Only initially I guess.. once they release firmware it should be quick, I am pretty sure new firmware wont be out until E70 is out which is sometime late may.
I am expecting first firmware sometime late may to june.. it should be solved in that

In the description of N80 I noticed that it doesn't have a VoIP but does have a UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access), which seems to even be possible to make VoIP calls at any hotspot, so does it mean that this is a disadvantage of E60 comparing to N80 as here we also read that VoIP works for N80 but not on E60?! Thanks!

At this point we arent sure why it doesn't work. I did not say it does work for sure with N80, its hit/miss - more of miss.
Its just right now the way cellphone companies have their software setup... isnt really compatible with current firmware of these phones. Next firmware I think it should be more available

Could you exlain me why the VOIP doesn't work now on the E60 but works with the N80? What is the problem exactly? I would be delighted to have more of your comments on this point.

VOIP is not really gonna work rt now, perhaps in the next firmware release it will. They are still working out the deals.
I have had people getting their VOIP work on N80s which is pretty much the same. But its more like a hit or miss. More of miss if you ask me!

Could anybody please explain, how does the VoIP works on this phone and if there's a need of special aditional software?
I just talked to the local Nokia support center and they told that I need a special software on my PC which enables those calls, and then I connect with my phone to it. Nokia also told that it won't be possible to use it on a street while using a public Wi-Fi network- is that correct?!
I guess, many things are stil unclear as phone has just appeared on market..
P.S. Any ideas if the time comes and Skype releases a Symbian supported version, would it work on this phone?

E70 has been delayed, I am a member of Forum Nokia - and they sent a message to us developer sayings its delayed until later this year.
That being said, Gsmarena.com - will not change the status of the phone unless one of their sponsors/vendors gets a phone in stock - until then its not available for em. Fine by me actually.
E60 is available for sale in european countries for 400 EUR which is decent consdering what you get for this phone
No SIP clients are working as of right now, wait until nokia comes out with a firmware update, with the current firmware sip is a hit or miss.. ok more of a miss than hit.

it shows that E 60 , E 61 and N 71 are now available (the "coming soon" sign was taken off , that means it's available in europe )
and GSMarena is still saying that these 3 phones are not released, maybe because there arent any websites that has this phone for sale,so they didnt consider that the phone is released, but at least they should mention this under the specification...i hope the E 70 will be also available soon... it's the best phone from the E series... 2 MP cam and VOIP together,this is great

hey, who's got the phone and tried out VOIP connection by WLAN? looking for phone that combines GSM AND WLAN/VOIP connections (only one phone to carry around...)

actually I have this phone. It's nice, but few more things that bother me: 1. small internal memory and no included memory card. 2. no repeating alarm - have to set alarm every time (all new Nokias have this software minus) Otherwise it's quite handy... lots of office features!!!

The reason I asked about camera is that this phone supports 3G and the main point of 3G is to have a videocall. Yes, 3G also is good for data transfer but as this is a quite expensive and big phone it would not have been too difficult to add a little camera for videocalls...

OK, the phone has been released in some countries. Like Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark.
For those countries which are closer to Europe. I am guessing its made in Germany, so its easier and faster to distribute in Europe itself.
That being said, the price is gonna be around 400 E, or 550 USD (people who are waiting in North America to get it imported)
Reviews are good, ppl really like it, the ones who have.
I think status changes when any of the affiliated seller (for gsm arena) store gets that phone in stock...
