Nokia whats wrong with you let your customers down know an again ,people like your mobiles for the ease of use but the functions you do not apply let people down know an again,if this had a camera with this screen pixels it would sell like hot cakes grow up an redesign this mobile an place a camera on the new model

Thats a shame I was hoping the battery would be decent. I'm looking for a smart, well built phone with a decent screen and good battery life. Still worth keeping an eye on though and seeing what people views are when they have had a chance to try it out!

Also I can't see why people are getting so uptight about lack of camera, the N series all have cams and are pretty similar featurewise.

I think that this phone is a very good move, something like 6310i. A true bussines phone, symbian, screen res, they didn't put good enough battery ( 6310i has li-pol).

Yes!!! No camera for a good phone... Thats the way... Only phones that has no camera can be judged whether it is good or not... That is the challenge!

Thats true the 63xx design was excellent but didn't have all the bells and whistles of a lot of the newer phones, very good build quality!

I'm hoping this phone is similar because I'm really in need of a new phone badly and was going to get the N91 but as I have an MP3 player already it seems a bit of a waste of features.

Does anyone have any idea if the battery is going to be anygood as I never trust these figures!

The 6310i had no camera when it was released in the 90s. And business users were still asking for that up until a few months ago.

People have now 7megapixel with nice autofocus and more and more... Camera in phone is a simple gadget that increase unnecessarily the phones' price. E60 is a very good product.

research shows there are 3 types of user. The way the market is going now there are a lot of phones that hover between being atractive to all 3 of these customer types. The nokia E-Series makes a bee-line for a very specific type.

                          1. The poser. Their primary need is for them to be contactable. Next inline is a phone to make them look more sophisticated. Shiny, expensive, gimmicky. All words associated with this type of user. These people typically buy things like the Nokia 8800, it's a status symbol of them. Lets face it, why else do you want an 8800 other than to pose =P

                          2. The technical person. They need their phones to keep in touch with the office, manage their files, maintain systems and use the internet and wifi connections for research and email. All 3 of the E-Series phones are perfect for this user.

                          3. The mock-businessman. People that actually dont need any of the functionality of their phone other than for text messages calling, showing funny mpegs to collegues and having comical ringtones. They choose phones that are gadgety and have oodles of functionality but use them more for personal use. Sort of a combination of 1 and 2. Phones suited to these people include the N91, the P990, the 9500 and the 7710 (though please god dont go for the 7710, it's just an example! lol) Basically these phones are more gadgety and complicated.

These are obviously just guides because not everyone fits exactly into their stereotype. I myself am more of a number 3. i like my gadgetry and i always think along the lines of "yeah it'd be cool if i could do that with my phone" but never actually get round to it lol.

The E Series for me are very much a functional business phone. They're not flashy, they dont need gimmicks like cameras and video calling.

And the E-series is likely to be a whole lot cheaper than most because they're simpler. The P990 altho comprehensive is likely to be an astronimically priced handset. Whereas i'd wager every e-series phone wont be far off half the price. Businesses dont buy single handsets, they buy several, even 10s of hundreds of phones. The cheaper, the better, because it makes them more profitable.

Thats the beauty of the e-series, simple, functionally exceptional and affordable. It's no use regular consumers complaining these phones aren't up to scratch, they weren't designed with you in mind. This is almost too sensible a move for Nokia, a manufacturer that usually shapes it's handsets by the common 'IT' factor. good job nokia imo.

This phone with camera+video could be the perfect phone, Im starting to think that nokia isn't interested into build the "perfect" phone . Anyway this its going to be a topsales,IMO.

Classic yet very stylish. I think Nokia will repeat the success like N6230 or N6230i. Business mostly don't need camera. Just transfer it via bluetooth & with its 16 million colours screen, i think it will be superb!

All these new Nokia E series phones have faster WLAN than SE P990. SE has only version B of WLAN when Nokia chose many times faster version G. Good job Nokia!
