To all to be honeset i dont use mobiles for camaras or wifi or music.
the reason i buy phones is just that its a phone, I bought the E65 becasue of the large high res crisp screen and slider which hides all the number pad and the fact that its one of the slimest phones you can get at the time and it had a nice whight to it and felt solid.
the thing what gets my goat is reviews or any phone shops you go into all say
1 its got this for a camara so what
2 it have a fantastic music player in it so what
3 it can do this and that so what
i want a bloody phone that can hold onto the calls whithout droping i want a phone that has top quality speech and ear peace, i want a phone with a very good battery life.
it boils me thta thay dont even tel you these things anymore.
the nokia e65 has in my 7 months of having it
1 does not have a sealed screen so dust gets under it
2 the slider is starting to come away and i hardly even use it and nokia put this down as cosmetic so thay will charge to fix it and i know its a bad design.
3 the screen saver clock somtimes does not kick in and you have to turn the phone on and off to get it back on i have even contacted nokia about this and thay say take it back to the shop why i know other people with this problem so its firmware which nokia do not support for this phone as its still on version 1
4 somtimes when it jumps from one transmitter to another it hangs the phone calls up my SE never did this on the same trip
5 the coating is peeling in places and i use the dame phone pouch that came with the phone and it still is peeling and it never ever gets put into my pocket with other items only the phone.
all i am saying is dont get this phone its not worth it there are to many problems and nokia dont care this is why i will not buy another nokia becasue of this.
the wifi does work on a wifi network router
but like i say never used it much.
there are other phones out there but i dont know what thay would be like i am wating for the samsung f700 to try it out but if its no good soo be it but thats the next one i am wating to try.

even the nokia n95 has alot of problems its just nokia are going down hill fast heres

the 6500 slide supports HSCSD, EDGE and 3G.
for more percised info search the google
(write : "what is HSCSD?", and do the same for edge & 3g). Yes, you'll be able to conect to the internet and msn and read mail or surf. the only difrence between those three and wlan is that wlan is free if you are near the router.
HSCSD,EDGE and G3 conect directly to network (check with your operator cost), and wifi conects free trough the router. but if there's no free router, you'll havto conecta hrough HCSCD... anyway.
only advatage of the wifi is that you can conect to a LAN network to share data

I got that the screen is sealed so it won't get dusty, wich is important of course!
As for the camero,3.5mg is surely better than a 2mg camera.
But, to me, one thing very important is the WiFi!
If i use the edge or 3G, will i be able to surf the web and get connected to msn for free as i could is i use the wifi?
I don't know, can you give me an anwser, please.
Some points you told me are very important and quite considered, but there is just the Edge/3G i need to be sure about.

In my opinion 6500 slide is far more better than e65. My friend owns a phone shop and he had e65, and now planing on buying 6500 slide. He said that e65 is not bad phone at all, but it's overrated. Yes, it is a solid business phone, but not worth all the fame :) new 6500 is built from far more quality material, and screen is sealed so it doesn't get dusty under it. He said that software is faster by far. And one more thing - 6500 has a 3,15 mpix camera (Carl Zeiss optics - wich happens to be in top 3 lens) with autofocus and flash.
And 6500's front panel and screen are made from some special plastic that can't be damaged easily - and that is a huge plus.
And wifi (wlan), yes it is free, but you need a wireless router to conect to internet. and wireless network must not be firewall or password protected - in that case, you wont be able to conect trough it.
that means that you must be in non-protected routers range (up to aprox. 20 m) to use your wifi.
and if you just wanna surf by mobile phone or use your phone as a modem for pc or laptop, edge or 3g network is what you need.

Hiii....I would like to tell you about my experience with this phone...it has a nice design and shape,easy and friendly manuals, effective while browsing with EDGE. but it suffers of alot of problems: u don't hear calling tone when u call some1 and u don't hear his voice...it happened alot with me and my friends also, alot of restarts without any reasons!!!..my keypad light doesn't work....in the end I don't advice u to buy it...

i 'm hesitating between the E65 and the 6500 Slide !
They seem great but, here is the situation!
One has wifi, wich is in my opinion, useful but i dont know if it's for free or not? IS IT ?
and except the features, wich is the best as quality, i mean the slide, the screen the key pad ...
i'd like to get a serious answer please!

tnx lee! this is what i call a serious answer :) no, really, I think that opinions like yours should count and not some 14year old kids. i can't understand when people argue about colors or small differences in menus or cameras. i think that everyone should consider buying a quality phone before with lots of stuff in it that is often not used at all.

forgot to say that the outer coating flaked a bit beside ther top part of the screen.

I have had this phone for 7 months now and have to say what a pile of crap.
the build quality is the worst, the silder is now not working to well and the dust under the screen is just poor.
I 100% look after my phones and i hardly use the silder but you can see one side is coming away a littile and makes the slider stick.
the phone does not have a sealed screen this causeing dust to get under it.
the screen saver does not kick in somtimes and i have to reset the phone to make it come back on.
I will never by another nokia again after this as i pay £35 a month for this phone and nokia will not even fix the faults without charging me.
its one of the worst phones i have had for build quality.
never again.
the menus and user interface is exellent but thats about it
oh and somtimes the phone will drop calls never had this problem on my SE can n ot wait till my contract is up to get ride of it.

to elaine, to turn off saying the callers anme go to profiles then to general or any other profile then u will c (say callers name) turn it off..

It's a nice phone with good battery life... But Nokia, I ask you, why no graphic smileys in sms's? Also, I can't insert a number (from phone book) into a text message. Once in a text message, there is no option to "Use number" and add to contact or call. Surely this is all business functionality?? Lastly, no predicitve words... predictive text yes, but words no. I had predictive word on my previous Nokia 7270 and it was awesome!! Is there anywhere I can upgrade the phone's software?

hi there i got dis fone 4 bout 2 months now and i luv it i dunno y sum ppl complain dat it doesn't hav flash or radio, i mean just go with da flo man.and if u dn't like dis fone or any otha fone dn't buy it.simple...

does the e65 keypad not light up? just purchased. & has anyones e65 outer coating peeled or flaked a bit? especially beside the screen...
