mess around this. It looks like most of the "mini" cards work at high voltage range while phones are lower one. This leads to communication problems. To address it DV has been created making sure this process works. Now, if card is DV then it is RS too, but RS doesn't have to be DV. This also means that RS and non DV will probably work (some may not), but I will not risk. I found that even Sandisk had warning about this on their website.

    Well on ebay they keep saying that the card is a DV card, so I'm going to see what it says when I get it, maybe find a way to test it. Also some people bought it for the N70 (it needs a DV as well) and they say that it works great, so I'll take a look and keep you posted.

    As for now, anyone have any idea how I can transfer txt files onto the phone memory? I want to use it as an ebook but I don't see any way to simply transfer it (BT/IR are not options, USB only).

    Thanks

        @ Vito

        When I went to topram web site I saw that their MMC is not DV! Actually, on their website they list Nokias that cannot use that card as it is NOT dual voltage.

        If you check picture on ebay you will see the same - not dual voltage! It might work - I have no idea, but given that RS DV is required I'm not willing to buy card not certified and do something wrong to my mobile.

          @Vito

          I work at the R&D Department for a GSM Telecom so I use the phone "heavily" for testing and for my everyday communications. A possibility of me having long battery life is the signal strength as we have more than a couple of airsites that are of very close proximity to our office were we get around -60 dBm of signal strength. :D

            Oh, one thing I forgot to mention about T-Dimension: everything went perfect, except that they didn't send me a confirmation or tracking number after the purchase... I emailed them 3-4 days afterwards and they replied with the link and tracking number the day before it came in, other than that the transaction, inquiries, etc. went perfect.

            ps: sorry for double posting

              TO ALL:
              I GOT THE PHONE!!! :D
              First of all, T-Dimension is good, cheap and even throws in a free case :D the delay from hitting "buy it now" to getting to my doorstep was 5 business days, not bad if you ask me.
              The phone is great, although it does feel a bit plasticky as mentioned before. Well I'll professionals do the full review, but so far I love the phone! :)

              @Mike671
              Yeah, I just bought the 1GB Topram off of ebay as well, mine is supposed to come with a USB reader as well, we'll see how it fares up.
              And how do you manage to get 2 days of batter out of it? I have a second battery (from my old 3120 :P) and with heavy usage it doesn't last a day... I end up having to replace the battery around 10pm :( of course my heavy usage is an hour of wifi, an hour of mp3's, and several hours of talking, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised... what's your definition of "heavy" usage, Mike?

              I don't have nearly as many contacts (73) but I don't seem to have any delay at all.

              Anyone know of a good, cheap (preferably free) anti-virus software for the phone? and is it really even necessary?

                I am a pro photographer from India, have been waiting for a phone like this for a long time, alas no stock with the local Nokia dealer, it seems it has to be specially ordered, meanwhile dealer tried his best to log me on to me of the N series,why cant they understand that there are some people that want phones with no camera, those of you who are cribing due to lack of camera,please dont buy this phone look elsewhere and stopping whining!!

                  I bought a Topram 512MB DV RS-MMC (Brand new) on Ebay for US$10.50 and it works great.

                  @stylinexpat & shanti patel
                  As far as the bug on contacts, I have about 350 contacts on my outlook and I sync with Nokia PC Suite through bluetooth with no problems.

                  I also installed a bunch of programs from anti-virus to utilities and never got a lag or hang up. But I always stop any program(s) I don't use by terminating them with the task manager. :D I also don't have a problem with the WiFi always on issue. I use it heavily everyday (together with calls & sms) & and still get 2 days worth of battery life.

                    I am myself looking for memory too. I found on amazon cheapest offering to be 18 pounds for UK, but I will have to review the brand first. Usually in shops with brand name you wull find it for 50-60 pounds and that's not cheap. I'm also a bit worried about this wave of storage I collected; my mp3 player is actually 30GB hard disk, memory stick is 4GB, I have PSD for photos 40GB and now memory for phone too? I need to consolidate myself :)

                      Anyone know of a cheap site to buy RS-DV-MMC cards? Of course shipping to Canada has to be cheap as well :P

                      @ H

                      Thanks for the reply, I was actually looking at the 1GB RS-DV-MMC card. And the main reason I got this phone over the K800/790 or the W810i is because this one has Wi-Fi and a great resolution screen - seeing as how my university as well as most coffee shops offer free Wi-Fi service, I figured this phone would be perfect for having on the road :)

                      Still waiting for it to ship though :( Why do they take so long to ship the darn thing? (rhetorical question :P)

                        @ previous poster

                        I must say that I find that subject strange a bit. I work in one IT support company and mostly when visiting data centers you are not allowed to have cameras. However, they don't mind if you take mobile with you as your are always in company with someone watching you. In few DCs where they listed mobiles as not allowed I asked if no camera phones were allowed and they were, but rooms were so protected that no signal was coming in either so no use of the phone (except for any other function other than call/text). And I guess last one is the only function where I see advantage of it when it comes to business (but then real PDA sounds even better).

                        The real advantage for me is that instead of all electronics and chip instructions used for camera this can be used now for something else - more required when it comes to business.

                                If you are having problems with this device try doing a hard-reset. I did a hard-reset on mine and it is a lot quicker now with no bugs in it. Contacts open up quickly as well. To do a hard-reset you need to hold down the * 3 and green button down for about 10 seconds when turning the phone off. First turn off phone and start phone, second turn off phone and last while turning on your phone hold down the * 3 and green call button for 10 seconds. Everything will be deleted or lost if you have anything in the phone. Hopefully this works for the people having problems as it worked for me for now..

                                  Speed of text sending is up to network you use and strenght of signal. If signal is ok then is network. I'v been using this phone with T-Sys back home and for past few weeks in UK in roaming via Orange, Vodafone and O2 and there are no issue with text message sending speed.

                                    Unfortunatley I live in the US [5 years behind when it comes to mobile tech] will buy the E60 out of the country. Cannot for the life of me understand why all the complaints about a camera have a 6230 with the camera and have never used it nor ever expect too.

                                        MP3 storage area will depend on the size of the memory card you buy of course :) If you wish mp3 phone you are looking at wrong phone. While this phone will play mp3s it would be waste of money to buy phone like this just to listen mp3s. Rather buy yourself decent stereo.

                                        Are you sure you want this phone? Sound more you are after PEBL fruit edition. Business phones have never been sold as cosmetics on market so do not expect to see this phone in pink (unless you will buy some colors in shop and do it yourself).
